Please note: 1xW in the Class Name refers to one class per week and is appropriate for a brand new or beginning-level Heros-in-Training. All Int/Adv levels (Green Sash and above) are expected to attend twice per week in order to complete the program in a reasonable amount of time. As the program material increases in complexity with each new level of advancement, the amount of practice time required also increases. Coming only once per week barely suffices for the training exposure needed to confidently and properly complete the program. However, if the student's schedule only allows for once per week training, this is the option for them.
BattleMaster Heroes who have completed Orange Sash to become Green Sash and above will continue their training in our twice-weekly Int/Adv track. In addition to guided curriculum training, regular battle games are conducted to challenge the practitioners and create the opportunity for the training to have real meaning. In addition to the physical training, expectations and emphasis will also be focused on developing the heroic virtues of Discipline, Humility, Honor, Courage, Compassion, and Fortitude in order to finally attain the title of BattleMaster Black Sash! Heroes will be expected to attend twice per week and also participate in mentoring the younger BattleMasters classes that meet before this one. To assist with progress and development, our BattleMasters Hero Training program offers online video overviews for home practice.

This class introduces students to fencing history and presents sound foundational positions, instills proper movements, and begins teaching correct blade skills. LTF students also get to handle all of the equipment we use when fencing. Most fun of all, LTF students get a chance to Fence during their FIRST class! This class will answer most, if not all, questions that beginners have by introducing the basics and bringing it all together so that by the end of the class, the student WILL KNOW if this is something they'd like to develop, train, and ultimately, compete in - as a personal sport hobby.
