Elite "Sparklers" Tryouts (Ages 4-6)

We are offering a Pre-competition training team for our 3-6 year olds called "The Sparklers". We hope to help ignite a passion for dance in these young dancers by giving them more classes and more opportunities to perform and grow in their dance training! Dancers will need to register for this class ONLY and attend our Auditions to qualify. Any dancers that might not be quite ready to add more classes next year will be placed in the GDC recreational classes that they would like to register for :)

Fee to register: $195. Includes the following:
- $45 Registration Fee
- $40 Audition Fee
- $75 Summer Fee
- $35 Costume Deposit

Elite Competition Team Tryouts
Tryout Date: Saturday, May 18th

Open to all rising dancers, ages 7 and up. Dancers must attend Auditions and qualify for the team. Dancers must also fill out an Application once it is available and agree to the Elite Policies and fees.

To register: Select this class ONLY and then finalize registration. By doing this, you will reserve your spot in the *available* classes that your dancers are committed to Registering for. Once Registering for Auditions, please email us with the classes that your dancer would like to commit to if they do not qualify for the team during auditions.

We will have a detailed Competition team information packet available and are happy to schedule meetings with anyone interested in learning more about the team! Please read through this whole packet before committing to registration!

Ballet and Tap Combo Class * K3/K4/K5
All of our Ballet and Tap combo classes are full of fun and age-appropriate Ballet and Tap moves! We will focus on creativity and coordination while engaging the imagination through dance. Our Pre-K classes are 45 minutes each, once per week. Please email any schedule conflicts or preferences that you have and we will do our best to find a class that works for your dancer! We will offer several class options throughout the week (early afternoon and evening).

During this Ballet/Tap class, dancers will learn a Recital dance to perform in our 2025 Recital!

Open to 3-5 year olds (3 by Jan. 1, 2024). Please view our Policies and Procedures for more information!

Shoes required: Pink Ballet and Tan Tap shoes (available through GDC)

Ballet Class * 1st-12th grade
Ballet is a classical dance form that combines grace and precision to teach foundations for dance. During Ballet classes, dancers will work on skills at the Barre and learn combinations of steps to grow their Ballet skills. In each class, dancers will learn a Recital dance to perform in our 2026 Recital!

Available to all 1st-12th graders as an additional or main class.

** Ballet shoes, leotard and tights will be required for each class. Dancers will be placed in classes based on age and ability and may require an evaluation prior to placement. Officials schedules will be set in June!

Ballet Technique, Additional class - 3rd-12th grade
Ballet is the foundation of almost all dance forms. It provides grace, poise, and technique needed to be proficient in all other areas of dance. Ballet Training classes will help dancers with posture, flexibility, fitness, balance, strength, self-discipline, and self-confidence. Students are taught proper body placement, body alignment, barre and center floor work.

Leotards are required for all dancers attending Ballet Training classes. Shoes Required: Ballet shoes (Available through GDC).

Dancers may need to be evaluated prior to placement.

There will be no Recital dance or costume fee for this class.

Main
Hip Hop Class * Additional class, 1st-12th grade
Hip Hop is an upbeat class that incorporates physical conditioning, beginner tumbling and high-energy choreography! Classes will be assigned based on age and skill. During this Hip Hop class, dancers will learn a Recital dance to perform in our 2026 Recital!

Open to 1st-12th Grade dancers as an additional class.

Hip Hop Recital shoes required (Estimated around $50, TBA). Shoes will be chosen based on the costume. Dancers will need to wear regular, supportive tennis shoes to weekly classes.

Main
Jazz and Tap Combo Class * 1st-4th grade
During this combo class, we will focus on fun, age-appropriate Jazz and Tap technique and combinations! Jazz class will include training in flexibility, leaps, turns and upbeat movements to edifying music. The Tap portion of class will teach dancers how to make music with their feet, try exciting new steps and learn fun Tap dances! Dancers will learn the important foundations for dance to take into other dance genres including counting music, coordination, and choreography.

During this Jazz/Tap class, dancers will learn 1 or 2 Recital dances to perform in our 2026 Recital! (Only 1 costume will be required)

Open to 1st through 4th grade dancers. This can be used as a dancer's "First/Required" class. Dancers will be placed based on age and ability and may require an evaluation prior to placement.

Shoes Required: Tan Jazz and Tan Tap shoes (available through GDC)

Jazz Class - 5th-12th grade
Jazz is a fun, upbeat class that will train dancers in areas of dance technique including flexibility, turns, leaps, choreography and more! Jazz is a fundamental style of dance that teaches skills that will be used in every style of dance. Dancers will learn a Jazz dance to perform in our 2026 Recital!

5th-12th grade dancers are required to take Jazz or Ballet before signing up for additional dance classes. Please email us with any schedule conflicts for your dancer and we will do our best to work around them.

Shoes required: Jazz Shoes (Available through GDC)

Jazz Technique, Additional class - 3rd-12th grade
In this class, we will work on building the Technical skills of our dancers. We will work on improving turns, lengthening leaps, and getting higher jumps! We will also stretch and work to build the muscles needed for the skills that we will be learning.

Dancers may need to be evaluated prior to placement.

There will be no Recital dance or costume fee for this class.

Jazz/Hip Hop Combo Class * Additional/Optional class, K5
This class will focus on beginner Jazz Technique and various Hip Hop skills! We will have so much fun in this upbeat class. Hip Hop shoes will be required for the Recital. Tennis shoes will be required for weekly classes. Dancers will be barefoot during the Jazz portion of class, so no Jazz shoes will be required.

Dancers will need to be registered for a Ballet/Tap combo class to register for this additional class.

Dancers will learn a Jazzy Hip Hop dance to perform in our May 2026 Recital!

Lyrical Class - Additional Class, 1st-12th grade
Lyrical classes incorporate a mixture of Ballet technique, flowing movement, improv and emotional choreography. 5th-12th grade will incorporate Contemporary styles into this class as well.

Lyrical is an additional class that can be added to the required Jazz, Combo or Ballet class. Dancers will be placed in Lyrical classes based on age and skill. Weekly class days/times will be sent out in June. During this class, dancers will learn a dance to perform in our 2026 Spring Recital!

Open to 1st-12th grade dancers.

Pre-Pointe / Pointe, Additional Class
Pre-Pointe > Dancers will work on strengthening their legs, ankles and bodies through Ballet Technique and exercises. This class will help develop skills needed for a potential future en Pointe.

Pointe > Dancers must be evaluated and approved by Sophie Beth prior to going en Pointe. Dancers will have to purchase Pointe shoes from an approved store and will need to have good attendance in order to remain in this class. If you would like more information about our Pointe or Ballet program, please let us know!

Tap Class - Additional Class, 5th-12th grade
Our fun, upbeat Tap classes teach age-appropriate Tap moves and combinations to develop a variety of Tap skills. Tap class is also great for improving the musicality and coordination of dancers! This class is an additional class option and will learn a dance for our Spring 2026 Recital!

Open to 5th-12th Graders

Tap classes will be filled based on age and skill level. Any dancers that did not take Tap during the 2024/25 dance season will need to be evaluated prior to class placement. Please feel free to contact the studio by email to set up an evaluation for your dancer.
