IMPACT Dance Policies and Procedures 2020-21

Payment
Unless other arrangements are made, ALL class payments are to be made the FIRST week of each month/term. New this year you will have the option to pay on our new site/app dance studio pro with credit or debit. Cash/cheque will still be accepted, please send exact change in a clearly labeled envelope.
There will be no refunds given. Students who are absent may request to have the class streamed online for them to participate. Please give adequate notice to allow set up time. In the event of a complete shut down we will switch directly to zoom classes with no time lost.

Allergies
We do have students with severe allergies to peanut and other tree nuts. Please DO NOT send anything containing nuts. Most students do not have classes for a long enough period to require a snack in their bag.
Please have your dancers wear little to no scented products as many are very sensitive. However anti-perspirant is encouraged for the students coming of age.

If your child has any allergies, medical or special needs please advise Amber McPhee directly.

Health & Safety Protocols
Students are welcome to wear a mask if they/their parent so choose. Please ensure staff members are aware if you want your child to keep their mask on.

All dancers will sanitize their hands prior to entering the dance studio as well as when exiting. Hand sanitizer will be readily available at all times throughout class as well.

Distance will be strongly encouraged as well as a “no touch” policy. Please remind your children each time they dance there can be no hugging or touching. Teachers will sanitize their hands prior to and after a hands on physical adjustment and will wear their mask at any point they are near the dancers.

Bathroom breaks will always have a dedicated class rep (parent volunteer or staff) to accompany the dancers. Only one student will be permitted to the washroom at a time.

Staff
Only healthy (without symptoms) will be teaching at the studio. Staff will have a training day guidelines to follow for cleaning and sanitizing as well as expectations for class preparation in the event of a shut down.

Communication
The IMPACT Dance Facebook page will remain a primary source of communication, however new this year we have a parent portal which will allow staff to post notes, music, reminders all in one spot. As well parents will have the option to email their child’s teacher directly. You can also reach me, Amber McPhee, at 549-3554.


Drop off/Pick Up
Please arrive no more than 5-10 minutes prior to your dancer’s start time. Ready your dancer is just their dance clothing keeping all outerwear with you. A class representative (parent volunteer or staff member) will be there to gather the dancers and escort them in to the studio. Please send the dancers with just their dance shoes and a LABELLED water There is a small waiting area for parents if they opt to wait during class.

IMPACT Dance Studio Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement

The undersigned acknowledges and understands that with any physical activity there is a risk of injury to the participants. The undersigned understands that in consideration of being able to participate in the classes and exhibitions involving various forms of dance and movement, does hereby release IMPACT Dance, the owners, instructors, staff and volunteers in charge of all actions demands or claims that may result because of injury.

IMPACT Dance has taken certain steps to implement recommended guidance and protocols issued by the Public Health Agency for slowing the transmission of COVID-19, including, without limitations, the access/use restrictions set forth below. The undersigned understand and agrees that IMPACT Dance may revise its procedures at any time based upon updated guidance and protocols issued by Public Health and further agrees to comply with the revised procedures while participating in the programs at IMPACT Dance.

The undersigned hereby agrees, represents and warrants that neither the undersigned not the participating children shall visit or utilize the facilities and programs of IMPACT Dance if he/she experiences symptoms of COVID-19, including, without limitation, fever , cough or shortness of breath, or has a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19. The undersigned also agrees that participants shall not visit or utilize IMPACT Dance programs (other than online services and programs offered by IMPACT Dance) within 4 days of returning from a highly impacted area or exposure to any person who has a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19. The undersigned agrees to notify IMPACT Dance immediately if he/she believes that any of the foregoing access/use restrictions apply.

In further consideration of being able to use the facilities or equipment, or participate in any on-site or off-site program affiliated with IMPACT Dance the undersigned hereby agrees to the following:

The undersigned, and on behalf of such participating children, hereby releases, waives, discharges and covenants not to sue IMPACT Dance, the owners, instructors, staff and volunteers for all liability for any loss or damage and any claim and demands on account of any property damage or injury to, or an illness or the death of, the undersigned or such participating children (or any person who may contract COVID-19, directly or indirectly, from the undersigned or participating children) whether caused by negligence, either active or passive, of IMPACT Dance.

The undersigned agrees to indemnify and save and hold harmless IMPACT Dance, the owners, instructors, staff and volunteers from any loss, liability, damages or costs they may incur whether caused by negligence, either active or passive, while the undersigned or any participating children participating in any programs affiliated with IMPACT Dance. The undersigned understand that IMPACT Dance is not required to provide insurance to cover the participating children in the event they suffer injury, illness, death, property loss, theft or damage of any sort while participating in any program affiliated with IMPACT Dance. THE UNDERSIGNED HEREBY ASSUMES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR, AND RISK OF ILLNESS, BODILY INJURY, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE to the undersigned or the participating children while using the premises of IMPACT Dance and/or participating in any programs affiliated with IMPACT Dance.
I HAVE CAREFULLY READ AND VOLUNTARILY SIGN THIS ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT. I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT THIS AGREEMENT IS MADE ON BEHALF OF MY MINOR CHILD(REN) AND/1OR LEGAL WARDS AND I REPRESENT AND WARRANT TO IMPACT DANCE THAT I HAVE FULL AUTHORITY TO SIGN THIS AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF SUCH MINOR(S).
