AlignPointe Workshop
AlignPointe with Deidre Neal captures both the technical and artistic transformation.

AlignPointe is a specialized pointe class designed to build strength, alignment, and power from the ground up. Starting at the barre in parallel to re-pattern and refine technique, dancers progress through thoughtfully structured exercises before moving to the center. There, they apply their newfound awareness and alignment to a short combination, seeing and feeling their growth in real time. Through this deeper ability to organize patterns, cultivate awareness, and achieve true mastery, students’ talents and artistry are revealed — free from tension and gripping, with greater ease and expression.

Deidre Neal is an American Ballerina, teacher, author, coach, choreographer, and the founder of Ballet Somatics. She studied on full scholarship at The School of American Ballet, where she received invaluable coaching from luminaries such as Balanchine, Stanley Williams, and Alexandra Danilova. Deidre's professional career began with the San Francisco Ballet before she joined the esteemed American Ballet Theatre (ABT), followed by the Vienna State Opera Ballet. After retiring from performing, she was the Director of Ballet at Roco Dance, mentored at the Stapleton Academy and at UNCSA Faculty. She is also certified in Yoga, Pilates, Massage Therapy, and Holistic Health. Her teaching method emphasizes placement, precision, speed, and musicality. Her class serves as a sanctuary for dancers of all disciplines, protecting them from injuries, empowering them to express themselves artistically, and sculpting their bodies into vessels of creative expression.

Participants are to wear a leotard and tights, and bring their ballet slippers and pointe shoes (if already on pointe for 2+ years).
