Nemesis Cheer and Dance 2025–2026 Athlete Agreement1. Attendance Policy

Competitive Athletes:

- Required to attend all training sessions and competitions.

- Acceptable absences: illness (with notice), bereavement, emergency, major injury, school exam/performance, holiday (with 1 week’s notice).

- Unexcused absences (e.g., homework, other sports, poor time keeping) will result in a strike.

- 3 strikes or less than 60% attendance, misses choreography weekend = removal from team (no refund).

- Missed routines will not be re-taught; athletes must arrange to catch up.

- Missing a competition without proof = team removal and ineligibility for next year’s team.



Recreational Athletes:

- You commit to a full term once payment is made.

- Showcase participants must attend regularly or risk removal from the performance.



Adult Athletes:

- Let us know 24 hours in advance of absence where possible.

- Below 50% attendance may result in removal from team.

2. Dress Code

- Hair tied up; no jewellery, denim, dresses, or skirts.

- Cheer shoes or coach-approved white trainers must be worn.

- Bring water. No food/gum unless medically required.

- Inhalers/medications must be brought to class and disclosed to coaches.

3. Behaviour Policy

- Athletes and parents must treat others with respect.

- Bullying, staff abuse, or negative behaviour (including online) = removal from team or club.

- Report concerns directly to coaching staff for resolution.

4. Payment Policy

- Full term/class fees due before the first class.

- No pay-as-you-go.

- Unpaid athletes will be removed from class and not entered into competitions/uniform orders.

- Competition entries, uniforms, and bus fees are non-refundable.

- Dropping out after paying = no refund (these fees are already paid to suppliers and cannot be recovered).

5. Arrival/Collection

- Arrive no more than 10 minutes early. Disruptive early arrivals will not be permitted again.

- Primary children must be collected from the bottom of the stairs.

- Late pickups (15+ minutes late, more than twice per month) = £5 late fee per occurrence.

6. Insurance

- Club is insured via Insure4Sport. Athletes can optionally purchase individual insurance for added coverage.

- Cheerleading involves risk. Signing this contract confirms you understand that Nemesis is not liable for injuries during regular, rule-followed activity.

- In an emergency, you authorise first aid and/or hospital treatment if you cannot be contacted.

7. Commitment

You commit to regular participation, hard work, and respect for the club. Progress takes time and effort. Let coaches know of any medical or health changes.

8. Refund Policy

- Term payments and all external fees (competition, travel, uniforms) are non-refundable once submitted.

- This applies even if you later choose to withdraw.

- If you drop out after paying competition or uniform fees, you will not be refunded, as the money has already been submitted and it costs the club money to remove your athlete.

Collection Policy:
Our policy requires primary school children be picked up from inside the building. If you give permission for your athlete to leave the building without staff seeing an appropriate adult, tick 'Yes'.

Declaration

Competitive Athletes:

I agree that my athlete will attend all practices and competitions from 21 July 2025 to 1 July 2026. I understand that failure to follow these terms may result in removal from the team.



Recreational Athletes:

I confirm I have read and understand the club’s terms. I accept that non-compliance may result in removal from the programme.





Nemesis Cheer and Dance – Behaviour Agreement

This Behaviour Agreement outlines the expectations for all athletes and parents/guardians at Nemesis Cheer and Dance. By signing up to class, you agree to uphold the values and policies of the club, including the Child Protection Policy and Anti-Bullying Policy.

1. Athlete Expectations

• Treat all teammates, coaches, and volunteers with respect.

• Use positive and encouraging language at all times.

• Avoid any behaviour that could cause physical or emotional harm to others.

• Follow the instructions of coaches and staff promptly and respectfully.

• Refrain from bullying, name-calling, gossip, or exclusionary behaviour.

2. Parent/Guardian Expectations

• Model respectful behaviour towards all athletes, parents, and staff.

• Avoid negative discussions about other athletes or families, both in person and online.

• Support the coaching staff in enforcing club rules and policies.

• Raise concerns directly and privately with staff, not in front of athletes or other parents.

• Ensure your child understands and follows the club’s behaviour expectations.

3. Consequences of Breaching this Agreement

If these expectations are not met, the club may take the following actions:
• Verbal reminder or warning
• Formal written warning
• Suspension from training or events
• Removal from the team or club

Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk

Participation in cheerleading, dance, tumbling, stunting and related activities involves inherent risks. While Nemesis Cheer & Dance is committed to providing a safe training environment with qualified coaches and appropriate safety procedures, it is not possible to eliminate all risks associated with participation.

By registering with Nemesis Cheer & Dance, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in cheerleading, dance, tumbling, stunting, strength and conditioning, competitions and related activities carries inherent risks of injury ranging from minor to serious. Despite appropriate coaching, supervision and safety procedures, accidents can occur.

I voluntarily choose to participate (or allow my child to participate) and accept these inherent risks.

I also understand that participation may involve appropriate physical contact with coaches and other athletes for spotting, supporting, skill instruction, corrections and safety purposes. All physical contact will be carried out appropriately and only where necessary to provide safe coaching and instruction.

Medical Fitness

I confirm that I (or my child) am medically fit to participate in classes and activities offered by Nemesis Cheer & Dance.

I agree to inform the club immediately of any:

- Medical conditions
- Injuries
- Allergies
- Changes to medication
- Physical limitations that may affect safe participation

Failure to disclose relevant medical information may prevent participation and may affect the club's ability to respond appropriately in an emergency.

Following Instructions

I understand that the safety of all athletes depends upon following coach instructions at all times.

I agree that I (or my child) will:

- Follow all coaching instructions.
- Use equipment appropriately.
- Behave safely and respectfully.
- Wear suitable clothing and footwear.
- Report any injury, illness or pain immediately.

Failure to follow safety instructions may result in temporary or permanent removal from participation.

Injury & Medical Treatment

I understand that accidents and injuries may occur despite appropriate coaching and safety precautions.

In the event of an accident or medical emergency, I authorise Nemesis Cheer & Dance to administer basic first aid and, where considered necessary, seek appropriate emergency medical treatment for myself or my child.

I understand that every reasonable effort will be made to contact the parent, guardian or emergency contact as soon as possible.

Concussion & Head Injury

I understand that participation in cheerleading, dance, tumbling and stunting may involve a risk of concussion or other head injuries.

I agree that if I, or my child, sustain a blow to the head or display signs or symptoms of a concussion during training, competitions or club activities, participation will stop immediately and the athlete may not be permitted to return to activity until it is considered safe to do so.

I understand that Nemesis Cheer & Dance may require medical clearance before an athlete returns to training or competition following a suspected concussion or significant head injury.

I agree to inform the club of any diagnosed concussion or head injury sustained outside of Nemesis Cheer & Dance activities if it may affect the athlete's ability to participate safely.

Personal Property

Nemesis Cheer & Dance accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft or damage of personal belongings brought to classes, competitions or club events.

Athletes bring personal items entirely at their own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nemesis Cheer & Dance, its owners, coaches, volunteers and representatives shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, damage or expense arising from participation in club activities, except where such liability cannot legally be excluded, including liability arising from negligence resulting in death or personal injury.

Nothing in this waiver excludes or limits any rights you have under UK law.

Photography by Third Parties

I understand that competitions, showcases and public events may be photographed or filmed by event organisers, professional photographers, spectators and other third parties.

Nemesis Cheer & Dance has no control over the collection, use or publication of these images and accepts no responsibility for third-party photography or videography.

Acceptance of Risk

By completing registration, I confirm that:

- I have read and understood this Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk.
- I understand the risks associated with participation in cheerleading, dance and related activities.
- I voluntarily accept these risks for myself or on behalf of my child.
- I agree to comply with all club policies, safety rules and coach instructions.
- I understand that participation is voluntary and undertaken at my own risk.
