Ballet 2 builds on the foundation established in Ballet 1, further developing strength, coordination, and artistry. Dancers will refine their technique at the barre and in center, learning more complex movement patterns, balances, and transitions. Musicality, performance quality, and discipline are emphasized as students grow in confidence and skill. Ballet 2 students will also have the opportunity to perform in our Spring Showcase, gaining valuable stage experience.

One $65 tuition payment for all 5 weeks.

Ballet 3-Instructor Approval Needed
Ballet 3 is designed for dancers ready to expand their technical ability, strength, and artistry. This level introduces more intricate footwork, increased movement quality, and longer combinations at the barre and in center. Dancers will continue developing coordination, musicality, and performance skills in preparation for more advanced training. Ballet 3 students are highly encouraged to attend Pre-Pointe, as once they complete Level 3 and receive teacher approval, they will be eligible to get their first pair of pointe shoes.

Teen/Adult Ballet 2
Teen/Adult Ballet 2 is a natural progression from Level 1, designed for students who have a basic understanding of ballet and are ready to build on their foundational skills. This class focuses on refining technique, improving strength, flexibility, and alignment, with more complex barre and center work. Dancers will continue to develop coordination, musicality, and body awareness, bridging the gap between beginner and intermediate levels.

Pre-Ballet is the next step after Creative Movement or a great starting point for young dancers who are ready to incorporate basic ballet technique into their class time. This class introduces fundamental ballet positions, movements, and terminology in a fun and engaging way while continuing to develop coordination, musicality, and creativity. Dancers will begin to follow structured exercises while still enjoying imaginative movement and storytelling. Perfect for children ready for a more focused class experience.

Ballet 1
Ballet 1 is the next step after Pre-Ballet, introducing young dancers to the structure of a traditional ballet class. Stretch & Strengthen
This class is designed to support dancers in building the strength and flexibility needed for healthy, confident ballet technique. Through targeted conditioning exercises, guided stretching, and alignment-focused movement, students will develop core stability, improve range of motion, and strengthen key muscle groups used in ballet. Regular participation helps dancers improve balance, control, and endurance while reducing the risk of injury. This class is an excellent supplement to ballet training, helping dancers move with greater ease, stability, and freedom both in the studio and on stage.

Contemporary

Step into a sweet and colorful adventure at our Candy Land Camp, designed especially for boys and girls ages 3–6! Dancers will journey through a whimsical world of treats and imagination, using creative movement, music, and storytelling to bring this playful theme to life.

Each day will include dancing, a snack, and a creative craft experience to add to the fun and spark imagination. Along the way, dancers will build confidence, coordination, and a joy for movement in a cheerful and supportive environment.

At the end of the three days, families are invited to a short in-studio demonstration where dancers can share what they’ve learned and experienced.

The $70 registration fee includes all camp activities, supplies, and snacks.

Pre-Pointe is for Ballet 3 students who are enrolled in and taking regular ballet technique class 3 times per week, helping them build the strength, flexibility, and technique necessary for pointe work. This class focuses on foot and ankle strength, proper alignment, and building the necessary stability to transition safely onto pointe. Pointe is for Ballet 4 students who are ready to dance en pointe, continuing to develop their pointe technique with more challenging exercises and combinations. Emphasis is placed on developing strength, balance, and control to support safe and effective pointe work.

Ballet 4 is for dancers ready to refine their technical abilities and take on more challenging movements and combinations. At this level, students focus on improving strength, flexibility, and fluidity, with more advanced exercises at the barre, in center, and across the floor. Ballet 4 students will also wear pointe shoes for part of their class time, continuing to develop their pointe technique. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to participate in partnering work, enhancing their collaborative skills and artistry.

August 1 Arynne Kunsaitis Master Class-Level 4 & Up
Arynne Belger began dancing at age three and has continued dancing ever since. She received extensive training in classical ballet with esteemed professionals including Janice James and Becky Gili. She performed multiple solo and principle roles in several dance productions, including regional competitions and full length ballets. After high school, Arynne was the recipient of several talent and academic scholarships that allowed her to continue her education at the University of Utah, Department of Ballet. Arynne received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and graduated with honors. While at the University of Utah, Arynne completed course work in the following aspects: classical ballet technique, variations, pas de deux, jazz and modern dance techniques, choreography, teaching principles and philosophy, musicality, injury prevention, and nutrition. She was also involved in the majority of departmental productions. Arynne was a member of the internationally recognized Utah Character Dance Ensemble. Arynne has enjoyed dancing and teaching in Utah, but is excited to be returning to her hometown of Idaho Falls, sharing her love of ballet.

August 8 Master Class Jef Horne-Level 4 & Up
JEF HORNE began his dance training at age 9 under Jacques d’Amboise of the New York City Ballet. He attended the School of American Ballet, performing children’s roles in The Nutcracker, Firebird, and Don Quixote with NYCB under the direction of George Balanchine. After high school, Jef attended the University of Utah, where he met his wife, Karen. He joined Ballet El Paso, dancing many solo roles and serving as Ballet Master, while also guesting with Denver Ballet, Bozeman City Ballet, Ballet West, and Salt Lake Dance Center.

Jef earned his M.F.A. in Ballet Teaching and Choreography from the University of Utah in 1992. He and his wife, Karen, were invited to take over The Studio for the Performing Arts in Fallon, Nevada, originally founded by Rob and Suzie Wood. For more than 30 years, Jef and Karen have choreographed, staged, and produced numerous productions, including The Nutcracker, Firebird, The Snow Maiden, and several original works for their annual spring performances.

Jef has a passion for teaching dance and choreographing, and he and Karen are proud parents of seven children and their spouses. They are also blessed with 12 grandchildren.

July 11 Master Class: Elise Elliott-Level 4 & Up
Originally from Sacramento, California, Elise Elliott is a retired Soloist with the Houston Ballet,
after dancing for over a decade with the company. In her pre-professional years, Elise became a
member of Houston Ballet II, Houston Ballet’s second company. After joining the company in
2007, she was featured in works by many distinguished choreographers, including Stanton
Welch, Antony Tudor, Ben Stevenson, Jiri Kylian, George Balanchine, William Forsythe,
Christopher Bruce, Sir Kenneth Macmillian, Twyla Tharp, Wayne MacGregor, and John Cranko.
After retiring in 2017, Elise became the Ballet Director at Texas Academy of Dance Arts in The
Woodlands, Texas. During her time at TADA, she grew their ballet department and was the
founding Artistic Director of their Youth Ballet Company. Elise then became the School Business
Manager and Professional Training Division Instructor at Texas Ballet Theater, as well as the
coordinator of their Summer Intensive Program. Beginning in 2022, Elise joined
the Sacramento Ballet as one of the company’s Rehearsal Directors. Elise is also a certified
fitness coach, and trains the dancers of The Sacramento Ballet. She is married to Former
Houston Ballet Demi Soloist, Rhodes Elliott, and they have three children.

July 18 Julia Wilkinson Manley Master Class-Level 4 & Up
Ballet pedagogue, history nerd, and healthy body image advocate. Passionate about anatomy, kinesiology, and injury risk management. Adamant that dance can be taught in a body-safe, healthy environment where vulnerability and authenticity are core values.

After her career as a professional dancer with Ballet Ireland, David Taylor Dance Theater, and Ballet Nouveau Colorado, Julia Wilkinson Manley served as the School Director for Broomfield, Colorado-based Ballet Nouveau Colorado from 2003-2013. In 2013 she founded a new non-profit organization, Colorado Conservatory of Dance (CCD), becoming CEO and Artistic Director. As a leader of CCD for 10 years, she developed community education programming for over 60,000 individuals, a nationally-respected syllabus for dance training, and produced and choreographed over 25 ballets.

Julia earned her BFA in ballet pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma, where she trained under the directorship of Mary Margaret Holt. In 2009, she served on the committee to rewrite the Colorado Academic Standards for Dance for the Colorado Department of Education and completed the Community Arts Education Leadership Institute (CAELI) under the mentorship of John McCann in 2015. Julia was honored in 2023 as a Legend of Dance by the Dance Archive at the University of Denver.

Many of Julia’s students have gone on to enjoy professional careers with dance companies such as Atlanta Ballet, Ballet West, Ballett Zürich, Colorado Ballet, Eugene Ballet, Houston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Oklahoma City Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theater, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Washington Ballet, Wonderbound, Verb Ballets, and more. Similarly, many of her students have developed illustrious careers as brain surgeons, architects, scientists, teachers, engineers, visual artists, writers, physical therapists, and more – all with the love for dance bolstering their success. Julia is committed to using her experiences with injury and body dysmorphia to positively impact the way dance can and should be taught. Julia is passionate about providing an environment for learning where dancers can feel vulnerable and authentic. Julia is currently the Co-Artistic Director of Colorado Movement Lab and New Paradigm Dance Theater, where dance technique is taught kinesthetically and without judgment, emboldening the community with curiosity, artistic sensibility, and tolerance.

July 25 Master Class Deborah Bean-Level 4 & Up
Deborah Bean has a diverse dance background that includes training from leading teachers Natasha Grishin of Ballet Arts, Michael Simms of Stephens College, Harriette Ann Gray (formerly of Humphrey Weidman), and Bella Lewitsky. Deborah danced professionally with the Harriette Ann Gray Dance Company and Ballet Oregon. After retiring, Deborah became known for her teaching skills at programs including Reed College Dance Workshop, School of Ballet Omaha, Minnesota Dance Theatre School, the Academy of Professional Ballet in Portland, and she is frequently invited to guest teach. After moving to Idaho Falls, she founded Idaho Falls School of Ballet, which has a record of producing dancers who receive college dance scholarships and positions in preeminent summer intensive programs. Idaho Falls School of Ballet has been involved in collaborations with professional musicians as well as the Idaho Falls Symphony. The school has an ongoing relationship with Eugene Ballet and Ballet Idaho. Students have participated in YAGP, the Northwest Dance Festival, community events in Sun Valley, Idaho as well as local productions with the Idaho Falls Arts Council. Her credentials also include a BFA in Dance.
