Join us for an extraordinary week of advanced classical training at Tulsa Dance Company’s exclusive Pas de Deux Summer Intensive, led by internationally respected ballet artist and répétiteur Michele Gifford. This immersive intensive offers serious dancers the rare opportunity to study the artistry, technique, and partnership essential to the great classical repertoire.
Dancers will explore classical Pas de Deux, Variations, and Codas, with a strong emphasis on partnering technique, musicality, alignment, and performance quality. Both men and women will develop the strength, trust, and artistry required for classical partnering while refining their individual technical precision. This intensive is designed to challenge and elevate dancers in a focused, professional studio environment.
✨ Special Final Performance: Families are invited to attend an inspiring in-studio showing on the final day, where dancers will present selected Pas de Deux and classical repertoire learned during the intensive.
🥗 Dancers should bring a sack lunch and water bottle each day.

Classes emphasize proper alignment, musicality, flexibility, turns, jumps, and increasingly complex combinations. Students begin developing greater body awareness and technical precision while learning to approach training with increased independence and responsibility.
Pre-pointe work is introduced as dancers develop the strength and technical proficiency required for safe pointe training. Introduction to pointe work is by faculty evaluation and approval.

Appropriate class leotard and pink tights. Short practice skirts are permitted.

By training alongside more experienced dancers, Intermediate I students gain valuable mentorship and insight into future levels of study. Intermediate II and Advanced dancers strengthen their own understanding and leadership skills by serving as positive role models within the classroom.

Designed for dancers with previous ballet experience, this class provides an opportunity to continue developing technique, strength, flexibility, artistry, and confidence in a welcoming environment.
Students participate in ballet barre, center work, turns, jumps, and across-the-floor combinations while refining alignment, musicality, coordination, and movement quality.
This class is ideal for dancers seeking supplemental training, returning to ballet after time away, or looking to strengthen their technical foundation.

INTERMEDIATE II & ADVANCED BALLET TECHNIQUE WITH POINTE
Intermediate II and Advanced Ballet represent Tulsa Dance Company's highest levels of classical ballet training. These levels are designed for dedicated dancers seeking to refine technique, develop artistry, and prepare for advanced performance opportunities.
Classes emphasize strength, flexibility, musicality, pointe work, turns, jumps, batterie, and increasingly complex combinations. Dancers are challenged to execute movement with precision while developing the confidence, discipline, and artistry expected of serious ballet students.
Through Tulsa Dance Company's Leader-Learner philosophy, dancers continue developing advanced technical skills while serving as role models for younger dancers. Students are encouraged to pursue leadership opportunities, summer intensives, guest artist experiences, and advanced repertoire.
Students enrolled in Intermediate II and Advanced Ballet have the opportunity to perform in Tulsa Dance Company's annual Nutcracker, Spring Performance, community outreach events, and productions featuring professional guest artists.
Curriculum: Dancers typically spend approximately two years in each level.

Dancers develop partnering technique, musicality, trust, communication, stage presence, and performance quality while learning excerpts from renowned classical ballets. Emphasis is placed on proper partnering mechanics, artistry, and the collaborative skills required for successful classical performance.
This class provides valuable training for dancers interested in advanced performance opportunities, summer intensives, YAGP, and pre-professional ballet study.
Students enrolled in Pas de Deux & Repertoire have the opportunity to perform featured classical repertoire in Tulsa Dance Company's annual Spring Performance.
Ladies must possess significant pointe experience. Male dancers should be actively participating in regular ballet technique and strength training.
Faculty approval may be required.
