Mascot Minis
MASCOT Minis is a playful and creative theatre class for performers ages 5–7 who are ready to explore storytelling through imagination, movement, and fun. This semester, students will journey around the world through animal folk tales and fables, discovering clever tricksters, brave heroes, mischievous creatures, and important lessons from many different cultures and traditions.
Through theatre games, music, movement, simple acting exercises, and hands-on creative activities, students will build confidence, listening skills, teamwork, and early stage performance techniques in a warm and encouraging environment. Along the way, they’ll learn how to bring animal characters and exciting stories to life on stage.
The semester will conclude with a performance at the MASCOTarts end-of-semester showcase, where students will share their hard work and creativity with family and friends.

Stage Beats is a high-energy music and movement class where young performers explore rhythm, storytelling, creativity, and ensemble skills through hands-on musical play. Students will experiment with percussion instruments, body rhythm, movement, vocal expression, and theatrical soundscapes while building confidence, coordination, listening skills, and stage presence. Blending the feel of a classic music class with the imaginative spirit of theatre, Stage Beats is the perfect foundation for young performers, creators, and future storytellers.

This semester, students will dive into the world of musical theatre through scenes, songs, choreography, character work, and rehearsal techniques as they prepare a Broadway Musical Review
Students will build confidence in acting, singing, movement, stage presence, and ensemble performance while learning what it takes to rehearse and perform as part of a musical cast. Intro to Principles of Design
Principles of Design is a hands-on creative class for students ages 11+ who are interested in the visual storytelling side of theatre and art. Students will explore the foundational elements and principles of design including color, balance, texture, shape, composition, and visual focus before applying those concepts to theatrical costume design, props, set design, and lighting design projects. Through sketching, creative problem solving, discussion, and practical design activities, students will learn how designers help bring stories, characters, and worlds to life onstage. This class also works especially well as a visual arts credit for homeschool students seeking a creative, project-based arts education experience.

Stage & Scholar is an advanced theatre literature and performance class for students interested in exploring great plays through both academic analysis and live performance. This semester, students will study Cyrano de Bergerac through script analysis, discussion, character exploration, historical context, and scene work before bringing selected moments from the play to life in performance. Combining elements of English language arts, literary analysis, and actor training, Stage & Scholar challenges students to think deeply about storytelling, language, themes, and performance while building confidence, communication skills, and theatrical technique.
This class works especially well as a middle or high school English credit for homeschool students. Students who wish to pursue credit may choose to complete additional out-of-class reading and writing assignments in order to count the course as a 0.5 credit English/literature course.

Students will learn the basics of hand-to-hand stage combat, introductory sword techniques, falls, reactions, choreography, storytelling through movement, and essential stage safety practices. Emphasizing control, trust, teamwork, and performance skills, this class teaches students how to create the illusion of combat while keeping performers safe and confident. Perfect for actors, movers, and energetic students alike, Intro to Stage Combat also works especially well as a homeschool PE credit through its focus on movement, coordination, physical awareness, and active participation.

Stage Sprouts
Our youngest performers are ready to grow! Stage Sprouts introduces ages 3–5 to the joy of theatre through stories, music, movement, games, imaginative play, and creative exploration.
Each class gives students lots of ways to play and learn together. We read stories and practice retelling them through movement, dramatic play, puppetry, and simple performances. We sing songs, play theatre and movement games, explore rhythm and music, create characters, and use our imaginations to bring stories and ideas to life.
Along the way, Stage Sprouts helps develop early literacy and retelling skills, confidence, communication, coordination, listening, cooperation, and creativity—all through a playful, developmentally appropriate introduction to theatre.

Building on foundational theatre techniques, students will explore more advanced character work, stage movement, vocal expression, comedic timing, script analysis, and rehearsal practices while preparing a fully staged performance of Sideways Stories from Wayside School at the end of the semester. Designed to meet students at their individual experience levels, Drama Llamas 2 encourages performers to grow in confidence, creativity, responsibility, and stage presence while continuing to build strong ensemble and storytelling skills.
