R5 Studio Policy
1. NO EATING IN CLASS, EVER:
a. Only water is allowed in the studio. If you are found to be eating or drinking anything besides water, the account on file will be charged $5 for every offense. This fee will go towards the hired cleaning staff. This is solely to keep the studio in pristine condition as we try to move forward with remodeling.
2. GUM WILL NEVER BE TOLERATED:
a. If you enter the studio chewing gum, you will automatically be charged a $5 fee. Chewing gum is also a safety issue and will be held to the highest standard.
3. Lost and found:
a. Your personal belongings always belong with you. Do not leave your things (ex. Dance shoes, clothes, cups, etc) anywhere in the studio.
i. After 7 days, to receive your things back, your account will be charged a $5 fee. This fee will go towards the hired cleaning staff. It is our goal to keep the studio neat and organized.
4. Safety:
a. When you enter the dance room, you are to neatly put your things to the side of the room. Do not have your belongings spread everywhere as this could become a safety hazard.
5. Profanity:
a. Cursing by students or parents, will not be permitted at anytime; inside or outside of the property of the studio(s).
i. 1st offense: written warning
ii. 2nd offense: 2 class suspension
iii. 3rd offense: immediate removal from all programs within the studio(s)
1. No refunds will be given.
6. Observations:
a. No parents are allowed in the studio or lobby during sessions. This is to ensure that the students are fully focused on their given class time, as well as keeping the lobby available for the next classes students. If/when we want to have a “show-off”, we will give prior notice for parents to attend. However, you must remain in your car until 10 minutes before the end of class.
7. Schedule:
a. Although we do assign a time frame for our classes, there may/will be times a class may run over the allotted time, especially the last class of the day. We will do our best to avoid this however, please expect this occurrence. If this is an issue for you, please consider an alternative class.
8. Cancelation:
a. If you wish to cancel a class, you must give a 15-day notice before your expected auto-draft. If you do not give proper notice, you will be held responsible for the next payment, with no return of tuition.
9. Class dress code:
a. You are to arrive to class in appropriate and approved attire.
b. No outside shoes past the lobby area.
c. Your hair needs to be pulled back and out of your face.
d. No jewelry is permitted beyond stud earrings.
10. Tuition:
a. Due on the 1st of every month through auto-draft. There will be no pro-rating for any reason.
b. Auto-draft payment
i. You cannot at anytime remove your automatic payment from your account.
1. Doing so will immediately suspend any classes your child is enrolled in, as well as a 10% charge for the removal. If you need an alternative payment plan, please contact Amber. All payment plans are at the discretion of Amber.
c. Late fees are as follow:
i. 12 a.m. the following day of the due payment, you will be charged a 15% late fee for any unpaid balance.
ii. After, you will be charged an additional 15% for any and all unpaid balance, for every 3 days you are late. This will continue until the entirety of the balance is paid. After 30 days of nonpayment, your child will be dropped from all courses they are registered in. There will be no refunds of any sort. If you need an alternative payment plan, please contact Amber. All payment plans are at the discretion of Amber.
11. Classroom etiquette
a. Respectful behavior
i. Dancers are expected to be polite, listen attentively, and never downgrade another student.
b. No talking
i. Excessive talking can and will cause disruption to the class and cause delay of lessons.
c. Cell phone use:
i. Cell phones must be kept on silent in your bag, always, while inside any part of the studio. This is to avoid any necessary disruption and staying respectful to others.
d. Punctuality
i. If at any given moment the studio needs to shut down for any reason (weather, power outage, etc), you will be notified immediately.
ii. Arriving on time is essential to participate fully in all aspects of the lesson.
1. If you are excessively late, you will be called in for a conference to find a solution.
i. Regular attendance is encouraged, and absences may impact a dancer’s progress and ability to perform in any performances
ii. Student/parent must notify the instructor of an absence or tardiness
iii. Make-up classes will be offered; however, you are allotted one class a month at no additional charge. After that, there will be a $15 dollar make-up fee that will be paid directly to the instructor.
2. If being absent becomes excessive, you will forfeit your spot in any numbers for recital and/or competition.
a. This is at the discretion of the staff and owner.
3. If you make-up the class, it will not be held against you.
4. THERE ARE ZERO REFUNDS FOR MISSED CLASSES.
e. Respect for instructors
i. Dancers are to show respect to ANY instructor or staff member at any time.
ii. At the end of every class, the studio must be cleared of any trash or belongings.
12. Photography and filming:
a. No pictures or filming is allowed unless otherwise permitted by the owner, Roger, and the instructor.
b. Any video taken is considered property of the studio and should be treated as such.
c. No one should share or show the video to anyone outside of the students in that class.
13. Communication:
a. Every class will have a GroupMe with every parent/student, instructor, owner, and manager.
i. This will be the main line of communication for everyone within the class.
b. It is up to the instructor if they wish to give you their personal number.
14. Chain of command:
a. Instructor in reference to a student
i. Roger/Amber
b. Parent/student in reference to the instructor
i. Roger/Amber
c. Finances/Policy
i. Amber
d. Please do your best to follow chain of command. Communication is especially important; however, it is not always about what you say, but how you say it. Speak to one another in a respectful manner. If one is unable to come to an understanding, then moving up the chain of command is appropriate.
