As your pre-school aged dancer walks into their first dance class, let the memories begin. As they make new friends and learns their first French words, their world has opened up to the art of dance. This exciting class includes introduction to ballet and tap. Along with learning ballet basics, tap basics, and new dance terminology, this class will get to play with fun props that will improve their fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and stage presence. MSOD dancers in this class will have two costumes and two routines in our recital showcase.
Female dancers in this class are required to wear a dance leotard and footed tights to each class. Our girl dancers are required to wear Revolution Brand ballet and tap shoes ordered through Nimbly. Male dancers will have a separate dress code and shoes that will be added soon.
This class will need at least 10 dancers enrolled by July 15th.
Good attendance (less than 4 absences per dance season) and dedication (can-do attitude) required. 6 or more absences in the dance season and / or 3 or more consecutive absences is considered excessive.
Dancers new to the MSOD dance family are expected to demonstrate the Triple A's and have a can-do, team attitude throughout the dance season.
This class will learn and perform two (2) routines in our recital showcase. This class will order two (2) MSOD approved dance costume for the recital showcase at our first parent week in the fall (dates will be posted on the calendar). Prices are not yet available for costumes, but you will know as soon as I have all the information ready and available.

Character Jazz I & II

For our dancers who love musical theater, or for those dancers who have extra charisma, this class is for you. Our character class is a fusion of dance, character portrayal, and dramatic interpretation. Though jazz technique and progressions will frequently be used, it is possible we will work on dance skills from various genres and with the use of different costumes and props we will entertain with a fascinating story. In this class, you can immerse yourself into a role that will help you develop more facial expressions and body language for your overall dance technique. Experience preferred; dedication required.

Lyrical Dance combines the beauty of ballet and jazz. Inspired by poetic fluidity and lyrics of songs, lyrical is a very emotional and expressive genre of dance. Dancers will also learn a variety of progressions used in ballet and jazz such as various turns, leaps, and other progressions. Both classical and modern techniques will be taught in this class in order to keep the dancers well rounded. It is preferred that dancers have recent ballet experience in order to join this class.

Pom class is a fusion of cheer foundations and dance. This high energy class will surely get your dance and cheer enthusiast on her feet! Pom students will learn cheer basics and incorporate them with dance while using poms, of course. They will strive for excellence as a group but will also work towards personal goals.

Lyrical Dance combines the beauty of ballet and jazz. Inspired by poetic fluidity and lyrics of songs, lyrical is a very emotional and expressive genre of dance. While breaking into the lyrical genre, dancers will also still work on foundational ballet skills to make them stronger. Dancers will also learn a variety of progressions used in ballet and jazz such as various turns, leaps, and other progressions. Both classical and modern techniques will be taught in this class in order to keep the dancers well rounded.

This exciting class includes introduction to ballet and tap. Along with learning ballet basics, tap basics, and new dance terminology, this class will get to play with fun props that will improve their fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and stage presence. MSOD dancers in this class will have two costumes and two routines in our recital showcase.
Female dancers in this class are required to wear a dance leotard and footed tights to each class. Our girl dancers are required to wear Revolution Brand ballet and tap shoes ordered through Nimbly. Male dancers will have a separate dress code and shoes that will be added soon.

Attendance during the months of November are required. During the months of November the dance schedule MAY change and the dancers' classes may meet at a different day / time, these modifications have not yet been applied to the calendar yet, but will be given to you as soon as possible.
