Conduct and Etiquette Policy

At Mountain Valley Elite Dance Company, we are committed to creating a positive, respectful and supportive environment for all students, instructors and families. To maintain a professional and inclusive atmosphere, we as that all participants adhere to the following conduct and etiquette guidelines.

1. Peers
All students are expected to show respect towards their instructors and peers at all times. This included listening attentively, following instructions, and refraining from disruptive behavior. Instructors are here to help students grow and improve; please respect their feedback and guidance. Negative or inappropriate language, bullying or any form of disrespect will not be tolerated.

2. Punctuality
Students are expected to arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of their class to allow time for preparation. Arriving late disrupts the flow of class and can hinder progress. If a student arrives late, they should quietly join the class, respecting the instructor's directions for integrating into the ongoing activity.

3. Dress Code
Students are required to wear appropriate dance attire for all classes they attend. This includes leotards, tights, fitted tops, dance pants and the appropriate dance shoes for the style they are studying. (e.g., ballet shoes, jazz shoes, etc.) No street shoes are allowed in the dance rooms. Hair should be secured away from the face, preferably in a bun or ponytail, to ensure safety and allow for full participation in class. Jewelry and accessories that could pose safety risk or become a distraction should not be worn in class.


4. Studio Cleanliness
Students are responsible for keeping their belongings neatly stored in designated areas and for cleaning up after themselves. Personal items, including dance bags, water bottles and shoes, should be kept off the dance floor. Food and drinks, except water are not permitted in the studio space. Please dispose of trash properly and help keep our studio a clean and welcoming environment.

5. Positive Attitude and Supportive Environment
We strive to create a community where everyone feels valued and supported. Students are encouraged to cheer on their classmates and celebrate each other's achievements. Constructive feedback from peers is welcome when it is appropriate, but negative comments or criticism are not acceptable. Our studio promotes an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of skill level, feels welcome to learn and grow.

6. Attendance and Commitment
Regular attendance is crucial for student's progress and the success of the class as a whole. Students are expected to attend all classes and rehearsals, and to communicate with the instructor if they need to miss a class. Commitment to performance preparation, including extra rehearsals, is essential for those participating in recitals or other events. Please honor these commitments for the benefit of the entire group.

7. Studio Safety
Students must follow safety protocols and studio rules, including respecting personal space and using equipment properly. Running, horseplay, or any behavior that could easily result in injury is not allowed. Mountain Valley Elite Dance Company is a zero-tolerance environment for bullying, and any behavior that makes others feel unsafe will be addressed immediately.

8. Parental and Family Conduct
We encourage parents and families to support their dancers and foster a positive environment for all. Parents are welcome to observe classes during designated observation times. Any concerns or questions about student's progress should be directed to the instructor or studio management in a private and respectful manner. Parents and guardians are expected to support studio policies and help reinforce positive behavior and etiquette with their children.

9. Digital Device Usage
Cell phones and other digital devices are not permitted during class. Students should store their devices in their dance bags or leave them with a parent/guardian. Photography and video recording of classes are not allowed unless permission is given by the instructor.

10. Compliance and Consequences
Failure to follow the conduct and etiquette guidelines may result in a verbal warning, and repeated offenses could lead to temporary or permanent removal from classes or studio events.

Our goal is to provide a supportive and safe space for all dancers, and we appreciate everyone's cooperation in maintaining a positive environment.

Release of Liability and Waiver Agreement

This release of Liability and Waiver Agreement (the "Agreement") by and between Mountain Valley Elite Dance Company. ("MVEDC") and the undersigned individual(s)(the "Participant") and, if the Participant is a minor, the Participant's parent or legal guardian.

1. Acknowledgment of Risk
I, the undersigned, understand and acknowledge that participation in dance classes, performances and related activities involves certain inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, accidental falls, and other physical or emotional harm. I acknowledge that these risks cannot be entirely eliminated and that participation is voluntary and at the Participant's own risk.

2. Assumption of Risk
I voluntarily assume full responsibility for any risks of loss, personal injury, illness, damage or death that may result from participation in classes or activities at Mountain Valley Elite Dance Company, whether caused by the negligence of MVEDC, its instructors or other participants.

3. Medical Treatment
In the event of injury or illness, I authorize MVEDC to obtain necessary medical treatment for the Participant, including contacting emergency services or taking the Participant to a hospital if needed. I understand that I am responsible for all costs related to medical care or treatment that the Participant may require.

4. Release of Liability
In consideration for the opportunity to participate in dance classes and related activities, I hereby release, discharge, and hold harmless Mountain Valley Elite Dance Company, its owners, employees, instructors, agents and representatives from any and all claims, demands, damages, actions or causes of action arising from any personal injury, illness, or property damage that occurs while participating in any activity related to MVEDC, including but not limited to, classes, rehearsals, performances and travel to and from studio activities.

5. Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless MVEDC from any loss, liability, damage or cost (including attorney fees) that may arise from the Participant's participation in studio activities, whether cause by negligence or otherwise.

6. Photography and Video Release
I consent to and authorize MVEDC to use photographs, videos and other media that may include the Participant's likeness for promotional or educational purposes, including but not limited to the studio's website, social media and printed materials. I understand that no compensation will be provided for the use of these images.

7. Concussion and Injury Protocol
I understand that MVEDC follows the concussion protocols set by the state of Colorado. If the Participant sustains a head injury, I agree to follow the state guidelines for treatment and clearance before returning to class.

8. Governing Law
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Colorado. Any legal action arising from this Agreement shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Colorado.

9. Agreement to Terms
I acknowledge that I have read this Release of Liability and Waiver Agreement in its entirety, fully understand its terms, and voluntarily agree to be bound by them. I further acknowledge that by signing this document, I am giving up substantial rights, including rights to sue.

This release form covers risks, responsibility for medical treatment and general liability protections for the studio. Contact Brittney Van Treese if any adjustments are needed.

At Mountain Valley Elite Dance Company, the safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. While we take every precaution to ensure a safe environment, we recognize that medical emergencies can occur. Please review our policy regarding medical situations during class or studio activities.

1. Emergency Contact Information
All parents/guardians are required to provide current emergency contact information and disclose any relevant medical conditions or allergies upon registration. it is the responsibility of the parents to notify the studio of any changes to this information throughout the year.

2. First Aid Response
All staff members are required to be CPR, First Aid and AED certified. In the event of an injury or medical emergency, certified staff will provide immediate basic first aid (such as ice packs, bandages, or other necessary care) based on the situation.
if the injury appears to be serious, we will contact the parent/guardian immediately. In the case of a life-threatening emergency, 911 will be called first, and then the parent/guardian will be notified.

3. Medical Conditions & Allergies
Parents/guardians must inform the studio of any medical conditions, allergies or medications that could affect their child during class. This information helps us respond appropriately in case of an emergency.
If your child requires an inhaler, EpiPen, or other medication, it must be provided in a labeled container, and instructors will be briefed on how to assist if necessary.

4. In Case of Emergency
If a student is injured or falls ill during class and is unable to continue, parents/guardians will be called to pick up their child.
For serious injuries or health concerns that require immediate medical attention, emergency services will be contacted. A staff member will remain with the student until a parent/guardian or medical professional arrives.

5. Concussion Protocol
We adhere to all concussion protocols set by the state of Colorado. if a student sustains a head injury or shows signs of a concussion, they will be removed from participation immediately and evaluated. Parents/guardians will be notified, and the student will not be allowed to return to class until they have been cleared by a healthcare professional in accordance with Colorado State law.

6. Return to Class After Injury or Illness
If a student is recovering from a serious illness, injury or concussion, we request a doctor's note confirming that they are cleared to return to dance classes. This ensures that the student can participate safely.

7. Contagious Illnesses
Students who are experiencing any contagious symptoms (fever, vomiting, etc.) should remain home until they are symptom-free for at least 24 hours. Please notify the studio if your child has been diagnosed with any contagious illness so that we can take appropriate precautions to protect other students and staff members. If you have any questions or concerns about our medical emergencies policy, please do not hesitate to contact us. To ensure smooth operations and the best possible experience for all our dancers and families, please review our updated payment policies below:

1. Tuition Payments
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month for all students.
Payments may be made via your student portal, cash, or check.
A $15 late fee will be applied to any account not paid by the 5th of the month.

2. Missed Classes & Make-Ups
Tuition secures your dancer’s spot in class and is non-refundable for missed classes.
Make-up classes are available and can be scheduled with your instructor when space allows.

3. Withdrawal Policy
If you choose to withdraw from a class, written notice must be submitted by the 15th of the month to avoid charges for the following month.
No refunds will be issued for previous months.

4. Costume Fees & Recital Costs
Each recital costume—regardless of class or age level—will be $75.
This price reflects a middle-ground rate, balancing the cost differences between smaller youth costumes and larger teen/adult costumes, which often vary significantly in price. A uniform rate ensures fairness and consistency for all families.

Costume fees are due at Spring Registration on December 19th.

There are no additional recital fees for participation in the Spring 2026 recital.

5. Registration Fee
There is a $25 registration fee per student, due at the time of enrollment.
This fee covers administrative processing, insurance, online system maintenance, and the materials needed to set up each dancer’s account and class placement for the season.

6. Discounts
A 15% discount is applied to any student or family enrolled in 3 hours or more of weekly classes.

7. Returned Check Policy
A $25 fee will be applied to any returned check.
