AGES 11+: This first level of our intermediate program bridges the gap between beginner technique and more advanced classical training. Students begin to explore more complex barre combinations with greater attention to alignment, turnout, and musicality. Center work introduces longer phrases and new across-the-floor combinations that build on the skills developed at the beginner level, challenging students to move with more precision and confidence. This is where young dancers begin to truly find their footing — developing the strength, coordination, and artistry that will carry them through the rest of the intermediate program and beyond. Placement in Intermediate I requires completion of or strong proficiency in our beginner ballet curriculum.

AGES 13+. Intermediate III is the culminating level of our intermediate ballet program, designed for dancers who have progressed through Intermediate I and II and are ready to push the boundaries of their classical training. At this level, barre work becomes more demanding in both technical precision and physical stamina, with combinations that require a deeper understanding of alignment, épaulement, and musicality. Center work features longer, more complex phrases and across-the-floor combinations that challenge dancers to execute with fluidity, strength, and artistry. This is where technique and expression truly begin to merge. Students at this level are refining the skills that will prepare them for advanced study, and are expected to bring focus, dedication, and a commitment to growth to every class. Placement in Intermediate III requires successful completion of Intermediate II and instructor approval.

AGES 13+: Intermediate/Advanced Jazz is designed for dancers who have completed our intermediate program and are stepping into a higher level of performance-driven training. At this level, the focus shifts from learning styles and influences to fully owning the technical and artistic demands of jazz dance at its most dynamic. Turning combinations are multi-directional and increasingly complex, requiring consistent execution of multiple rotations, chained turns, and combination sequences that demand both control and stylistic confidence. Jump and leap sequences challenge dancers with greater amplitude, precision, and rhythmic variety — incorporating switch leaps, tour jetés, and combination passes that test strength, flexibility, and air awareness. Floorwork and level changes are integrated more seamlessly into choreography, demanding fluidity and athleticism in equal measure. Choreography at this level is intricate and performance-quality, featuring sophisticated musicality, syncopated rhythms, and stylistic versatility that moves fluidly between classic jazz vocabulary and contemporary movement. Dancers are expected to pick up and retain complex combinations quickly, perform with full expression and stage presence, and bring a high level of self-awareness and professionalism to every class. Each session targets the core elements of ballet, proper alignment, turnout, posture, and port de bras, through structured exercises that reinforce correct placement and body awareness. Students strengthen their understanding of basic positions, footwork, and barre fundamentals in a focused, low-pressure environment that encourages questions, repetition, and real growth.

Dancers at this level have developed a solid understanding of classical technique and are now challenged to execute that knowledge with greater consistency, refinement, and physical awareness. Musicality and performance quality become an increasing focus, as students learn to move with confidence, expression, and a growing sense of artistry. Beginner III dancers are preparing for an exciting transition — and this level gives them the time, structure, and encouragement to arrive at that next chapter fully ready. Placement requires completion of Beginner II and instructor approval.

AGES 10+ : Throughout its history, jazz dance has developed in parallel to popular music. Jazz is often the physical embodiment of the popular music of a given time and therefore continues to change and evolve. We incorporate several styles of Jazz dance using the techniques of Luigi, Bob Fosse, Matt Mattox and Jack Cole. Our school merges these techniques with the most current contemporary styles as well.
