JAZZ A
Mondays · 4:15–5:10 PM
Foundational Level
Taught by Skyler Collins
Jazz A establishes the foundational vocabulary, coordination, and movement principles of jazz dance.
Dancers are introduced to jazz technique through clear, age-appropriate training that develops rhythm, musicality, alignment, weight placement, isolations, flexibility, strength, and the ability to move with control and confidence.
Students begin learning jazz positions, directional changes, basic turns, kicks, leaps, jumps, across-the-floor progressions, simple rhythm patterns, and introductory choreography.
Particular emphasis is placed on learning how movement works: how to coordinate the upper and lower body, shift weight cleanly, use the spine, articulate the feet and legs, and respond to counts, accents, and changes in music.
Class also builds performance quality. Dancers begin exploring focus, energy, timing, and expressive choices so that technique and artistry develop together from the start.
Jazz A is designed to create strong technical habits while helping young dancers become grounded, musical, expressive, and confident in jazz movement.

LEAPS AND TURNS
Mondays · 5:15–6:10 PM
Ages 8+
Competition + Pre-Professional Track Only
Taught by Skyler Collins
Leaps and Turns is a focused technical class that develops the skills behind powerful, clean, and confident movement.
Dancers build elevation, improve jumping mechanics, and refine turning technique through targeted exercises that strengthen spotting, alignment, coordination, and control. Emphasis is placed on flexibility, strength, dynamic push, and the ability to land softly and safely.
Across-the-floor progressions and combinations help dancers apply their training in motion, linking skills with musicality and intent.
Students work on every part of the skill process — preparation, takeoff, rotation, placement, control, and finish — so that big skills are built through sound technique rather than tricks alone.
This class challenges dancers to raise their standards, refine their execution, and move with clarity, precision, and confidence.

JAZZ B
Mondays · 7:15–8:10 PM
Intermediate / Advanced
Director Approval for Placement Needed
Taught by Skyler Collins
Jazz B builds on the technical foundation established in Jazz A while asking dancers to take greater responsibility for the application of their technique, musicality, and performance quality.
Training expands through longer combinations, more complex across-the-floor work, turns, leaps, jumps, directional changes, dynamic shifts, rhythmic complexity, and increased use of the torso and movement texture.
Dancers continue strengthening alignment, control, flexibility, coordination, weight placement, and groundedness while developing cleaner execution and greater consistency in jazz technique.
Musicality is studied more deeply as dancers learn to respond to phrasing, accents, syncopation, dynamics, and changes in musical texture with greater clarity and intention.
As artistry develops, dancers are expected to make more specific performance choices through focus, timing, attack, dynamics, and projection, allowing technique and expression to work together.
Jazz B represents the progression from learning jazz vocabulary to applying it with greater strength, control, interpretation, and individuality.

THE DANCER’S PRACTICE
Tuesdays · 4:15–5:10 PM
Competitive Team + Pre-Professional Track Only
Taught by Studio Owner Caroline Behan
A dedicated practice for the care, conditioning, and technical preparation of the dancer’s body.
Through strength work, mobility, stretching, Pilates, yoga, calisthenics, stability training, alignment, and placement, dancers learn how to prepare, restore, organize, and strengthen the body for movement.
The focus extends beyond simply becoming stronger or more flexible. Dancers work to understand how strength, range of motion, alignment, stability, placement, and body awareness translate directly into cleaner, more efficient, and more intentional technique.
Each class creates space to reset, maintain, prepare, and progress — giving serious dancers the tools to better understand their instrument, care for it, and use it with greater control and intention.

PRE-POINTE + BEGINNING POINTE
Tuesdays · 5:15–6:10 PM
Director Approval Required
Taught by Studio Owner Caroline Behan
A focused technical class designed to prepare dancers for pointe work and support the earliest stages of training en pointe.
Through foot and ankle strengthening, alignment, articulation, balance, turnout support, core stability, placement, and controlled weight transfer, dancers develop the physical understanding and technical habits required for safe, confident pointe progression.
Pre-pointe dancers work toward readiness by building the strength, mobility, control, and consistency necessary before advancing into pointe shoes. Beginning pointe dancers apply those same principles at the barre and through introductory pointe exercises, with an emphasis on correct placement, clean transitions, proper use of the feet, and controlled execution.
The class is designed to develop more than the ability to stand en pointe. Dancers learn how to support, articulate, align, and control the body from the floor up, creating a strong technical foundation that can continue to develop as pointe work becomes more complex.
Progression is based on individual readiness, technical consistency, strength, and safe execution rather than age or time spent in class.

Acrobatics A
Caroline Behan
ACROBATICS A
Wednesdays · 4:15–5:10 PM
Ages 6+
Taught by Studio Owner Caroline Behan
Acrobatics A establishes the technical foundation on which more advanced acrobatic work is built.
Dancers develop proper placement and execution of foundational skills including rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and bridges, progressing toward standing into and recovering from bridges, limbers, and introductory walkover progressions as individual strength, flexibility, and readiness develop.
Strength and flexibility are treated as an essential part of the technique rather than separate goals. Dancers work to develop the shoulder, core, back, leg, and supporting strength necessary to control their movement while building the mobility required to execute skills with greater range and ease.
As skills become consistent, dancers begin learning how to move into and out of acrobatic elements with intention — developing transitions, pathways, musical timing, and movement quality that allow acrobatics to blend naturally into dance choreography.
The emphasis remains on quality before difficulty: understanding the placement, mechanics, and control of each skill before progressing to the next.

ACROBATICS B
Wednesdays · 5:15–6:10 PM
Ages 8+ · Placement by Readiness
Taught by Studio Owner Caroline Behan
Acrobatics B continues the progression established in Acrobatics A for dancers who demonstrate consistent foundational placement, strength, flexibility, and control.
Dancers work toward increasingly complex acrobatic skills and combinations while refining the technique underneath them — developing stronger inversions, controlled weight transfers, back and front flexibility skills, walkover progressions, balances, transitions, and more advanced individual skill pathways according to each dancer’s readiness.
Greater emphasis is placed on control through transitions and sequencing. Dancers learn to connect multiple movements, change direction and level, recover cleanly from skills, and maintain line, placement, and movement quality throughout an acrobatic phrase.
Acrobatics B also expands the relationship between acrobatics and artistry. Rather than approaching a skill as a pause in the choreography, dancers learn to incorporate acrobatic movement into phrases with musicality, dynamics, intention, and seamless transitions.
Progression is based on demonstrated strength, flexibility, technical consistency, body awareness, and safe execution rather than age alone.

Pre-Professional Track + Dancers of Equivalent Level
Taught by Studio Owner Caroline Behan
Ballet C is Reality’s highest-level classical ballet class and is reserved for dancers training on the Pre-Professional Track or dancers demonstrating an equivalent level of technical readiness, maturity, strength, and understanding.
Dancers entering Ballet C are expected to have an established classical vocabulary and a strong working understanding of placement, alignment, turnout, coordination, musicality, and the technical principles developed through earlier training.
Exercises become increasingly detailed and demanding, challenging dancers to maintain anatomical organization and technical clarity through greater speed, complexity, sustained balances, turning sequences, adagio, allegro, intricate footwork, directional changes, and advanced coordination.
At this level, the emphasis shifts from simply learning and applying technique toward refining, individualizing, and embodying it.
Dancers are expected to understand the purpose of exercises, retain and independently apply corrections, recognize patterns within their own bodies, and take increasing ownership of how they prepare, work, and progress.
Artistry is approached as part of technical mastery rather than something added afterward. Musicality, épaulement, line, dynamics, intention, and quality of movement are developed alongside physical execution so that technique becomes a tool for expression.
Placement in Ballet C is determined by the instructor and is based on technical proficiency, physical readiness, consistency, work ethic, maturity, and the dancer’s ability to safely sustain the demands of advanced training.

KINDER COMBO
Thursdays · 4:15–5:10 PM
Ballet • Jazz • Acrobatics
Taught by Studio Owner Caroline Behan
Kinder Combo builds upon the classroom awareness and movement foundations introduced at the preschool level while beginning to resemble a more traditional, structured dance class.
The class remains developmentally appropriate and engaging, but dancers are asked to take greater responsibility for listening, remembering, following patterns, maintaining their places, and carrying corrections from one exercise into the next.
Training introduces foundational elements of ballet, jazz, and acrobatics, allowing young dancers to begin developing a broader physical vocabulary while strengthening coordination, balance, flexibility, musicality, rhythm, alignment, and body awareness.
Ballet introduces structure, placement, terminology, line, and classical movement patterns.
Jazz encourages rhythm, dynamics, coordination, performance quality, and freedom of movement.
Acrobatics introduces age-appropriate strength, flexibility, weight transfer, spatial awareness, and foundational floor skills.
Rather than treating these as three disconnected styles, dancers begin learning how the same body can organize itself differently depending on the movement being asked of it.
Kinder Combo also deepens the habits of being a dance student: listening carefully, waiting and watching, moving in lines and formations, respecting personal and shared space, taking turns, responding to terminology, and participating as part of an ensemble.
The goal is to give dancers a strong, healthy beginning — one that develops both the physical foundations of dance and the discipline, confidence, curiosity, and respect required to continue learning it.

BALLET A
Thursdays · 5:15–6:10 PM
Minimum Age: 6
Taught by Studio Owner Caroline Behan
Ballet A establishes the foundational language, structure, and physical organization of classical ballet.
Dancers are introduced to classical terminology, positions, barre structure, center work, musical counts, directional vocabulary, and the purpose behind foundational exercises. Particular attention is given to posture, alignment, placement, turnout development, coordination of the head and arms, weight transfer, foot articulation, and the relationship between the upper and lower body.
Students begin learning not simply what an exercise looks like, but what it is designed to accomplish and how the body works to execute it correctly.
Through progressive exercises and repetition, dancers build the strength, coordination, musical awareness, discipline, and body understanding necessary for continued classical training.
Ballet A is designed to establish healthy technical habits from the beginning while respecting the structure, development, and individual needs of each dancer’s body.

Tap A/B
TAP A/B
Thursdays · 6:15 - 7:10PM
Taught by Abigail Wright
Tap A/B is a combined-level class designed to build strong technical and musical foundations while welcoming dancers into a broad early training range.
Dancers develop foundational tap vocabulary while learning the mechanics beneath each step: where the weight is placed, which part of the foot produces the sound, how the body transfers from one movement to another, and where the rhythm belongs within the music.
Particular attention is given to clarity, timing, coordination, articulation, balance, rhythmic accuracy, and clean weight transfer.
As vocabulary develops, dancers begin connecting individual steps into longer combinations while working with basic counts, tempos, rhythmic patterns, and introductory subdivisions.
Students are encouraged to listen critically to their own sounds and begin recognizing when a rhythm is rushed, delayed, unclear, or disconnected from the music.
Because this class welcomes a broader range of developing tap dancers, training allows students to strengthen their individual foundations while gradually expanding musical confidence, coordination, and control.
Tap A/B builds dancers who can increasingly hear what they are doing, understand what they are doing, and coordinate the two.

BALLET B
Thursdays · 7:15-8:10 PM
Minimum Age: 8
Taught by Studio Owner Caroline Behan
Ballet B builds upon the vocabulary, placement, and physical principles established in Ballet A while asking dancers to take greater responsibility for the application of their technique.
Training expands through longer and more complex barre combinations, increased center work, turns, jumps, traveling exercises, changes of direction, coordination, and a deeper relationship to musical phrasing and dynamics.
Dancers continue to study the anatomical relationships behind their movement — developing a stronger understanding of turnout, alignment, core support, foot articulation, weight placement, balance, épaulement, and the coordination necessary to create classical line.
As vocabulary grows, dancers are increasingly expected to recognize, understand, retain, and apply corrections rather than relying solely on demonstration.
Greater emphasis is placed on maintaining technical organization while moving: carrying placement, control, musicality, and intention through increasingly complex combinations.
Ballet B represents the progression from learning ballet’s foundations to developing the ability to apply those foundations with greater independence, consistency, and control.

BUDDING BALLERINAS PRESCHOOL MOVEMENT
Saturdays · 10:15–10:55 AM
Preschool
Taught by Studio Owner Caroline Behan
Preschool Movement is a young dancer’s first introduction to the rhythm and structure of a real dance class.
Through stretching, introductory ballet movement, musical games, creative movement, rhythm, and guided exercises, dancers begin developing coordination, body awareness, balance, musicality, and confidence.
Just as importantly, they begin learning the classroom habits that allow dance training to happen.
Dancers practice staying in their places and lines, taking turns, following directions, recognizing simple dance terminology, listening for musical changes, moving together as a group, and understanding when it is time to watch, listen, or move.
The class remains imaginative, encouraging, and age-appropriate while gently introducing the discipline and traditions that make dance different from ordinary play.
Preschool Movement is designed to help children discover that a dance class can be joyful and expressive while still having structure, expectations, and purpose.
Class concludes with a traditional reverence — our thank you — helping even our youngest dancers begin to understand respect and gratitude as part of dance culture.
