Through the Lens Photo & Film Camp (7-12)
JULY 20TH - 24TH
Step into the world of storytelling through film and photography in Through the Lens 2026, an immersive, hands-on camp designed for aspiring creators. Over the course of five days, students will explore every stage of the filmmaking process—from initial concept to final screening—while developing both technical skills and creative confidence.
Campers begin by learning the fundamentals of film production, including camera operation, crew roles, and visual storytelling techniques such as mise-en-scène and camera angles. As the week progresses, they dive into screenwriting, crafting original ideas, treatments, and short scripts using professional formatting and story structure.
Midweek, the focus shifts to production. Students collaborate in teams to bring their ideas to life, gaining experience directing actors, managing a set, and capturing compelling footage. They also explore photography through creative exercises and a photo series project that sharpens their visual eye.
In the final days, campers learn the art of editing—discovering how cuts, pacing, and sequencing shape emotion and meaning. They refine their films through reshoots and post-production, culminating in a public screening where students showcase their completed work.
Throughout the camp, participants build valuable skills in collaboration, problem-solving, and creative expression—all while gaining a deeper understanding of how powerful stories are told through the lens.

Xanadu Jr (6-12)
JULY 20TH - 31ST
A hilarious musical adventure about following your dreams in the face of obstacles, Xanadu JR. follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek Muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980. Kira is on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time... the first ROLLER DISCO! (Remember, it's 1980). But when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and chaos abounds.
Xanadu JR. features a charmingly witty book by Douglas Carter Beane and great pop music and lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar. The student version of the show is based on the Tony nominated Broadway musical, which was based on the 1980 Universal Pictures film with a screenplay by Richard Danus and Marc Rubel, which in turn, was inspired by the 1947 film “Down to Earth.”
AUDITIONS: June 28th, 3-8 pm. Dance, Singing, and Acting Call. Can be submitted by video as well. This needs to happen so that kids can come to rehearsals with their lines memorized and songs memorized before the rehearsals happen.
REHEARSALS: July 20 - 31 M-F
9:00 am-12 pm, 12:00-1:00 pm Lunch break, 1:00-5:00 pm
PERFORMANCES: July 31 at 7 pm; August 1 at 2 pm and 7 pm

Choreo to Camera: Industry Intensive
JUNE 1ST - 5TH
Have you seen those dance videos going viral online? The ones with the crisp, hip-hop choreography and professional video recording? So imagine that, but in an all-week intensive. Each day you will learn choreography to a trending song that you'll later dance on camera in our beautiful Grand Lobby. And not only will you learn hip-hop choreography, you'll also learn a jazz fusion routine and a lyrical/contemporary piece. Each day, you'll learn (or brush up on) foundational dance techniques needed for that day's choreography. You'll then have an hour to learn the choreo before we start recording groups (or solos if you are so bold). After that, each day you'll learn choreography to a hit song that we will stage and record a music video to by the end of the week. And to finish each day, you will learn how to choreograph a piece of your own that you'll perform live Friday night. Alongside this live performance, we'll also screen our music video and workshop videos that we've made throughout the week. This camp intensive is designed to give you a taste of industry standard dance practices in a commercial environment. This is the type of work you'll see everywhere in Los Angeles and New York City. So what are you waiting for? Get ready for the Choreo to Camera: Industry Intensive with latest staff addition, Demi Cartwright.

Salsa and Bachata
AUGUST 29TH
What is Salsa? Salsa is a vibrant social dance with roots in Cuban and Caribbean culture, danced to the
rhythms of salsa music. What is Bachata? Bachata is a social dance originating from the Dominican
Republic, danced to the genre of bachata music.
In this class, you will learn the fundamentals of both salsa and bachata — footwork, body movement, and
musicality — giving you a well-rounded foundation in two of the most popular Latin social dances in the
world. These are dances that anyone can learn. If you know how to walk, you can learn salsa and bachata.
Whether you're completely new to these styles or want to brush up on your foundations, this is the perfect
Master Class for you.
This class will last 2–3 hours. In the first hour, we will cover basic salsa footwork, timing, and body
movement, including the essential on1 timing structure. In the second hour, we shift to bachata — exploring
its distinctive footwork, body rolls, and musicality. In the final hour, you will learn a solo combination for
each dance and how to dance with a partner in both styles. You do not need a partner to attend this class,
as traditional classes involve rotating partners. This not only gives every person the opportunity to dance
with a partner, but also allows you to experience how each individual is unique to dance with.
This will be a fun, warm, and safe space for dancers of all levels and experiences to learn in.
