Welcome to Firefly Theatrical! We’re excited to have your child join us. Theater is a unique and collaborative art form that builds confidence, teamwork, creativity, and responsibility—all while having fun! To ensure a great experience for everyone, we have a few important guidelines.
Attendance & Rehearsals: Theater is a team effort, and all students are expected to attend every rehearsal, tech rehearsal, and performance. Excused absences include severe illness or a school-related obligation that affects a grade. Frequent absences may result in changes to a student’s role, as missed material cannot always be reworked.
Refund Policy: If a student withdraws, we offer a prorated credit for future classes but cannot issue refunds for attended sessions. Many production costs, including director fees and licensing, are non-refundable, even if a performance cannot take place.
Communication & Safety: Please read all emails thoroughly before reaching out with questions. We use the Remind app for quick updates and ask all families to download it. Our location is in a busy shopping center, so students should wait inside after class for pickup to ensure safety.
Dress Code & Personal Items: Students should wear comfortable, dance-friendly clothing such as leggings, a tee, or sweatpants. Black jazz shoes are preferred, and hair should be pulled back. Food is not allowed unless rehearsals exceed four hours. Every student should bring a labeled water bottle.
Cell Phones & Devices: To encourage focus, personal devices are not allowed during class, except for recording music or blocking.
Tickets & Performances: Tickets are $15 and sold online, with many shows selling out in advance. Due to copyright laws, recording performances is not permitted, though photos (without flash) are allowed.
Volunteering: Parents are encouraged to get involved with our Parents' Association! We rely on volunteers to help create a great experience. Sign-up opportunities will be shared each semester.
Casting & Attitude: Casting decisions are final and made with the best interests of all students in mind. We ask parents and students to embrace their roles with enthusiasm, knowing that every part contributes to the success of the production.
Scripts & Memorization: Students must bring their script and a pencil to every rehearsal. Lost scripts may require a $50 replacement fee. Memorizing lines is essential—students who do not learn their lines on time may have them reassigned to ensure the quality of the production.
By participating in Firefly Theatrical, you agree to these terms and commit to making this experience positive for all. Thank you for being part of our theater family!
