Ages: 2.5-6 (must be potty trained)
This class is extremely important for the young child. This class provides a joyful way for our youngest children to explore movement through music and dance. Students will work on developing motor skills, rhythm, coordination and balance in a safe environment. Creative Movement explores the foundational movement patterns, musicality, and collaboration with other young dancers while encouraging creativity and fun. Fun props and creative games are utilized to teach introductory technique that will directly apply to future dance classes in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and more. Dancers must be potty trained to register for this class. Please make sure to view our dress code after you enroll your child. Note: this is a 45 minute class and tuition has been pro-rated to reflect a shorter time period in the studio.

This class will not perform in the Spring Dance Showcase. Parents may stay and observe this class if they wish.

About the Instructor: Tina brings energy, creativity, and deep purpose to every class she teaches at C.R.O.W. Tina shares her passion for gymnastics, theatre, and expressive arts while blending dance technique and heart to always inspire her students. With a background in early childhood development, trauma-informed care, and years of experience homeschooling and fostering children, she creates a supportive, inclusive space where every student feels seen and celebrated. Outside the studio, Tina is a dedicated animal rescue specialist who has saved and rehabilitated over 520 animals (and counting). She’s also a proud U.S. Air Force veteran and a mom of four. Whether she’s dancing, teaching, co-designing the Haunted Maze, creating props, or bottle-feeding baby kittens, Tina leads with compassion, resilience, and a deep love for her community.

Hip hop 1 is a high-energy dance genre using the latest youth-appropriate music. This style features movements that are influenced by some of today's top music video choreographers. Hip Hop was founded from a broad collection of urban street dance styles. Classes will provide a structured method of learning various styles of movement in a fun and fast-paced environment. Each class will incorporate dance combinations and will encourage individual expression and personal style. Please see class dress code.

About the Instructor: Noah Reed is a passionate hip hop dance instructor who has been teaching since 2017. With years of experience guiding dancers of all skill levels, Noah is committed to helping students develop not only their technical abilities but also their confidence and personal style. In 2024, Noah made history by founding the first-ever high school dance team at Newport High School, opening doors for young dancers to grow their skills and showcase their talents. Known for high-energy classes and innovative choreography, Noah combines technique with creativity to inspire each student to express themselves fully through movement. Contemporary One involves incorporating aspects of movement from several other genres such as jazz, modern, and ballet. Contemporary dance includes a warm up, center work, across the floor, and floor/levels work. Contemporary's primary goal is to communicate emotion and to express our human qualities by manipulating the body, time, rhythm, space, gravity, breath, and energy. Please see dress code.

This class will perform in the Spring Dance Showcase.

About the Instructor: Elyse was born in Billings, Montana and moved to Florence in 2010, where her family has well established roots. In 2014, Elyse began her journey with C.R.O.W. Elyse says, "Wow what a ride it has been!" She has performed in multiple mainstage musicals including portraying the roles of "Sandy" in The SpongeBob Musical and "Princess Anna" in Frozen Jr., plus multiple roles in The Holly Jolly Follies, Haunted Mazes, Dance Showcases, as well as many other events. Elyse attended the 2024 Summer Intensive Program with the Joffrey Ballet in New York and San Francisco.
Elyse has soaked up every bit of training available to her, always giving her all. Elyse has training in many areas from silks, Lyra (aerial hoops), tap, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, and her favorite - ballet/pointe. She has worked with a multitude of instructors over the years, as well as being a part of the Flight Dance Team for 4 years.
Elyse is excited for a new chapter in her journey as Director of Jr. Flight. Elyse says, "I look forward to sharing my knowledge with my young dancers, and I absolutely love to help fulfill C.R.O.W’s mission to provide high-quality Arts education to our community."

Youth Tap (Spring)
Ages: 7-12
Tap dance sharpens reflexes and improves memory skills and coordination. This introductory class for ages 7-12 will work toward establishing beginning to intermediate level tap movements, will build vocabulary, and will work on basic rhythms and steps that progress into fun and lively dance combinations. Tap dancing is a great way to develop musicality, timing, rhythm, and balance. Get ready for a lot of fun! Black, oxford style tap shoes required for this class. Please see dress code.

About the Instructor: Kelsi has been dancing since she was four years old. Dance has always been a huge part of her life, and now she is so excited to share that passion as a teacher!  Kelsi has built many incredible props and costumes for past productions, is a member of the Flight Dance Team, and has participated in many of C.R.O.W.’s mainstage musicals, dance showcases, and Haunted Mazes.  Kelsi says she is “looking forward to helping my students build confidence, have fun, and discover the joy of dance.”

Teen & Adult Tap (Spring)
Ages 13-adult
Tap dance is wonderful for all ages because it sharpens reflexes and improves memory skills and coordination. This mixed age class will establish beginning/intermediate level tap movements, build vocabulary and teach basic rhythms and steps that progress into fun and lively dance combinations. For more experienced tappers, the combinations will involve more intricate rhythms and patterns while beginners practice the basics. Tap dancing is a great way to develop musicality, timing, rhythm, and balance. Black, oxford style tap shoes required for this class. Please see dress code.

This class is known as the "Tip Top Tappers." This class will perform in the Spring Dance Showcase. If you wish to take this class, but do not wish to perform, please email Melanie first at crowtheatrekids@yahoo.com before signing up. Special arrangements can be made.

About the instructor: Melanie is a credentialed teacher with a Master's Degree in Education and was former "Teacher of the Year" for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LD3). She began her performance career at the young age of 2 ½ when she tap danced with a giant stuffed Raggedy Andy doll. Melanie has played many onstage roles, from "Sally Bowles" in Cabaret to “Lucy” in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, to the title role in Evita. Her professional arts training stems from the genre of classical ballet where she studied dance with the Joffrey Ballet, Kirov Ballet School in DC, and Ballet West in Utah. Ms. Heard has successfully directed and/or choreographed both children and adults in 65+ full-length shows. These productions include: Newsies, The SpongeBob Musical, Disney's Frozen Jr, The Wiz, Disney's Tarzan, The Addams Family Musical, Shrek Jr, Once Upon A Mattress, The Little Mermaid Jr, The Music Man Jr, Beauty & the Beast Jr, Honk Jr, Seussical Jr, Lend Me A Tenor, Steel Magnolias, Karaoke Kills Me, and You Dirty Rat! To add to this impressive array, Melanie also managed and produced Poison Pen Players, a professional murder mystery dinner theatre company, for many years with her family. Most importantly, Melanie firmly believes in the power of a high-caliber arts education. Following her passion for the arts, she founded, C.R.O.W. in 2011, because she believes that all youth need and deserve the arts to become responsible, contributing members of society. Melanie knows that "The Arts really DO matter," not only in a child's life, but to provide education, personal fulfillment, and happiness to each and every person impacted.

Ballet One is an introductory course in ballet technique, which will enhance the student's understanding & appreciation of this aesthetic art form while developing & improving balance, flexibility, and musicality. Ballet is an essential art form for all styles of dance, and all students who wish to become a stronger dancer should enroll in this class. This class begins at the barre, and then the students will go across the floor and do center work. Students must be able to focus on instructions from the teacher and may not be disruptive to others in order to participate in this class. Please see dress code.

She currently teaches Musical Theatre for Adults at Dynamic Dance in Springfield and choreographs around the Eugene area. Musical theatre dance is a style of dance that combines elements of various dance forms like ballet, jazz, and tap, with acting and character development to tell stories through movement. It's not a single, specific style but rather a description of the type of dancing seen in Broadway musicals, emphasizing expressive movement, musical interpretation, and stage presence.

This class will not perform in the Holly Jolly Follies. Teens/adults are welcome to sign up and join in the fun!

About the Instructor: Tina is a dedicated mother of four who homeschools and has a deep passion for both children and animals. She has rescued nearly 500 cats and dogs, specializing in feral cats and bottle babies, she has fostered more than 15 children, many of whom have successfully reunited with their biological families while she remains a cherished “Auntie” figure in their lives. With a background in gymnastics and movement, she loves inspiring young minds to build confidence and strength. A U.S. Air Force veteran, she is deeply committed to her community. Tina believes volunteerism is what makes the world go round and dedicates much of her time to giving back.

Summer Camp #1 - "Summer Stage Project" (ages 7-11)
Summer Stage Project is an exciting, hands-on theatre camp where young performers collaborate to rehearse and present a fully staged short play in just one week. Campers will explore acting techniques, character development, stage movement, and teamwork in a supportive, high-energy environment. The week concludes with a live performance for family and friends, celebrating creativity, confidence, and the magic of the stage.

No experience is required.  Space is limited. Sign up EARLY.  Camp hours are Mon-Fri from 10 am to 2 pm. 

There is a FREE showcase for parents on Friday, July 10th at 2:30 PM at C.R.O.W.

Cost: $175 (includes T-shirt).

Summer Camp #2: "Mix It Up Dance Camp AM" (ages 7-11)
Mix It Up Dance Camp is an exciting, high-energy week where dancers explore a new style each day with a different C.R.O.W. instructor. From jazz and hip hop to lyrical, contemporary, tap, ballet, and more, campers will build versatility, confidence, and technique while discovering what makes each style unique.  Who knows...you may just find a new style of dance that you absolutely love! 

The week wraps up with a FREE in-studio showcase at 2:30 PM to celebrate students' hard work and dynamic new choreography. This showcase will be a combination of both age groups (AM & PM).

No experience is required.  Space is limited.  Cost: $95 (includes T-shirt).

From jazz and hip hop to lyrical, contemporary, tap, ballet, and more, campers will build versatility, confidence, and technique while discovering what makes each style unique.  Who knows...you may just find a new style of dance that you absolutely love! 

The week wraps up with a FREE in-studio showcase at 2:30 PM to celebrate students' hard work and dynamic new choreography. This showcase will be a combination of both age groups (AM & PM).

No experience is required.  Space is limited.  Cost: $95 (includes T-shirt).

Summer Camp #4 - AAC "One Act Conservatory" (Ages 12+ with audition or invite)
One Act Conservatory is an advanced summer intensive designed for serious teen actors ready to elevate their craft. Participants will dive deep into character analysis, ensemble work, and professional-level rehearsal techniques as they prepare a fully staged one-act performance (title coming soon). The experience culminates in a polished public showcase that highlights discipline, artistry, and the power of compelling storytelling.

There will be a public performance held at the end of the camp on Friday July 31st, at 7 pm and Saturday, August 1st at 7 pm.  Participants must perform if they wish to participate in this camp.   

AAC Camp hours are 10 am to 2 pm.  Minimum Age: 12+.  Cost: $175 (includes T-shirt).  

Participation in this camp is by audition or invitation.  Ask us for information if you are new to C.R.O.W. and would like to participate.

Summer Camp #5 - Tiny Tots - "Once Upon A Stage" (ages 3.5-7)
"Once Upon A Stage" Tiny Tots Camp is a magical week designed especially for our youngest performers, where imagination comes to life through music, movement, and storytelling. Tiny tots will explore creative characterization, simple dance choreography, hands on crafts, and interactive story adventures as they step into fairytales, become brave heroes, and sparkle like storybook stars. With a nurturing, playful atmosphere and plenty of giggles along the way, this camp builds confidence, coordination, and creativity. This camp is perfect for little ones ready to shine on their very first stage!

This camp does not include a T-shirt. A small snack and all materials are provided. Please send your child with a bagged lunch and a water bottle, and have them wear clothing that they can easily move in. Costume touches are encouraged!

Summer Camp #6 - Tiny Tots - "Move, Groove, & Make-Believe!" (ages 3.5-7)
Move, Groove & Make Believe Tiny Tots Camp (Ages 3.5–7) is a joyful, imagination-filled adventure where little ones dance, play, and create their own magical worlds. Each day is packed with upbeat music, creative movement, playful storytelling, simple crafts, and themed activities that encourage confidence, coordination, and self-expression. Campers will twirl like butterflies, balance on top of blocks like superheroes, and dream up characters in a nurturing, high-energy environment designed just for young performers. This camp is the perfect blend of imaginative play, movement, and make-believe fun for your tiniest stars.

Teen & Adult Beginning Level Tap (Summer)
Tap dance sharpens reflexes and improves memory skills and coordination. This class will work toward establishing beginning/intermediate level tap movements, will build vocabulary and will work on basic rhythms and steps that progress into fun and lively dance combinations. For more experienced tappers, the combinations will involve more intricate rhythms and patterns while beginners practice the basics. Tap dancing is a great way to develop musicality, timing, rhythm, and balance. Black, oxford style tap shoes required for this class. Please see dress code.

This is a beginning level class and perfect for anyone who is new to tap and would like to learn some basic steps and terminology.

About the Instructor: Kelsi has been dancing since she was four years old. Dance has always been a huge part of her life, and now she is so excited to share that passion as a teacher!  Kelsi has built many incredible props and costumes for past productions, is a member of the Flight Dance Team, and has participated in many of C.R.O.W.’s mainstage musicals, dance showcases, and Haunted Mazes.  Kelsi says she is “looking forward to helping my students build confidence, have fun, and discover the joy of dance.”

Using core work, agility drills, and dynamic stretching, students develop proper technique, body awareness, and endurance in a supportive environment. Perfect for dancers, athletes, and more, this class helps enhance performance, prevent injuries, and build confidence—no experience needed, just a readiness to move and have fun!

Youth Jazz (Ages 6–11) is a high-energy class that introduces young dancers to the exciting world of jazz through upbeat music, expressive movement, and strong foundational technique.
