Broadway Bound - NYC Class I
5 spots left
Dancers who sign up for this class will accompany Melissa's School of Dance on a trip to New York City. Please make sure you are aware of the commitment and discuss with Melissa prior to signing up. The company that makes this opportunity available to our studio is called Dance The World. You will sign up through a link they provide and make your payments to them. We have enjoyed participating in many trips with this company including Disney World and Nashville TN. Please note that you must travel through this company to have access / entrance to the Broadway performance to see our dancers.
To participate in this performance opportunity your dancer(s) must be registered in one of the MSOD Nashville Company classes for the 2025 -2026 dance season. Melissa's School of Dance will offer classes for this performance group called Nashville Company. We will have two class groups Nashville Company I & Nashville Company II. The classes will be divided considering multiple factors including but not limited to age, ability, and dance experience at our studio. We will need a minimum of 10 dancers for each class. These dancers must register for the Nashville Company class for the 2025 - 2026 dance season. *If there is not enough interest, we will have to combine the classes. *If there is a lot of interest, we will open additional classes.
Please note, there will be some dates when dancers in the NYC II Company will need to stay a little later, and days when the NYC II dancers will need to come a little earlier. This will be so the dancers can all practice together. Dancers and families will be notified in advance.
Performance Information
MSOD NYC Company will learn a dance routine to perform on the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage. These dancers will order a costume, tights, shoes, etc. for this performance before the dance season begins so there costume will be in on time. These dancers will also perform this routine during our annual recital showcase in the spring of 2026.
Our NYC Company dancers will also learn a group routine to perform in Times Square performance. The costume, tights, and red glitter performance boots are included in the cost for performers for this opportunity. Choreography for this performance will be taught during class and practiced at home. During our trip, we will have a required dress rehearsal in New York City for this performance.
Traveling - Each dance family is responsible for their own travel for this opportunity. As always, we will look into group travel. I will share this information with you all when travel prices are available. You must travel through MSOD / Dance the world (our group) to participate in our group flight
Performer Dedication
Please note: Representing our community, our studio, and dancing on a Broadway Stage is an elite and incredible opportunity. MSOD NYC dancers must have excellent class attendance and dedication to be a part of this elite group. This means they should arrive for class on time, prepared for class with a can-do attitude. These dancers should give 100% in class and practice at home as well. This class must be their number one extracurricular activity. If a dancer misses too many classes they may be required to complete and pay for private lessons with Melissa or Taylor in order to catch up. Dancers with poor attendance and / or lack of dedication will be dropped from the class without refund for class, costumes, props, trip through Dance the World / World Class Vacations, etc.
Please reply to this email and let me know if you are interested in receiving additional details when I have them.
Dancers in this class are expected to have excellent attendance to practice technique and stay conditioned for the level of difficulty the choreography will be for the class.
