We are excited to have your dancer join us for Season 2. The Dance House is a place where dancers grow in confidence, build friendships, work hard, and discover a lifelong love of dance.
This page covers our policies, dress code, attendance rules, and more. We want your family to feel informed and supported.

You agreed to the policies and waiver terms below when you registered in your Parent Portal. The Parent Portal required you to read and agree to these terms before registration was complete. You can review them here at any time, or in your Parent Portal under Info > Waivers. These policies keep the studio safe, respectful, and supportive for all families.
1. Liability Waiver
By enrolling at The Dance House, I accept the risks of dance and physical activity. On behalf of myself and my minor child(ren), I waive the right to hold The Dance House, its owners, staff, instructors, and facility liable for injury or loss before, during, or after classes, rehearsals, performances, or studio events, on or off the premises.
The Dance House does not provide medical insurance for students. I am responsible for my own health insurance coverage.
2. Medical Emergency Release
In a medical emergency, I authorize Dance House staff to give basic first aid and to call for emergency help if needed. Staff will try to reach a parent or guardian right away. I release The Dance House and its staff from liability related to handling such emergencies.
3. Attendance & Make-Up Classes
Regular attendance supports your dancer's progress and group choreography. Please make class attendance a priority.
Missed class due to illness: We will offer a make-up class, space permitting, in an existing class of the same or similar age/level.
Missed class for any other reason (vacation, scheduling conflict, etc.): No make-up class and no prorated tuition.
Studio-initiated cancellation (weather or other unforeseen event): We will offer a make-up class, space permitting.
Planned studio events & holidays: These are built into the season calendar. We do not offer make-up classes for them and no prorated tuition.
To schedule a make-up class, contact the studio directly. Make-ups cannot be arranged with instructors.
4. Dress Code
Dress code is relaxed and fun. Dancers may be as elaborate, sparkly, colorful, or expressive as they like. Our rules focus on safety, floor grip, and letting teachers see body lines when needed.
Back-to-Back Classes: Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Contemporary can run back-to-back on the same night. We recommend clothing that works across all styles a dancer is signed up for, so there is no need to change between classes. For Ballet, wear fitted or form-fitting clothing (leotard, tights, or athletic wear) so instructors can see and correct body position. If a dancer wears tights across multiple styles, we recommend convertible tights (they have a hole in the foot, so they work barefoot or with shoes).
No jeans or dresses in any class.
All skirts must have a leotard or shorts underneath.
Ballet: Ballet shoes required. Tights optional; convertible tights recommended if worn. Girls may wear leotard or any other form fitting athletic wear with pink ballet shoes. Boys may wear tight-fitting clothing or shorts with black ballet shoes.
Tap / Musical Theater-Tap: Black tap shoes. Athletic wear.
Hip Hop: Clean sneakers used only for class (not worn outside the studio). Hip-hop-style clothing welcome like baggy pants and t-shirts.
Jazz: Tan jazz shoes, half soles, foot "paws," or bare feet. Athletic wear.
Contemporary: Half soles, foot "paws," or bare feet. Athletic wear.
Acro/Tumbling: Bare feet. No socks or dresses. Leotards or fitted athletic wear.
Hair & Jewelry:
Hair pulled back and secured, especially for Acro.
No dangly jewelry in any class.
5. Tuition & Payment Policies
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month.
A $25 late fee applies to payments received after the 10th.
Tuition and all fees (registration, production, costumes) are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Tuition is not prorated for missed classes or events & holidays.
Pay through Dance Studio Pro, Zelle, or cash.
Returned checks incur a $30 fee. Declined credit cards may incur a $15 fee.
Students may not attend class unless their account is in good standing.
6. Refunds & Withdrawals
A written notice (email accepted) is required to withdraw from any class. Example: to withdraw before December, notify us by at least November, before December tuition is charged.
If you unenroll, a re-enrollment fee applies if you return later.
No refunds for missed classes, registration, or fees already paid.
Request class changes through the studio (email or text) — not with individual instructors.

7. Annual Performances & Costumes
Participation in annual performances requires a financial commitment to costume and production fees. These fees are non-refundable.
Recital and costume fees are announced closer to the date and collected in February and March. You are not required to participate in the recital. Save the date Recital- June 28 & 29, 2026
8. Media Release
I give The Dance House permission to photograph and video my child during classes, rehearsals, performances, and events. The studio may use this media in promotional materials, including social media, printed brochures, the website, and other advertising.
9. Participation & Conduct Policy
The Dance House provides a positive and encouraging space for every dancer. We ask that:
You please help dancers arrive ready to begin at the scheduled time. Instructors are there to teach. Parents pay for class time, so classes must start on time.
Do not discuss questions or concerns with instructors during or around class time. Instead, put questions or concerns in writing (email or text) to The Dance House. We will address them directly.
Everyone respects instructors, fellow dancers, and studio property.
Parents and guardians support studio expectations for attendance, rehearsals, and behavior.
If a student struggles with conduct, we will work with the family to find a resolution. Continued disruption may result in removal from class or program.
Children under age 10 who are not in class must have adult supervision at all times in the lobby or outside. You are free to drop off dancers for class times but please be on time for pick up or let us know if you are running late.
Families should stay informed through studio emails, social media, and posted notices.
The Dance House is responsible for dancers only during scheduled class time. Please pick up your dancer promptly.
10. Studio Rules & Safety Guidelines
Water only inside the studios. No food or sugary drinks.
Remove street shoes before stepping onto dance floors.
The Dance House is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.
Dancers should use the restroom before class to limit mid-class breaks.
Restrooms are for restroom use only — no playing or loitering.
Our restrooms are on a septic system. Flush only toilet paper. Put all other items in the trash bins provided. Please remind your dancers of this!
11. Studio Holidays & Closures
Season 2 begins Welcome Week, the week of August 24th, and runs through our Spring Recital on June 28 & 29.
We will communicate unexpected closures (weather or emergencies) by email and text through Dance Studio Pro.
12. Communications
We use Dance Studio Pro (email & text) for all class communications, cancellations, and updates. Please be sure to check your e-mail regularly.
Monthly Newsletter: We send a newsletter by email each month. Usually we send it at the end of the month, ahead of the next month. Please read and save each newsletter for reference — it covers upcoming dates and studio information.
During recital season, find schedules and details on our recital webpage.

We know it is easy to miss details in a long list of terms at sign-up. This page gives you an easy way to find and review these policies at any time.
13. Agreement
By registering with The Dance House, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agree to all policies and waiver terms above. I certify that I am the legal parent or guardian of the enrolled child(ren) and am authorized to accept these terms on their behalf.
