CLRG’s grade examination scheme provides a structured framework for dancers to build a strong foundation in Irish dance through developing their stamina, expression, musicality and knowledge of the traditional dances and culture. Whether individuals dance for health, recreation, competitively or hope to pursue a career in Irish dance in the future, this scheme aims to help dancers of all ages and ability work towards an achievable goal.
A dancer who successfully completes all 12 grades will be awarded the Dioplóma Scrúdú Rinceoirí (Diploma of the Irish Dancing Commission) and is considered eligible to apply for the TCRG examination.

Pre-Intermediate focuses on refining technique, improving strength and flexibility, increasing stamina, and building confidence in both soft shoe and hard shoe basics.
Dancers will continue developing proper posture, turnout, timing, rhythm, and foot placement while learning more challenging combinations and preparing for the increased pace and expectations of Intermediate classes. This is the perfect bridge class for students who are ready for the next step in their Irish dance journey but still need additional time to solidify core skills and technique.
Placement is based on progress evaluations and teacher recommendation.
