At Charmion Performing Arts Center, we believe ballet is the foundation of all dance. Our Advanced Ballet class is designed for committed dancers who are ready to refine their technique, strengthen their artistry, and continue their growth as well-rounded performers. Under the direction of a Certified Dance Educator, students receive quality instruction that emphasizes proper technique, injury prevention, and age-appropriate progression.

This class focuses on:

Proper body alignment, posture, and placement
Ballet terminology and technique
Strength, flexibility, balance, and control
Barre, center, and across-the-floor combinations
Pirouettes, adagio, petit and grand allegro
Jumps, leaps, turns, and advanced traveling combinations
Musicality, artistry, and expressive performance quality
Endurance, discipline, confidence, and professionalism

Students are encouraged to develop the technical precision, grace, and work ethic that ballet instills while building a strong foundation for success in jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre, and other dance styles.

* Ballet is a required class for all Charmion Performing Arts Center Competition Team members. Ballet technique is essential for developing proper alignment, strength, flexibility, balance, control, and artistry. The skills learned in ballet directly improve every other style of dance and help prepare dancers for performances, competitions, auditions, and future dance opportunities.

Placement is by instructor recommendation to ensure each dancer is training at the appropriate level for continued success and advancement.

Designed for experienced tap dancers, our Advanced Tap class challenges students to elevate their technique, musicality, rhythm, and performance quality. Dancers will refine complex footwork, improve speed, clarity, balance, and coordination while exploring advanced combinations, intricate rhythms, and dynamic choreography.

Students will focus on precision, timing, improvisation, style, and stage presence while developing a deeper understanding of musical interpretation. Emphasis is placed on proper technique, endurance, artistry, and confidence, preparing dancers for performances, competitions, conventions, and continued growth as well-rounded performers.

This class is ideal for dedicated dancers who are committed to expanding their technical abilities and pushing themselves to achieve excellence in tap dance.

Prerequisite: Instructor placement or prior advanced tap experience is required. Competition team members are required to enroll based on placement.

Advanced Jazz

Advanced Jazz is designed for experienced dancers who are committed to achieving a high level of technical excellence, artistry, and performance. This fast-paced class focuses on refining advanced jazz technique while building the strength, flexibility, stamina, and precision required for successful performances and competitive dance.

Students will work extensively on advanced turns, leap sequences, jumps, extensions, body isolations, intricate footwork, musicality, and dynamic movement combinations. Class includes challenging across-the-floor progressions and choreography that develops versatility, expression, performance quality, and professional presentation.

Dancers are expected to demonstrate self-discipline, a strong work ethic, and consistent dedication to technical growth. Attention to proper body alignment, execution, and artistry is emphasized in every class to help each dancer reach their fullest potential.

Competition Team Requirement: Advanced Jazz is a required technique class for all eligible Charmion Performing Arts Center Competition Team members. Regular attendance, active participation, and a commitment to excellence are expected, as the technical skills developed in this class are essential for success in rehearsals, performances, and competitions.

Kickline Progression

Our Kickline Progression class is designed for dancers who want to develop the precision, strength, and performance quality required for kickline and precision dance. This high-energy class focuses on proper kick technique, flexibility, balance, timing, synchronization, and teamwork while building the endurance needed for strong, polished performances.

Dancers will train in correct body alignment, clean arm placement, uniform spacing, and musicality while mastering kickline combinations and choreography. Class instruction also includes conditioning exercises to improve core strength, leg strength, flexibility, and stamina, helping dancers perform with confidence and consistency.

Kickline Progression is an excellent class for students interested in precision dance, school dance teams, performances, and competition. Through positive instruction and progressive training, dancers will gain confidence, improve technical skills, and learn the importance of working together as a unified team.

This class will perform the opening number at our recitals and other shows

Recommended for: Intermediate to Advanced dancers. Competition Team dancers are required to enroll based on team placement.

KINDER 0NE CLASS
Kinder One is the perfect introduction to the world of dance for our youngest performers. Through a combination of ballet, tap, and creative movement, dancers develop coordination, balance, rhythm, and listening skills in a nurturing and encouraging environment.

Our Certified Dance Educator and trained instructors understand that every child learns at their own pace. Classes are designed to build confidence while encouraging imagination, creativity, and social interaction through age-appropriate music, movement, and fun activities. This class provides the foundation for a lifelong love of dance while making every child feel successful.

This is a student-only class. If a child requires assistance, parents may be asked to come into the classroom to provide support.
Students are not required to be potty-trained.

Kinder Two builds upon the skills learned in our introductory program while continuing to make learning exciting and fun. Dancers participate in ballet, tap, and creative movement, developing stronger coordination, musicality, flexibility, and classroom discipline. Students are not required to take Kinder One to participate in this class.

Students begin learning proper dance terminology and technique in a positive, structured environment while still enjoying imaginative activities that keep them engaged. Our goal is to help each dancer grow in confidence, independence, and a love for performing as they prepare for more advanced classes. If a child needs additional assistance, parents may be asked to sit in class to provide support.

Triple Threat Level 1 is the perfect class for dancers who are ready to expand their training by exploring Ballet, Tap, and Jazz in one exciting class. Students will build a strong technical foundation while developing coordination, flexibility, rhythm, balance, musicality, and confidence.

Each class includes:

Ballet to develop proper technique, posture, grace, and strength.
Tap to improve rhythm, timing, and musical awareness.
Jazz to build flexibility, energy, style, and performance skills.

This class does 3 dances in our recital.

Our certified instructors create a positive and encouraging learning environment where dancers are challenged while having fun. Triple Threat Level 1 is designed to help students grow in all three dance styles as they prepare for more advanced training.

TRIPLE THREAT 2

Triple Threat Level 2 is designed for dancers who have mastered the fundamentals and are ready to further develop their technique in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz. This class focuses on strengthening technical skills while increasing flexibility, coordination, artistry, musicality, and performance quality. Students are not required to complete Triple Threat Level 1 before enrolling in Level 2.

Students will continue to progress through:

Ballet with an emphasis on proper alignment, strength, turns, leaps, and classical technique.
Tap by learning more intricate rhythms, timing, clarity of sound, and performance.
Jazz through dynamic combinations, flexibility, turns, leaps, and expressive movement.

Under the guidance of our Certified Dance Educators, dancers receive quality instruction in a supportive environment that encourages confidence, discipline, and a love for dance. Triple Threat Level 2 prepares students for higher-level recreational classes and future performance opportunities.
