Castanets II (Sevillanas #1 and #2) - ONLINE OR IN-PERSON
In order to participate in this class, you need to be able to play a basic carretilla with your castanets. If you don't have castanet experience, it is recommended to take Castanet Level I on Wednesdays instead. But if you already have your carretilla down, it is time to put your castanets to use! While our friends with no sevillana experience learn the steps, you will be learning how to play while dancing. To take this class, you need to be proficient on Sevillanas #1 and #2.
Here is a place where you could order your castanets. Remember this will be a one in a life time expense so don't pick the cheapest ones ;) You should get a pair that is $65 or up.

Sevillanas is a folk dance from Andalucía and even though it is not flamenco per se, everybody that dances flamenco knows how to dance Sevillanas. It is beneficial because you will be able to participate in social parties and events where sevillanas are danced—our Sevillanas socials, las ferias in Spain, the student show, and our presentations in festivals will always start with Sevillanas. You don't want to be sitting as we are all dancing! If you don't know your sevillanas yet, I am encouraging you to take this class. OLE!

Understanding and Dancing Flamenco for Beginners - ONLINE OR IN-PERSON
Finding the Courage and the Steps : I have come up with a class for all beginner with some experience and up to low intermediate levels that will help students build confidence and start learning how to work with improvisations. We will learn easy ways to put basic sequences together to create your own Fandango de Huelva, how to move confidently while a falseta is playing, and how to come up with easy footwork sequences for 12-count and 4x4 dances. This class focuses on giving you a way and introduction to how dance without necessarily relying on a choreography.

This class is for all beginner and low intermediate level students. Taking técnica class is what, at the end, will make you a better dancer. EVERY student in the academy needs to take técnica. These classes, even though they can feel intimidating or like a lot of work, are the classes that will eventually push you to the next level. I encourage you to take at least two classes a week, and choosing técnica is one of the best options—especially if you want to get better at posture, footwork, turns, and projection.

Intro To Bulerías por Fiesta - Beginners with some Experience and Up - ONLINE OR IN-PERSON
Dancing Bulerías and Tangos por fiesta is one of the most important skills to have. It is one of those four dances you need to master in order to participate in festivals and social flamenco activities. This is a class you will need to take more than five times! If you ask yourself, "Will I be able to come up to a circle and dance bulerías by myself successfully?" and your answer is no, this class is for you. (Recommended for students who have finished at least one season in Beginners with some experience and up)

What is Discover Latin Dances?
Our goal is to provide a full insight into Latin culture. While dancing is the main focus, this class offers a complete immersion experience, including:

At this developmental stage, we focus on building a strong individual foundation. By mastering timing, coordination, and solo movements now, students will be perfectly prepared for our Partner Dancing curriculum, which will be introduced later once these basics are mastered.

Learn how to put your fandangos together! Dancers need to be able to come up with 6 compaces to dance a Fandango de Huelva and have a mix of remates and marcajes in your pocket. We will learn the basics of how to put it together and you will have the opportunity to dance your creations in front of the teacher for corrections. We want to continue working on finding the courage and not letting the nerves take the best of our dance. (Recommended for Low Intermediate and above)

I understand it is an expense, but it is one you only make one time. I found a place on eBay that makes them for $255, which is a great price to start with! I hope you find the motivation to join us, because for 2027, our high intermediate choreographies will require a bata. Don't wait—jump into learning the basics now!
