Adult Ballet
This class offers adults a welcoming introduction to the fundamentals of Ballet, focusing on stretching, balance, and foundational technique. Whether you're new to dance or returning after a break, you'll build strength, flexibility, and grace through structured barre, center, and across-the-floor exercises. It's a supportive, low-pressure environment where you can enjoy a great workout while exploring the elegance of Ballet.

Students in this class are invited to perform in our annual Nutcracker and June recital performances, among others.

~ Dancing has been proven to increase cognitive acuity, energy, and serotonin, in all ages. Dancing also reduces stress and depression, while increasing mental capacity by exercising our cognitive processes. ~

Adult Beginning Tap
An excellent class for adults who want to learn tap as a dance style, or adults who want to refresh skills they had in the past. Class will progress through foundational tap steps, layering new sounds and movements to build a greater tap vocabulary.

Students should wear clothes they are comfortable moving in. Tap shoes are required - you may purchase them through online sites like discountdance.com or Amazon, or the studio may have your size available to borrow (it's a good idea to stop by and check out loaner inventory first).

Ballet I
Ballet I is the first progression our Ballet students have into the Intermediate Ballet levels (Ballet I, Ballet II, Ballet III). Time is spent learning more advanced steps, formations, and choreography. Class is finished with a combination or rehearsal for an upcoming performance.

Students joining Ballet I must have completed at least 2 years of Beginning Ballet prior to joining.

Ballet II
Students in Ballet II continue to build upon skills learned in Ballet I, while more advanced steps and techniques are added throughout this level. A major change in the young dancer’s ability can be recognized at the end of these years as students technique starts to become more refined.

Students joining Ballet II must have completed at least 2 years of Ballet I prior to joining.

Basic principles taught in previous levels are included to begin advanced training of our dancers. Classes become more difficult, more is expected from the students, and proper technique and training becomes the central focus.

Students in this class must have completed at least 2 years of Ballet II prior to joining Ballet III.

Ballet IV
Ballet IV is for the intermediate advanced dancer and provides final preparation before entering into the Technique level, and ultimately the Pre-Pointe level. Proper ballet terms are spoken and taught on a regular basis, and understanding of these terms in class is expected. Students are expected to be respectful and focused in class. Proper technique must be achieved before advancing into the next levels of dance and students may remain in this class for 3+ years.

Students in this class must have completed at least 2 years of Ballet III prior to joining Ballet IV.

Beginning Ballet
Beginning Ballet is a dancer’s first look at how a ballet class is instructed. Basic stretching techniques for dancers are introduced in this class and implemented into the class curriculum. Time is spent one on one developing basic ballet moves learned in Pre Ballet as students dance in the center and across the floor. Class is finished with a combination or rehearsal for an upcoming performance.

This fun and energetic class introduces students to the fundamentals of jazz dance, including basic technique, rhythm, and style. Dancers will learn kicks, turns, and simple combinations while building strength, coordination, and confidence.

Beginning Jazz/Tap Combo
Students in this class will learn the basics of Jazz and Tap (which share a lot of similar steps making for an easy transition between styles). Students will perform 2 dances in our June, end-of-year recital.

This class time is spent learning basic tap technique and progressive steps. Creative movement games focused on motor skills and rhythm make this class fun and an exciting learning atmosphere for children.

*We ask that parents remain in our lobby during class time (viewing window available). If we feel a parent will help a student transition easier, we may invite them in to observe. Allowing dancers to attend class by themselves builds confidence and gives the student the opportunity to fully focus on the instructor.

This 30 mins creative movement dance class teaches young dancers basic ballet movement in a fun atmosphere while developing motor skills. This is often the first structured class many children will take. Our instructor creates a positive environment while helping students understand the importance of proper behavior in class, as we recognize proper behavior and positive attitudes are important life skills and encourage them in all classes.

This class will continue to work on strength and flexibility, while working to advance their tumbling skills. Bridge kickovers, handstands, cartwheels and roundoffs are all a focus of this class.

Mommy & Me is an introduction to dance and focuses on parent/guardian and child participation. Students will learn valuable skills such as taking turns, following directions, listening, etc. as well as working on developing gross motor skills. This is a great class to help transition your children into a dance class of their own.

Pre Ballet
Students in Pre Ballet should be in Kindergarten prior to enrolling. Students age 5 and not in Kindergarten should enroll in Bitsy Ballet.

Students in this hour-long class get their first taste of the ballet basics. This class is critical for young dancers as it establishes the ground work for proper technique in future classes. Students will start to work on foundation steps and phrasing. Creative movement is also included for dexterity and fine motor skills which make the class even more fun for these young dancers!

Technique
Technique is for the advanced dancer, students must have successfully completed at least 2 years of Ballet IV to join this class. This class consists of two groups - the younger and beginning advanced dancer, and the older and therefore more advanced dancer. In these classes we train our students for whatever their future endeavor in dance may be. For some of our students it may be professional careers, college dance groups, or continued recreational dance throughout their adult life. Whatever the goal, these most advanced and challenging classes are the cornerstone of any dancer’s life.
