The Dance House Policies, Waiver & Release Agreement
Welcome to The Dance House! We’re so excited to have your dancer join us! By registering for classes or participating in events, you agree to the following policies and waiver terms. These policies are designed to create a safe, respectful, and supportive experience for all students and families.
1. Liability Waiver
By enrolling in classes at The Dance House, I acknowledge and accept the risks inherent in dance and physical activity. On behalf of myself and my minor child(ren), I waive the right to hold The Dance House, its owners, staff, instructors, and facility liable for any injury or personal loss sustained before, during, or after classes, rehearsals, performances, or studio-related events, whether on or off the premises.
I understand that The Dance House does not provide medical insurance for students and agree that it is my responsibility to maintain appropriate personal or family health insurance coverage.
2. Medical Emergency Release
In the event of a medical emergency, I authorize The Dance House staff to administer basic first aid and to seek emergency medical assistance if necessary. I understand that every reasonable effort will be made to contact a parent or guardian immediately. I release The Dance House and its staff from any liability related to the handling of such emergencies.
3. Tuition & Payment Policies
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. A $25 late fee will be applied to payments received after the 10th.
Tuition and all associated fees (registration, production, costumes) are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Tuition is not prorated for missed classes, holidays, or studio closures.
Returned checks will incur a $30 service fee. Declined credit card payments may incur a $15 fee.
Students may not participate in classes unless their account is in good standing.
4. Refunds, Withdrawals & Missed Classes
A 30-day written notice (email accepted) is required to withdraw from any class.
A minimum two-month enrollment is required for all classes.
No refunds will be issued for missed classes, registration, or any fees already paid.
Make-up classes may be available in similar-level classes, space permitting.
5. Annual Performances & Costumes
Participation in annual performances requires a financial commitment to costume and production fees, which are non-refundable once costumes are ordered.
Costume orders placed after January 31st may not arrive in time for the performance.
6. Media Release
I grant permission to The Dance House to take photographs and videos of my child during classes, rehearsals, performances, and events. These may be used in promotional materials including, but not limited to: social media, printed brochures, the studio website, and other advertising efforts. If you wish to opt out of this release, please email us at thedancehousetx@gmail.com
7. Participation & Conduct Policy
At The Dance House, we strive to provide a positive and encouraging space for every dancer. To support this mission, we ask that:
Dancers arrive on time and dressed appropriately for class.
Respect for instructors, fellow dancers, and studio property is expected at all times.
Parents and guardians support studio expectations regarding attendance, rehearsal commitments, and behavior.
If a student struggles with conduct expectations, we’ll work together with the family to find the best resolution. In some cases, continued disruption may require removal from class or program.
Children under age 10 who are not in class must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Families should stay informed through studio emails, social media, and posted notices.
Please note: The Dance House is responsible for dancers only during their scheduled class time. Prompt pick-up is appreciated for everyone's safety.
8. Studio Rules & Safety Guidelines
Help us maintain a safe and welcoming space by observing the following:
Water only inside the studios — no food or sugary drinks, please.
Street shoes must be removed before stepping onto dance floors.
The Dance House is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.
Dancers should use the restroom before class to minimize mid-class breaks.
Restrooms are for restroom use only — no playing or loitering.
Important: Our restrooms are on a septic system. Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper. All other items must go in the trash bins provided.
9. Agreement
By registering with The Dance House, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to all of the policies and waiver terms outlined above. I certify that I am the legal parent or guardian of the enrolled child(ren) and am authorized to accept these terms on their behalf.
