Jazz Technique IV
An Intermediate/Advanced class for pre-teens and teens designed to expose students to a broad range of jazz vocabulary and contemporary concepts: improvisation and composition. The class increases technical awareness by focusing on strength, flexibility, agility, as well as acro-dance elements. Previous Ballet experience required. Concurrent enrollment in the Level III/IV/V Ballet, OR Modern, OR Teen Ballet is required. This class meets once per week.

Beginner Hip-Hop
An introductory class, ages 10+, focused on developing a foundational knowledge of hip-hop technique and culture through early 80s-2000s hip-hop music. Students will explore bouncing, rocking, body isolations, and polyrhythmic movement. Additionally, to build their cultural knowledge of early hip-hop movement, students will learn basic "baby" breaking and "party grooves".

This class meets once a week. No previous experience required.

Ballet Level A/B is a joyful introduction to the world of dance for our youngest dancers. Through creative movement, basic ballet steps, and imaginative play, students begin to explore rhythm, coordination, and musicality in a nurturing and structured environment.

This class focuses on developing listening skills, spatial awareness, and classroom etiquette — all while fostering a love of movement. Dancers will learn to follow instructions, take turns, and express themselves through dance, laying the foundation for future technical training.

No prior experience is needed. Ballet Level A/B is a perfect first step into the studio!

Students will learn popular hip-hop "party grooves" (i.e. Kid-n-Play, Chicken Head, etc.) to create connections between hip-hop technique (foundational bounces, rocks) and hip-hop culture (freestyle, storytelling).

Teen Contemporary
A survey class, ages 12+, with a focus on basic techniques from modern dance (i.e. the Horton technique used by Alvin Ailey, Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham), commercial dance (i.e. Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, etc.), and improvisation styles. The combination of these styles is referred to as "Fusion", and is a part of the contemporary style of dance. For safe and proper technique, students are encouraged to additionally enroll in Teen Preparatory Ballet This class meets once a week.

Using the base of Horton and Graham Techniques of Modern dance this class develops the body as an instrument of strength, control, breath, and flow. Students, ages 10+, must be concurrently enrolled in Level II/III Ballet, Children's Preparatory Ballet, or Contemporary Jazz III.

This class meets once a week.

Intermediate Hip-Hop
An intermediate class aimed to develop hip-hop performance and storytelling through early 2000s - present hip-hop music. Students, ages 12+, will use their foundational understanding of body isolations, rocking, and bouncing to explore more complex technical elements including waving, popping, & footwork. Additionally, students will deepen their cultural knowledge by exploring different movement qualities/textures (i.e. soft, smooth, staccato) as used in storytelling. Other storytelling elements include freestyling, dance formations, and generating choreography.

This class meets once a week. Experience in Beginner Hip-Hop required.

This class meets twice a week and requires additional enrollment in Level III/IV Modern, and/or Contemporary Jazz classes. Students are eligible to audition for CityDance Ensemble.

Students will gain confidence, classroom skills, and a love for dance while exploring two classic styles. This class is ideal for early learners ready to take their first steps in formal dance training — all while having a blast!

Acro-Dance is an art form that incorporates both fluid and graceful movements of dance and the difficult tricks from acrobatics. Dancers not only learn how to execute each move with strength, flexibility, and technique but also learn how to incorporate it into a dance routine.

This class meets once a week. No prior experience in tumbling required. However students must be currently enrolled in Ballet, Contemporary Jazz, or Modern.
