This class focuses on learning various hip-hop styles and performance quality. Students will also have an opportunity with freestyle movement to develop their own sense of style. Students will also learn basic tumbling skills (forward rolls, handstands, headstands, cartwheels, etc.) to help strengthen and provide stamina.
Performances: This is a performance class. For performances, students will need any style of black sweatpants, leggings, or athletic shorts in good condition (provided by the parent) and a studio T-shirt (provided by the studio - payment due September 11), and any style of CLEAN sneaker (see note on shoes below in dress code). Students will perform in The Dickens Festival early December, a Christmas Concert in mid-December, and a Spring Concert in May. Instead of charging spectators at the door, students will pay a performance fee of $50 per student or $75 for families with two or more performing immediate family members. The Christmas Concert fee is due October 23. The Spring concert fee is due March 5. All fees will run on due date with billing information on file.

Students will learn the principles and fundamentals of jazz technique and multi-style performance skills, along with jazz choreography for studio recitals. They will also learn terminology associated with balance, dexterity, flexibility, fluidity, isolations, precision, posture placement, rhythm, strength, and syncopation.

Students attending this class must also register for and attend a leveled jazz technique class, and should have at least 2-3 years of recent Jazz experience.
