By signing up for the Shoreline Dance Company Parent Portal I agree that I am the person responsible for the dancer(s) that will be associated with this account. I understand that this parent portal will be the studio's main source of communicating any and all information. I agree to check my portal on a regular basis and ensure that the information in the portal is correct and up to date.

I am enrolling my child or myself in dance, a program of strenuous physical activity. I hereby affirm that the enrolled persons are in good physical condition and do not suffer from any disability that would prevent or limit participation in our programs of dance or other activities. Each enrolled person has the right to decline participation in any activity that they are not comfortable with or which they feel may be harmful. Since dance is a physical activity, injury may occur. Each student, parent or guardian is fully responsible for any injuries or harm occurring before, during or after a class at Shoreline Dance Company. It is required that all students be covered by their family's insurance; as this is the sole source of reimbursement, and that said insurance is adequate for the protection of your child.

I, for myself, my children, my heirs and assigns, hereby release Shoreline Dance Company, the owners and family, and the employees, from any claims, demands and causes of action arising from my or the enrolled person’s participation in any of the programs offered.

I also understand that photos and videos may be taken throughout the year and Shoreline Dance Company, and its agents may use these images for advertising and promotional purposes. By signing, I hereby affirm that I have read & fully understand and agree with the above waiver and have read & fully understand the studio policies.

•Attendance: Consistent attendance is crucial for progress. Please notify the studio if a dancer will be absent. Missing multiple rehearsals leading up to a performance may result in being removed from the choreography.

•Studio Etiquette: Students are expected to arrive on time, dressed in proper dance attire, with hair secured away from the face. Bullying or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the program.

Registration secures a specific day and time for your dancer’s instruction. To maintain high-quality training and smaller class sizes. Schedules are subject to minor adjustments to ensure optimal class sizes and instruction quality
•Tentative Schedules: You will receive a tentative schedule upon registration.
•Changes: While we strive for consistency, we may adjust schedules due to enrollment needs or unforeseen circumstances. Families will be notified promptly of any necessary changes.

Disruptive behavior, foul language, and "drama" are not tolerated from students, parents, or family members. Shoreline Dance Company is a professional environment; anyone failing to maintain this standard may be asked to leave and may not be permitted back on site.

Our award-winning competitive program is open to dancers ages 5 and older. This program requires a higher level of commitment and specialized training.
•Summer Requirements: Hopefuls must participate in our summer session, including Technique and Ballet/Lyrical/Contemporary, plus at least two additional styles.
•Season Requirements (Fall–Spring): Team members are required to take Turns/Leaps and Ballet/Lyrical, in addition to the recreational style corresponding to their competitive routine.
•Specialty Routines: Solos, duets, and trios are available to dancers with at least one year of team experience who are currently enrolled in a group routine.
•Inquiries: Prospective team members should contact the studio office or Mrs. Terra to schedule a placement evaluation. Additional fees apply for all competitive programs.

Our goal is to ensure every student is in an environment where they can thrive. Dancers are placed into classes based on:

•Age and past training.
•Technical ability and individual work ethic.
•Willingness to learn and receptiveness to feedback.

Final placement is at the sole discretion of the artistic director and faculty.
Placement is reviewed annually; moving up a level is based on individual progress and technical mastery rather than years of enrollment.

Proper attire ensures dancers can move freely and instructors can see body alignment.

•Attire: While traditional dancewear (leotards and tights) is encouraged, it is not required. However, please avoid jeans, dress clothes, or any restrictive clothing. Dancers are always welcome to wear previous costumes to class!

•Labeling: Because many students have identical items, please ensure ALL personal belongings (shoes, bags, attire) are clearly labeled with the student’s name or initials.

•Required Shoes by Style:
o Ballet: Pink ballet shoes (unless approved for pointe).
o Tap: Black tap shoes.
o Jazz: Tan jazz shoes.
o Hip-Hop: Sneakers or tennis shoes.
o Clogging: White clogging shoes with taps pre-attached.

•Sourcing Gear: Shoes can be found at local dance stores in Myrtle Beach (Imaginations) or Wilmington (Dance Express), online, or at stores like Target and Walmart. Note: We highly recommend trying on Jazz, Clogging, and Pointe shoes in-store for the best fit.

•Illness: If a dancer is sick, please keep them home to prevent the spread of germs. Students must be free of head lice and have completed treatment before returning to class.

•Hydration: Please bring a personal water bottle to every class. While a water fountain is available, we encourage the use of personal bottles to maintain a healthy environment.

•Preparedness: Please use the restroom before class begins to minimize instructional disruptions.

•Weather Closings: In the event of bad weather, please check the studio app, parent portal, and social media for updates. We do not always follow Brunswick County School closings. Use your best judgment; do not feel obligated to travel if you feel conditions are unsafe.

•Mandatory Business Closures: Should a government-mandated shutdown occur, classes will transition to a virtual format. This may include Zoom classes or instructional videos sent at least twice a month to ensure dancers can continue working on recital choreography at home.

As a parent/guardian, I understand that dance involves physical activity and carries a risk of injury. I agree to release Shoreline Dance Company and its staff from any and all liability for injuries sustained while on the premises or participating in studio events. I also authorize the studio to seek emergency medical treatment for my child if I cannot be reached.

Shoreline Dance Company reserves the right to update or amend these policies as needed. Families will be notified of any significant changes via email.

I grant permission to Shoreline Dance Company to take photos or videos of my dancer for promotional and educational purposes (including social media, website, and brochures). Note: If you wish to opt-out, please provide a written request to the office.

To ensure a polished look for our annual recital, we follow a strict ordering and payment timeline. Dancers typically require one costume per dance style taken.

•Deposits: A $30 non-refundable deposit per costume is due with October tuition. {{Example: Preschool combo classes (2 styles) require a $60 deposit. Kindergarten through 1st-grade classes (3 styles) require a $90 deposit.}}

•Balance Due: All costume balances must be paid in full by December 1st. Costumes will not be ordered for any dancer with an outstanding balance.

•Late Fees: A $20 rush shipping fee per costume will be applied to any balance paid after the December 1st deadline.

•Refund Policy: Once costumes are ordered in early December, all fees are non-refundable. If a dancer leaves the studio after this date, any refund is at the sole discretion of the studio owner.

•Requirements: All recital participants are required to wear the designated professional tights and shoes for their specific routine.

Our Fall through Spring dance season officially begins the Tuesday following Labor Day.

•Holiday Closures: The studio generally follows the Brunswick County Schools calendar for major breaks, including Thanksgiving/Fall Break, Christmas/Winter Break, and Spring Break.

•Community Events: We take pride in our community involvement. Shoreline Dance Company participates in local events such as the Shallotte and Calabash Tree Lightings, the Shallotte Christmas Parade, and others as the opportunity arises.

•Communications: Detailed information and schedules for these events will be emailed to families as the dates approach.

To ensure the safety of all our dancers, we ask that you follow these arrival and departure procedures:

•Drop-off/Pick-up: Students should not be dropped off earlier than 10 minutes before class. Students must come directly inside and remain inside until a parent arrives. Younger students must be escorted to and from the studio by an adult.

•Parking: Please use the designated parking lot. Do not park on the grass directly in front of the studio.

•Supervision: Siblings and friends must not be left unattended in the lobby or studio.

•Building Care: No running in the studio, playing in the bathrooms, or writing on walls. Destruction of studio property will not be tolerated.

•Tobacco/Vaping: Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside the studio and directly outside the studio doors. Please remain in or near your vehicle for these activities.

Shoreline Dance Company and its students both reserve the right to terminate dance instruction at any time, with or without cause.

•Cancellation Fee: In the event of a mid-season withdrawal, a cancellation fee equal to 25% of the remaining tuition balance for the season may be collected.

•Refunds: Any eligible refunds will be processed and issued within 30 days of the formal termination of instruction.

Tuition is based on a yearly rate for our 9-month season (September–May). For your convenience, this annual total is divided into nine equal monthly installments.

•Due Date: Monthly installments are due in full by the 1st of each month.

•Payment Consistency: Monthly payments remain the same regardless of how many lessons fall within a specific month. Please note that payments represent one portion of the yearly tuition rather than a fee for a specific number of weekly lessons.

•New Students: If a dancer enrolls after the season has begun, tuition may be prorated at the owner’s discretion.

Payments received after the 1st of the month will incur a $25 late fee. Accounts must be kept current to participate in classes and performances

To maintain the high standards of instruction and care you expect from us, we must make a necessary adjustment to our tuition rates for the upcoming season. This decision was not made lightly. A tremendous amount of research and thought went into this change.

Like many small businesses, we are navigating today's economic climate. Rising operating costs, inflation, and compliance with new financial surcharge laws mean it costs more to keep our doors open and properly compensate our dedicated staff. This adjustment ensures we can keep our studio thriving, support our amazing teachers, and continue meeting our dance families' needs.

New Tiered Pricing Structure
Even with these updates, our research shows we remain the most budget-conscious studio in the area. We always keep working parents' budgets in mind and strive to provide premium instruction at the most accessible price point possible.

To better serve our most dedicated dancers, we are introducing a brand-new Unlimited Tier. If your dancer takes 8 or more classes per week, your tuition will be capped at a flat monthly rate, offering you the best value per class.

Here is the pricing breakdown for the upcoming season:
• 1 Class: $60/month (No change)
• 2 Classes: $90/month
• 3 Classes: $120/month
• 4 Classes: $150/month
• 5 Classes: $180/month
• 6 Classes: $210/month
• 7 Classes: $240/month
• 8+ Classes (New Unlimited Tier): $270/month
