GHSTA- Movement for Stage Ages 13+
This beginner level movement class is for Guilford High School students wanting to gain experience in movement for stage. This class is designed for students who wish to develop a better understanding of movement, physical positioning and overall presence when acting. We will focus on three techniques of movement during the course of the semester. Alexander technique, Laban Movement Analysis, Bartenieff Fundamentals. As the semester continues, we will build upon these skills and work on coordination related to movement and dance. Through improvisational techniques students will learn basic dance steps and musicality which will help to prepare them for GHSTA productions.
This course is highly recommended for students who wish to audition for the Spring Musical.
There is no Dress Code for this class. Please wear athletic attire, socks and/or jazz shoes. Hair should be pulled away from the face.

Students rehearse on Saturday's during the fall semester 11:15-2:00pm, learning a mix of ballet, modern and contemporary choreography. Students have the opportunity. to work with Shoreline Ballet faculty as well as guest artist. Performance include Mixed Rep! November 16th as well as Winter Wonderland January 25th.
