Is your keiki interested in learning hula but unsure where to begin? Would they benefit from an introduction to Hawaiian hula, culture, and ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi in a structured and supportive setting?
If so, we invite them to join Kumu Kehau and Aunty Elena for an introductory hula class. This course is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in basic hula movements, chants, and the cultural values that guide the practice of hula. Participants will also gain exposure to the Hawaiian language and the historical and cultural significance embedded within each dance.
This class offers a respectful and enriching environment where keiki can develop confidence, build community, and deepen their connection to Hawaiian culture. No prior experience is necessary, and all are welcome to participate.
This Season runs from Aug 8th '26-May 28th '27.

This class is designed to take our CURRENT & PREVIOUSLY ENROLLED hula students to the next level!
Students in this class will continue to refine their hula basics and technique, while learning new moves and more complex choreography.
This class will also introduce students to hula sisterhood! The older students will not only learn to dance hula, but the pivotal role of being a hula sister to our younger students. This role is so important as it will help teach the older students leadership skills, while the younger students will form lifelong bonds with their older hula sisters. It will give the younger students a position to aspire too.
REQUIREMENTS: Must have done at least 1 semester of hula here at KDC w/ Kumu Kehau, or by Kumu invite.

This course is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in basic hula movements, chants, and the cultural values that guide the practice of hula. Participants will also gain exposure to the Hawaiian language and the historical and cultural significance embedded within each dance.

A perfect first ballet class for your little dancer! They’ll build body awareness and movement skills while learning basic ballet positions, doing butterfly stretches, dancing with ribbon wands, and having fun with freeze dance in a supportive, playful environment.
Our little dancers learn more than just how to have fun and how to move those little bodies, they also learn about class structures, listening to instructions, taking turns, and so much more!
***Please note: Students enrolled in the August–December session only will not participate in the May stage performance. The annual performance showcase is reserved for students enrolled in the full year-long program (August–May).
However, August–December students will still participate in special in-class events and opportunities during December.
