Pointe/ Pre-Pointe (Invitation Only)
Pointe/ Pre-Pointe (Invitation Only)
Pointe will be offered to students age 10 and older who are showing not only a strong classical ballet technique but also physical core and lower body strength. Students will be supporting their full body weight on the tips of fully extended feet whilst wearing pointe shoes. Dancers as young as 10 showing promising technique and strength will be invited to take this class however they will not be allowed to wear pointe shoes, instead wearing soft blocks. Soft blocks are designed to assist with strengthening the feet in preparation for point work. Students 11 and older will be assed thoroughly before the approval of pointe shoes. Extensive training, practice and dedication are required to successfully develop the strength and technique.

Strength and conditioning is vital for improving technique and performance. Focusing on stimulating the upper body, lower body and core while developing coordination, stability, flexibility and balance.
