Musical Theatre Foundations is Stage Local Prep’s core open-enrollment class, designed for students who want to grow in confidence, creativity, and performance skills in a joyful, supportive environment.
Students receive age-appropriate training in the three foundational pillars of musical theatre: performance, musicality, and movement. Through acting exercises, vocal work, movement, storytelling, and ensemble-based activities, students build the skills needed to become confident, well-rounded performers both on and off the stage.

Vocal Foundations for Performers
Vocal Foundations for Performers is Stage Local Prep’s specialized musicality studio class designed to help students build the foundational music skills every performer needs to succeed.
This class goes beyond simply learning songs. Students develop essential musical literacy and vocal skills, including rhythm, pitch, counting, harmony, music reading, and vocal independence—all through the lens of musical theatre performance.
Students will learn how to:
-Confidently count and follow rhythm
-Understand basic sheet music and musical markings
-Strengthen pitch accuracy and ear training
-Sing with greater independence and musical confidence
-Develop foundational vocal technique for healthy singing
This class is ideal for students pursuing deeper musical theatre training, private voice study, or advanced performance opportunities.

Unlike traditional technique-only dance classes, this class focuses specifically on the movement skills needed for musical theatre performers, helping students become stronger, more expressive storytellers on stage.
Students will develop skills such as:
-choreography retention and execution
-rhythm and musical phrasing
-coordination and body awareness
-performance quality and stage presence
-storytelling through movement
This class is ideal for students who want to strengthen their movement skills, feel more confident in dance calls and auditions, and grow into more versatile, well-rounded performers. Because Studio classes offer more specialized instruction and move at a faster pace than Foundations classes, they are best suited for students ready for focused training and deeper artistic growth.
