Studio Handbook
2026 Winter & Spring Session
This is the 2026 Winter and Spring session handbook. This session runs 16 weeks for all youth
classes, Adult Tap, Adult Ballet and Adult Jazz.
Important:
• Student enrolled in all performance classes – including all youth class,
adult tap, adult jazz and adult ballet – are expected to purchase costumes
and participate in the year-end recital, including the mandatory rehearsal
on Friday, May 15 and recital on Saturday, May 16.
• Prior to registering for these classes, if you cannot participate in
either the rehearsal or the recital, but are still interested in taking
class for the full session – please reach out to
leadvilledance@gmail.com to discuss.
• Please thoroughly read the below information regarding tuition, fees and
class & enrollment expectations below. There are several new, important
sections in the handbook this session.
• To minimize noise and distractions, families/viewers are not permitted to stay and
watch any class – including Pre-k, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 or adult classes –
unless otherwise noted.
• One exception for Pre-k parents, while you will be asked to remain out
of the room for the majority of class, you will be invited into class
weekly during the last 5 minutes to watch a few skills students have
learned that day.
• Note: we ask that Pre-k students be ready to function away from caregivers, but
recognize that this can be a challenging and developing skill at this age. We are
happy to work with parents/families to best support their child to participate in
class – and may need to build to their child being without their caregiver,
especially during the first several weeks as your child gets used to class and builds
confidence going into the classroom.
• For all classes, we have a waiting area outside of our room that families are
welcome to remain in during class. Please be mindful of noise as we share a
building with other businesses.
• Questions/concerns about our viewing policy? Please reach out!
Registration & Waitlist:
Register online at Studio-Pro. You can download the free Studio-Pro app (please ensure you
download the Portal App and not the Studio Manager app), or access the aforementioned
link via a browser on your desktop, laptop or mobile device. Please note, the website works
best on a desktop/laptop, but can also be accessed from a mobile device.
All performance-based classes have a maximum number of students allowed to ensure safety
and enjoyment for all, which is noted on the class registration page on Studio-Pro.
If a class is full and you wish to participate, you can add a student to the waitlist through
Studio-Pro and/or reach out to leadvilledance@gmail.com to discuss options. You are
strongly encouraged to add a student to the waitlist should a class be full, because 1) should a
spot open up by mid-February, you will be added to the class in the order as you appear on
the waitlist, and 2) if your child does not receive a spot in the current session, they will be
offered a spot the next session that we offer that same class.
In that next session (Fall/Winter 2026), your student will be automatically enrolled and you
can then decide if the student wishes to take that class or not – but your spot is secured as
soon as registration opens.
Drop-in Information:
Performance Classes
Students may drop into any open performance-based class the first 3 weeks of the
session only – which includes all youth classes, Adult Ballet, Adult Tap and Adult Jazz. For
the 2026 Winter & Spring session, students may drop-in from Friday, January
16 through Thursday, February 5. If a student wishes to participate in the full session,
they must register by Friday, February 6, 2026.
Drop-ins are typically not allowed for session-based classes starting Friday 6, 2026 through
the remainder of the session. This allows each individual student and the class as a whole to
focus on skill and technique building, while also learning choreography and routines
together in preparation for the end of session recital. Questions? Please reach out as we try
to be as flexible as possible.
Non-Performance Classes
Drop-ins are always permitted at our non-performance (NP) adult classes, including
ZUMBA® and Sculpt Lab for the 2026 Winter & Spring session. We will be adding
additional adult workshops that will permit drop-ins as well – including Line Dancing,
Swing, and Hip-hop. These adult classes do not culminate in a session-end showcase. All
skill levels are welcome for adult drop-in classes. Students must be 18 years or older. You do
not need to register ahead for adult drop-in classes, but are welcome to via Studio-Pro.

important dates.
There will be no classes (performance or non-performance) the week of Spring Break (March
9 – March 14) following Lake County School District’s schedule. This week is not included in
the 16 weeks of class.
In the event of an emergency school and/or community closure, Leadville Dance Collective
will assess each situation on a case-by-case basis and determine if it is safe or not for classes
to be held. We always want to be cautious, and will work with the Sheriff’s office to make
this judgement call. You will be communicated by email and text, if needed. If LDC cancels a
class due to an emergency or safety issue, we will communicate any change to tuition or
other fees, if applicable and as determined by LDC.

✓ Tuition is priced for the full session, with the option to pay upfront or through
installments. Once a student is registered for a session class(es), you do not pay by
class. During the drop-in period (noted above) is only when there’s an option to pay
by class if a student is not yet fully registered for the session. Thus, if a student is
registered for a performance-based class and misses class, no refunds will be provided
since the tuition is priced for the session. Please see the “Refund Policy” and
“Enrollment & Tuition Expectations” sections below for more details.
✓ When registering, your account will default to setting up on an installment plan.
The total you will initially see will include the first installment and session
registration fee (if applicable). If you wish to pay for the session upfront, please
email Leadville Dance Collective and your account balance will be manually
updated. If you pay for the entire session upfront – which is permitted during the
registration period and up until Fri. January 23 – you will receive a 10%
discount.
✓ There is an option to sign-up for autopay through Studio-Pro. If you do so,
your card will be charged on the below installment dates.
Installment payments are due by the following dates:
• Friday, January 23, 2026
• Friday, February 27, 2026
• Friday, March 27, 2026 (this installment will also include the recital fee and costume fee)
• Friday, April 24, 2026 (this installment will also include the picture fee, if applicable)
✓ For families with multiple students participating in a session, the
second/third/fourth/etc. family member each receive a 10% discount on their
session’s tuition (regardless of how and when you pay). The first student pays full
price.
✓ If you are awarded a scholarship for the 2026 Winter/Spring session, tuition for one
class is waived. Scholarship recipients will be required to pay a non
refundable costume fee and recital participation fee. Please see
scholarship application for more information.
✓ We accept cash, check, Venmo, Zelle and credit cards. Please note, we charge a ~3%
convenience fee for credit card transactions. There is no fee when paying by all other
methods.
Important: if a student is enrolled in a performance-based class, the expectation is that the
student/family pays the entire tuition for the session – either upfront or through installments – as well as all other applicable fees. If a student drops the class during the session (outside of
the drop-in period), please thoroughly review the below “Enrollment and Tuition
Expectations” section of this document, as in most cases the student/family is still required to
pay a portion or all of the remaining tuition and/or dues.
Non-Performance Adult Drop-in Classes– includes ZUMBA® and Sculpt Lab for the
2026 winter/spring session, in addition to any Adult workshops that are announced:
• Drop-in: $10 per class

Additionally, we do not offer refunds for drop-in classes, tuition or punch passes unless it is
an extremely emergent situation. This is determined on case-by-case basis by Leadville Dance
Collective. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions regarding a refund or
beyond.
If a student is asked to drop a class by Leadville Dance Collective for behavior reasons, our
refund and tuition policy will still apply. Please see the below “Class Expectations” and
“Enrollment and Tuition Expectations” sections for more details.
Class Expectations
At Leadville Dance Collective, we are committed to creating a safe, positive, and engaging
learning environment where every student can grow, move, and have fun. To ensure all
students have an enjoyable and rewarding experience, we ask students and families to follow
and support the below expectations:
Student Expectations
• Listen and follow directions at all times.
• Show respect to instructors, fellow students, and the studio space.
• Stay engaged and participate to the best of their ability during all class activities.
• Use kind words and actions, and help create a welcoming environment for everyone.
• Practice safe movement and follow studio safety guidelines, including but not limited
to keeping hands to themselves at all times.
Classroom Structure
• Teachers will review class rules – the above and any other rules pertinent to class – at
the beginning of class each week. This will include all class levels, from Pre-k to Level
3.
• It is essential that students listen and follow these rules so that everyone can learn, feel
supported, and enjoy their time in class.
• Consistent routines help students build confidence, focus, and embrace teamwork –
essential for dance and movement classes.
If a student is not adhering to the above expectations and after routinely being
informed during class, a parent/family member will be notified. If a student
fails to continually follow these expectations, the student will potentially be
asked to drop the class for the remainder of the session and not participate in
the recital. Please see the tuition and refund policy sections for more
information, which applies even when a student is asked to drop a class for
behavioral reasons.
Enrollment & Tuition Expectations
By enrolling in a class at Leadville Dance Collective, families agree to the following policies:
• Tuition Commitment: Once a student is enrolled in a class, tuition is required and must
be paid according to the established installment due dates. See tuition section above for
more details on deadlines.
• Attendance vs. Enrollment: Attendance is tracked weekly; however, not attending class
does not automatically remove a student from a class/enrollment. Tuition totals
remains\ in place regardless of attendance/missing class.
• Required Participation: Enrollment includes the expectation that students will actively
participate every week, as well as participate in the rehearsal and the end-of-session
recital, unless otherwise noted.
• Dropping a Class: If a student needs to drop a class for any reason, families must:
o Email Leadville Dance Collective, or
o Officially drop the class through the StudioPro website.
• Important: If a student needs to drop a class after being fully enrolled and outside the
drop-in period, here is our new tuition drop policy. Please see the “Tuition” and
“Refund” sections above for more information.
o If a student drops a class(es) between Fri. February 6 and Thurs.
February 26, a family on an installment plan will owe 30% of the remaining
tuition balance, but will not be required to pay the recital fee ($30) or the
costume fee ($60). The $30 registration fee is non-refundable.
o If a student drops a class(es) between Fri. February 6 and by Thurs.
February 26 and paid the tuition upfront, you will receive a 50% refund of the
entire tuition total that was paid, and will not be required to pay the recital fee
($30) or the costume fee ($60). The $30 registration fee is non-refundable.
o If a student drops a class between Fri. February 27 and Thurs. March 26,
you will be required to pay 50% of the remaining tuition balance and the
costume fee ($60). You will not be required to pay the $30 recital participation
fee. The $30 registration fee is non-refundable.
o If a student drops a class between Fri. March 27 up until the end of the
session, you will be required to pay the remaining tuition in full, the costume
fee ($60), and the recital participation fee ($30). The $30 registration fee is
non-refundable.
For medical and/or extreme circumstances, the above policy may shift and allow for more
flexibility, determined on a case-by-case basis by Leadville Dance Collective.
The above policies help us plan classes, staff appropriately, and ensure a high-quality
experience for all dancers.
What level am I in?
Classes are generally based on age, not experience. If you are a current student at LDC, you
received guidance at the end of the 2025 Fall/Winter session on which classes to take
during this session – based on both age and experience. Upon registering, this guidance
applies to current students only.
If a student has experience from another studio, has never taken the specific class at LDC,
and/or if they were not actively enrolled last session (Sept – Dec 2025), they will first need
to enroll in their age-appropriate class. Then, during the session we can potentially explore
leveling up after several weeks of class, decided upon by LDC staff considering several
factors – skill, age and more.
Generally, all experience levels are welcome within each class. Students will be taught a
variety of skills – some more challenging than others – so no matter the level of experience,
students will continue to learn and grow. We will ensure students are appropriately
challenged –a fine balance to ensure your child is enjoying class while also learning at a
pace that is most appropriate for them.
If you have a student on the cusp of a certain age group, unsure which class would be best,
or other questions about levels, please contact leadvilledance@gmail.com.
Here are the levels, based on age:
• Pre-k* – ages 3 to 5
• Level 1* – ages 6 to 8
• Level 2* – ages 9 to 11
• Level 3* – ages 12 to 17
• Adult – ages 18 and older
*Important note – The above age groups are for our dance technique and fitness classes.
Age ranges for tumbling classes are structured slightly differently:
• Pre-k Tumbling - ages 3 and 4
We are not offering any older tumbling classes next session, but this is the age structure:
• Level 1 Tumbling – ages 5 to 7
• Levels 2 & 3 Tumbling – ages 8 to 17
✓ At this time, we do not offer classes for students under age 3.
✓ Pre-k students must be ready to mostly function away from their caregiver, be ready to
focus in class, listen, follow directions, wait their turn, and stay on their spot, among
other skills. If your child is not potty trained, please email Leadville Dance Collective
ahead of the session starting. This does not necessarily mean they cannot take class,
but it is helpful for staff know going into class.
What should I wear to class?
*Legs must be covered for all classes – including tights and leggings*
*No jeans – if wearing pants, they must be athletic, stretchy attire*
*No jewelry or gum allowed during class*
*Hair must be up and out of the face at all times. If hair is too short for a ponytail, please
ensure hair is pulled back; fully off the face and not a distraction*
Ballet: Leotard (or form fitting top) and tights (white, pink, tan or black). For bottoms:
leggings, dance skirt or other form fitting bottoms are appropriate. Hair must be pulled
back in a bun or ponytail. If hair is not long enough to put up, please ensure it is pulled back
off of the face. No baggy clothing or jeans. Legs must be covered for all classes (tights or
leggings). Ballet shoes are required. No bare feet or socks.
Jazz: Leotard (or form fitting top) and tights of any color, plus leggings or other form fitting
bottoms. Hair must be pulled back in a bun or ponytail. If hair is not long enough to put up,
please ensure it is pulled back off of the face. No baggy clothing or jeans. Legs must be
covered for all classes (tights or leggings). Jazz shoes are required. No bare feet or socks.
Jazz Funk (Hip-hop/Jazz): Leotard or fitted shirt for tops; leggings or athletic pants for
bottoms – absolutely no jeans. Inversions may be practiced in class, so a fitted shirt or
leotard is recommended. No bare legs. Hair must be pulled back and/or off the face. Jazz
sneakers or jazz shoes are strongly preferred. If not, clean gym shoes/sneakers are
required. If you have a pair of gym shoes you wear outside, you must clean the bottom of
the shoes (a toothbrush works great), and set them aside for this class. No bare feet or
socks.
Tap: Leotard or fitted shirt for tops; leggings or athletic pants for bottoms – absolutely no
jeans. Please wear clothing that is comfortable to move in, but not baggy. Pants cannot drag
on the floor, for safety reasons. Legs must be covered for all classes (tights or
leggings/pants). Hair must be pulled back in a ponytail and/or off of the face. Tap shoes are
required.
Tumbling: Leotard or fitted shirt for tops; leggings, shorts or athletic pants for bottoms –
absolutely no jeans. Inversions may be practiced in class, so a fitted shirt or leotard is
recommended. Hair must be pulled back into a ponytail and/or off the face. Bare feet
required. No socks or shoes for safety reasons.
ZUMBA®: Breathable, sweat-wicking clothing that lets you move freely. This can include
fitness leggings, shorts, athletic tops, t-shirts – but anything that lets you shake it works
great. For footwear, please wear clean sneakers.
Sculpt Lab: Breathable, sweat-wicking clothing that lets you move freely. This can include
leggings, shorts, athletic tops, t-shirts, etc. Ideally nothing too baggy. Footwear can include
clean sneakers, socks, ballet shoes or jazz shoes.
Line Dancing: Comfortable clothing – which can include breathable, sweat-wicking clothing
that lets you move freely or your best western wear (denim, etc.). Our studio gets warm, so
be prepared to shed some layers. Footwear can include clean sneakers or boots. Sandals or
open back shoes are strongly discouraged as Line Dancing includes a lot of footwork.
FAQs:
I do not have proper dance footwear. What can I do?
We have a Shoe Swap system, free of charge. If your shoes no longer fit or you do not own
the appropriate footwear, come to our Shoe Swap. We have ballet slippers, jazz shoes, tap
shoes and jazz sneakers for a variety of ages. We encourage you to leave your old shoes for
another dancer to use when they need it, but that is not required. If you currently do not
own shoes, you are welcome to use the Shoe Swap too.
Our Shoe Swap system is often in high demand, and we may not have your/your child’s size.
If that is the case, you will need to purchase shoes on your own. If you plan to utilize the
shoe swap system for classes starting in 2026, please reach out ASAP on which type(s) of
shoes are needed; age of student; and size. It is ideal for students to come prepared
and ready in proper footwear on the first day of class.
I’m in need of a leotard, tights or other class attire. What can I do?
We have new and gently used leotards – for ages 3 to adult. We also have new tights in a
variety of sizes. Inquire with us about getting a leotard and tights. We charge a nominal fee
for new and gently used attire.
How do punch passes work for adult drop-in classes?
Punch passes can be used for any adult drop-in classes. For the 2026 Winter/Spring session,
this includes Sculpt Lab, ZUMBA®, and any other workshops. The regular drop-in rate for
these classes is $10. With a punch pass, you receive 5 classes for $45 or 10 classes for $80.
They are valid for 6 months from point of purchase. You can purchase them online through
our Studio-Pro portal or in-person. Punch passes are virtual, so you will not receive a
printed pass, but you may print one via the portal if you wish. Punch passes cannot be
transferred between individuals.
