Contemporary ages 10+. Dancers will learn intermediate/advanced lyrical technique and contemporary technique. Dancers must be enrolled in a Ballet class to take this class. This class has dancers who are competitive and non-competitive enrolled. Learning the art of Lyrical. Lyrical is smoother and faster than ballet but not as fast as jazz. Having a solid beginning in ballet or taking ballet helps the dancer in lyrical. The movements are characterized by fluidity and grace by moving seamlessly from one step to the next. Lyrical uses the expression of emotions that the song conveys telling a story to the audience. Learning the art of Contemporary. Contemporary technique incorporates the elements of many different styles of dance, mostly from ballet and modern with an emphasis on movement of the torso, fall and recovery and improvisational characteristics. It has unpredictable changes in speed, rhythm and direction as well.

2025-26 DX Company Rehearsal Weeks 8/18-8/21 and 9/2-9/4 M,T,W,Th
Company Rehearsal Weeks. Once the summer company intensive is finished a list will be sent out of which dances a dancer is able to compete in, then each dancer needs to except the dances on the list or deny. Rehearsal week will be billed and scheduled once we know who is in what dances. Dancers must be registered in the Company Summer Intensive.

Dance in class with your little star, having you with them gives them a sense of comfort and allows them to open up to the idea of a class atmosphere. Your job is to encourage your little star. Through the use of props students will learn beginning ballet technique while exploring movement through creativity and music. Learning the art of Ballet. Ballet promotes physical strength and agility. It can boost concentration, develop an understanding of music and rhythm and generate a love of movement.
