Tech Team - Sets and Props
In this hands-on technical theatre class, students will learn the fundamentals of scenic design by creating props, painting and decorating sets, and exploring the creative process behind theatrical storytelling. Along the way, they'll develop practical skills in painting techniques, basic construction, faux finishes, prop fabrication, organization, and safe tool use—all while working as part of a production team.
Perfect for creative students who love making things with their hands, this class provides an exciting introduction to the world of backstage theatre. Throughout the session, students will help create scenery and props for Momentum Arts productions, gaining real-world experience while seeing their work come to life on stage. No previous theatre experience is required.

We’re excited to invite some of our younger performers to be part of this season's auditions for our award-winning competitive Junior Theatre Festival troupe as we prepare and perform a cut of Matilda Jr.! Auditions for younger performers will be held on Saturday, August 22 from 5pm to 7pm.
JTF is a different experience from participating in one of our regular productions. This is a competitive performance troupe, which means rehearsals move at a faster pace and performers are expected to come ready to work hard, take direction, learn material quickly, and continue practicing outside of rehearsal.
But it’s also an amazing experience! :) Our troupe will work together to create a 15-minute cut of Matilda Jr., which we’ll perform for adjudicators alongside theatre groups from across the country.
We’re looking for a few young performers who are interested in auditioning and taking the next step in their musical theatre training. We’re looking for students who are hardworking, focused, positive, willing to learn, and excited to be part of a team.
