Studio B. Policies and Procedures for the 2025-26 Season
Policies Regarding Payment and Tuition
Due Dates: Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month. Invoices will be sent to the primary email on file. Tuition covers class instruction only and does not include costs for costumes, shoes, recital tickets, choreography, or competition entry fees. A 5% late fee will be applied if tuition is not paid by the 10th of the month.
Additional Fees: Separate invoices will be sent for other fees such as costumes, competitions, and choreography. A $25 fee will apply for any bounced checks or rejected credit card payments.
Discounts: Families with multiple dancers receive a 10% discount on tuition. Dancers with a parent employed or retired from the military, police, fire, or rescue services are eligible for a 10% tuition discount. Discounts do not apply to additional charges or fees for private lessons, studio rental, solos, duets, trios, or small groups.
Competition Fees (competition dancers only): Competition fees will be divided into three installments. All fees must be paid in full 45 days before the first competition; otherwise, the dancer will not compete.
Missed Days, Holidays, and Refunds: No prorated tuition for missed days, holidays, or vacations—these are included in the tuition rate calculation. No refunds will be issued for missed classes, payments, or fees once paid.
Policies for Enrollment, Attendance, and Communication
Enrollment Cancellation: A 30-day written notice must be submitted to the Director if a dancer wishes to withdraw from classes.
Communication: Emails are the primary form of communication. Please make sure one point of contact is updated in the registration system. Studio B. will not be responsible for missed information due to unread emails.
Attendance Requirements: Parents should notify the studio of absences via catie.bunde@gmail.com. Competition dancers may not miss more than two practices per month. Attendance is mandatory the week of a competition.
Class Cancellations: Cancellations due to weather will be communicated via email and announced on WJON. Missed classes due to weather will not be rescheduled unless cancellations are excessive.
Teacher Absence: If an instructor is absent, a qualified substitute teacher will cover the class. Studio B. may combine or cancel classes due to low registration.
Behavior and Code of Conduct
Studio B. promotes a positive and respectful environment. Dancers and parents must adhere to behavior standards to maintain their place on the team.
Grounds for Dismissal: Poor behavior (by dancers or parents), lack of effort or interest, failure to retain choreography, low attendance, or disrespect toward staff, dancers, or parents.
Bullying and Misconduct Policy
At Studio B., we are committed to maintaining a respectful and safe environment for all dancers, staff, and families. Bullying, harassment, or misconduct is strictly prohibited.
Scope of the Policy: This policy applies to studio classes, rehearsals, and events, competitions, performances, travel, and online interactions (e.g., social media, BAND app communication).
Definitions
Bullying includes repeated, intentional actions that cause harm to others, including verbal abuse, teasing, or name-calling, physical aggression or intimidation, exclusion, gossip, or spreading rumors, and cyberbullying via apps, social media, or emails.
Misconduct refers to inappropriate behavior disrupting the environment or causing discomfort, such as disrespect toward instructors, staff, or peers, offensive language or gestures, physical threats or property damage, and any disruptive behavior during studio-related activities.
Reporting Procedures: Report incidents in person or by email to catie.bunde@gmail.com. All reports will be investigated confidentially and handled promptly by the Studio Director.
Consequences: First offense may result in a verbal or written warning. The second offense will involve a meeting with the dancer and parent(s). A third offense will lead to suspension from classes or competitions. Severe or repeated offenses may result in permanent removal from the team or studio.
Classroom and Lobby Etiquette
Classroom Guidelines: Only water bottles are allowed inside the classroom. No food, beverages (except water), phones, or smartwatches are permitted.
Dress Code: Each group will be emailed specific requirements for shoes and attire.
Lobby Expectations: Family members must keep the lobby clean and supervised. Studio B. is not responsible for lost items—please label belongings.
Studio B. Policy on Disagreements Between Divorced or Separated Parents Regarding Dancer Participation
At Studio B., our priority is the well-being and growth of each dancer. In cases where divorced or separated parents disagree on enrollment, participation, or financial obligations related to their child’s involvement at Studio B., the following policy applies:
Studio B. will accept registration and payment from either parent individually and will proceed with the enrolled dancer’s participation based on the consent of the registering parent.
Unless Studio B. is provided with a legal document that specifically requires joint consent for the child’s participation at and by Studio B., only one parent’s approval is needed for participation in any class, workshop, or program. The Studio B. Director, Teachers, or Staff will not mediate.
The parent who registers the dancer will be considered the Primary Contact and is financially responsible for all associated fees. Any cost-sharing, reimbursement, or communication between parents must be handled privately.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a positive, respectful environment for your child and the Studio B. community.
