Intermediate Afro-Urban Dance
A high-energy dance experience for students ready to take their skills to the next level. Rooted in West African foundations, this class blends Afrobeats, hip-hop, dancehall, and contemporary urban movement. Dancers will strengthen their technique, musicality, coordination, and performance skills while learning choreography, developing their individual style, and building confidence, discipline, creativity, teamwork, and cultural connection.

Level 2: Afro-Urban Dance Performance Team
A high-energy, audition-only competitive team for dedicated teen dancers ready to elevate their training and performance skills. Rooted in West African foundations, the program blends Afrobeats, dancehall, hip-hop, and contemporary urban movement.
Dancers will develop advanced choreography, technique, musicality, strength, stamina, stage presence, and their own artistic style while preparing for dance competitions, Afiwi performances, and community events. The program also builds confidence, discipline, teamwork, leadership, cultural pride, positive self-expression, and a strong sense of belonging.
Placement is by observation audition by the instructor over the first 4 weeks. Dancers must demonstrate commitment, strong attendance, a positive attitude, and readiness to grow as part of a team.

An engaging drumming class for students who have mastered the fundamentals and are ready to explore more complex Malinké rhythms. Students will strengthen their technique, timing, speed, musicality, improvisation, and ensemble skills while deepening their understanding of West African rhythm, culture, and tradition. This class prepares drummers for advanced performances while building confidence, discipline, teamwork, leadership, and cultural pride. Drummers will experience master drummers, field trips to see performances.

The class develops coordination, focus, active listening, confidence, discipline, and teamwork while building an appreciation for West African music, culture, and community traditions. No previous drumming experience is required.
This is a 12 week month long program with year-end showcase commitment
