This class is open for beginner dancers ages 5 1/2- 12 or with 0-1 years training. This class is intended to introduce beginner dancers with 0 to 1 year ballet training to vocabulary and technique. Dancers that have completed Creative Dance will find this as their next level of training! This is an age-appropriate introduction to classical ballet technique with an approach that is fun and engaging. It is 10-15 minutes of floor warm-up, 30 minutes of structured barre-work, and 15 minutes of center and across the floor. Class Placement is based on a combination of age, skill, and maturity and is at the discretion of Miss Catalina. This class WILL NOT participate in the Showcase. It is an Open Class for new students, students who do not wish to perform yet, or for makeups.

This level is ideal for dancers ready to strengthen their ballet foundation while continuing to develop technique, artistry, flexibility, and overall dance performance quality. Ballet 2 dancers are also encouraged to enroll in additional technique classes such as Jazz 2 and Hip Hop 2 to further enhance versatility and coordination across multiple dance styles.
Under the instruction of Miss Helena, dancers will focus on proper ballet technique with an emphasis on posture, alignment, turnout, core strength, flexibility, and body awareness. Through barre work, center exercises, and across-the-floor progressions, dancers will build strong technical foundations that support and improve all styles of dance including jazz, contemporary, lyrical, musical theater, and hip hop. Proper ballet training helps dancers develop cleaner lines, increased control, balance, strength, coordination, and injury prevention techniques essential for well-rounded dance education.
Miss Helena creates a positive and inspiring environment where dancers are encouraged to grow both technically and artistically. Along with disciplined technique training, dancers will explore musicality, performance quality, and artistic expression while expanding movement vocabulary and confidence.
