This class introduces dancers to the fundamentals of Irish dance, including beginner soft shoe steps and basic team (ceili) formations. Dancers are assessed at the end of the session and may repeat Beginner or move to Beginner 2, where hard shoe is introduced. Younger dancers often spend a full year at this level as they build their skills and readiness for longer classes.

For dancers with teacher approval, this class includes both soft and hard shoe training (hard shoes required). Dancers build on skills from Beginner, learning full solo and team dances. Competitive dancers follow the feis syllabus for progression, while recreational dancers advance once they can perform key dances independently. Grade Exams are encouraged for all dancers to support structured growth and confidence.

This class is perfect for adults who are new to Irish dance or returning after time away.
