Annie
Camp is for Rising Kindergartners to Rising 6th graders. All campers are cast in the show. Annie Kids has many roles as well as an ensemble. Mainstage provides cosutmes (except tights and shoes). Your child will learn stage skills, communication skills, and gain understanding of a different time in our culture. Campers will gain self confidence as they are encouraged to take risks on stage, express themselves and learn from others. They will use their imaginations to bring the story of Annie to life as they develop empathy and understanding. Teamwork and collaboration is emphasized as well as the importance of each child to the production.
Performances will be: Friday June 27th at 6:00pm, Saturday June 28th at 2:00 and 5:00pm, and Sunday June 29th at 2:00pm. On Saturday and Sunday campers should arrive at the theatre at 1:00 for the 2:00 shows and 4:00 and 5:00 show. The show runs around 40 minutes. We do charge for tickets and parents of campers are able to buy their tickets before they are released to the public.
Cost: Registration fee is $50 (due at sign-up); Camp fee is $350 (due by June 1st)
Week 1
Day 1 -- Each day we will meet in a circle with opening exercises (getting to know you, etc). Main roles are auditioned. Registered campers will be given information and practice links for auditions prior to the first day of camp. We encourage auditions for experience however those not wishing to audition will automatically be cast in the ensemble. There are several productions of Annie, Kids on YouTube that can be watched. We can only cast one Annie, but there are several great roles to explore.
Day 2-5 -- Each day we will explore different aspects of theatre with games and build our Annie community. We will divide into groups according to assigned roles to learn parts and practice vocals and lyrics.
Week 2
We will continue to build community and rehearse in preparation for our performances. We will add costumes and sets.
