Ballet (Optional Pointe)
Classical Ballet Class including Barre work, center, & across the floor. Techniques will include Cecchetti and Vaganova. Focus will be on proper placement and vocabulary understanding. Pointe work is optional.
Specific to our youngest students (5 year-olds), you will be given a chance to dance with the older girls and then will separate for a smaller group setting with one instructor.

Contemporary
Explore musicality, unique shapes, and body, stage, and personal orientation within the space. Opportunities for improvisation, composition, partner lifts, weight sharing, and individual expression are all inherent to this dance discipline which blends ballet, modern, and various dance disciplines. Fluidity, expression, and experimental movement abound.

Technique w/Turns & Jumps
Technique class will alternate between dance styles and is up to the discretion of the instructor. Executing multiple turns and jumps will occur each week. Turn Boards will be used. This class is highly recommended to improve strength, flexibility, and to maintain the overall physical health of the dancer.

Conditioning w/Tricks & Acro
Weights, BOSU balls, Pilates Circles, Yoga Blocks, Exercise Balls, etc., will be used for conditioning. At least half of class time will be devoted to acrobatics (aerials, tucks, handsprings, etc.) and to tricks (540, Angel jumps, etc.).

Jazz (Theatre Jazz Included)
Jazz Dance arose with Jazz Music in the early 20th century. Elements include rhythm, body isolations, and feats of flexibility along with style and personal expression. Combos may range from Luigi technique to street jazz to Broadway inspired styles and each will allow for unique artistic expression.

Hip Hop
Deeply rooted in the cultural and historical experiences of Africa, hip hop dance found a home in New York City in the 1960's and 70's. It is multi-rhythmic and incorporates both choreography and improvisation. The evolution of hip hop showcases footwork, attitude, and a versatility which includes dance battles and freestyle movement.

Solo/Duo/Trio Rehearsal & Ballet
Every other week, dancers will alternate between Solo/Duo/Trio Rehearsal and Ballet class. The first week of class, Wednesday, August 26th, will be a Solo/Duo/Trio Reheasal. Ballet class will consist of Barre, Center, & Across the floor. Pointe work is optional.
All Soloists and dancers participating in a Duo or Trio MUST sign up for either Wednesday 6:00 to 7:30 Solo/Duo/Trio or Thursday 5:15 to 6:15 Solo/Duo/Trio.

Solo/Duo/Trio Rehearsal & Technique
Every other week, dancers will alternate between Solo/Duo/Trio Rehearsal and Technique class. The first week of class, Thursday, August 27th, will be a Technique class. Technique class will alternate between dance styles and is up to the discretion of the instructor. Props will be utilized.
All Soloists and dancers participating in a Duo or Trio MUST sign up for either Wednesday 6:00 to 7:30 Solo/Duo/Trio or Thursday 5:15 to 6:15 Solo/Duo/Trio.

Lyrical
Lyrical dance is ballet based and lends itself to musical expressionism as well as clean lines. Storytelling and displaying the narrative incorporating the mood and lyrics of the movement is paramount. Levels, dynamics, flexibility, and artistic interpretation will be explored in this class.

Competition Group Rehearsal
Looking for that "Team" group experience? This is the class session for that training and practice. Students will be placed in Group numbers and will attend competitions.
