RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR ALL GYMNASTIC CLASSES (Please Read carefully)
π PARENTS: For all classes, no parents are allowed while class is being conducted. Having parents sit in and observe creates a power struggle, which makes it difficult for coaches to facilitate the class effectively. It may also distract some students and cause others not to participate. This can be stressful for both the student and the instructor! Please understand that we want the childβs attention to be on the coach and the material being taught in class.
π€§ SICKNESS: If your child is sick, please do not bring them to class. Gymnasts may make up any missed classes due to sickness by attending any other class offered in accordance with their level.
π₯€ DRINKS and FOOD: There is to be no gum, candy, or fizzy drinks. WATER ONLY! It is extremely difficult to teach a child anything while on a sugar high. For High Performance and Level 4 and up gymnasts training for longer periods, please ensure they have healthy snacks, such as fruit, raw veggies, nuts, or biltong.
π POSTED MATERIAL: Please read and follow any written or posted material handed out throughout the year. Parents are responsible for reading and adhering to the material sent home and posted.
π OBSERVING CLASS: Parents and visitors are invited to come in and observe the entire class during the last week of each term.
π REGISTRATION: Students must re-register each year.
β οΈ RISK OF INJURY: Gymnastics is a physical activity with a risk of injury. Coaches will not be held responsible for any injury occurring while attempting gym activities.
β³ NOTICE PERIOD: If your daughter wishes to stop classes, one month's notice must be given. Please ensure you adhere to this notice period to avoid unnecessary charges.
π° MISSED CLASSES: If a class is missed, money will not be reimbursed. However, students may make up the class by attending another session, provided they are at the appropriate level.
π« PUBLIC HOLIDAYS: There will be no classes held on public holidays.
Some basic rules to keep in mind:
π No street shoes or high heels on the gymnastics carpets! Only gymnastics socks, normal socks, or bare feet are allowed.
πββοΈ No running around the gym before or after class! Gymnasts should come in and sit with the instructor and other gymnasts in the sharing circle as they arrive.
β° Please be on time when dropping off and picking up your child. Instructors are not responsible for students before or after class.
π» All students are asked to use the bathroom before class!
πͺ YOUNGER STUDENTS: At this stage, students are just beginning to understand how their body moves through space. They are working on basic coordination skills (fine and gross motor skills) and are being introduced to movement through space.
πΆ Rhythmic gymnastics takes repetition in watching others and a LOT of practice. It cannot be achieved with a few classes; it takes years of practice, patience, consistency, and appreciation. Remember, Fun and the appreciation of movement must always come first, or the rest will not be understood or accomplished.
We look forward to working with everyone!
