Pre-Pointe develops body awareness and healthy habits to reduce injury risk. As dancers move into Pointe, they deepen their understanding of whole-body coordination and progress through increasingly complex barre work. Over time, they build strength, stamina, and expressive freedom in a supportive environment for all bodies—encouraging both precision and exploration.

Requirements:
All Pointe classes must follow a Ballet Lab.

In Ballet class, students engage in imaginative exercises designed to build both strength and expressive ability. They will also begin working with both hands on the barre and develop critical movement skills in the center and across the floor.

Adult / G / H Composition Lab - Int/Adv (Season Commitment) MAY FESTIVAL
CML’s Composition Lab is a season-long seminar course culminating in the Endeavor performance in May 2026. The year is divided into two parts: the first focuses on lecture, directed improvisation, and the creation of short compositions using body, motif, phrase, and rhythmic structure. The second expands into choreography, incorporating music, theme, staging, and technical elements.

$50 Performance fee is due at registration in August.

Season Commitment (August 18, 2025 - May 16, 2026)

Students will collaboratively design and present original works for performance. This Lab builds the tools to view, interpret, communicate, and create dance—as both a performer and choreographer.

Like the musical form it’s named after, Jazz uses rhythmic syncopation, isolated movement of the torso and limbs, and emphasizes locomotion. Jazz technique develops alignment, coordination, strength, flexibility, rhythm, vocabulary, and enhances stamina, control, musicality, and dynamics. While there are many styles of jazz dance, all share a focus on performativity and a connection to popular and vernacular music and movement.

This class builds coordination, body awareness, and musicality in a supportive, accessible environment. Dancers develop a strong foundation in jazz styles with a focus on proper alignment, flexibility, and confidence—while encouraging self-expression and a joy for movement.

Designed for movers with prior Pilates experience, this class consistently follows the intermediate classical repertoire, while gradually introducing advanced concepts and progressions. Participants should feel confident with foundational Pilates principles and be ready to deepen their practice.

Dedicated daily pointe work in a low-stress, distraction-free environment means rapid technical growth — often achieving months of progress in a single week. Hard work, lots of nerdy fun!

This is your week. A full, immersive week dedicated entirely to you as a dancer — to move boldly, dig deep, and rediscover why you fell in love with dance in the first place.

CML's Adult Summer Intensive is an inviting, energizing intensive designed for adult dancers of all levels who want to grow — whether you're returning to the studio after a break, a dedicated recreational dancer, or a seasoned mover looking to go deeper. This is a place to explore, experiment, and find your voice, all in a warm, supportive, and seriously fun environment.

Rooted in technique and body science, the week invites you to question how the body moves and expresses itself — and to discover what your artistry truly looks like. Come ready to geek out about dance, anatomy, and movement, and leave with a deeper understanding of yourself as a dancer and a human.

The week culminates on Saturday with an in-house performance followed by a celebratory soiree. Come show what you've made — then celebrate the dancer you are.

A space to explore, experiment, and find your voice. CML's Movement Makers is an advanced intensive for dancers who want to both honor the traditions of movement and push beyond them — discovering what their own artistry can look like.

Rooted in a strong foundation of technique and body science, this intensive invites dancers to question how the body expresses itself, where art comes from, and how traditions must evolve to meet the challenges of today's world. The week culminates in a live performance showcasing what each dancer has created and discovered.

Come ready to geek out about dance, anatomy, and movement — and leave with a deeper understanding of yourself as an artist.

Pedagogy and Teacher's Toolbox is an immersive intensive for any dancer who has ever thought about teaching, is already teaching, or simply wants to understand movement and choreography on a deeper level.

Whether you're stepping into the studio for the first time as an educator or looking to sharpen what you already know, this program meets you exactly where you are. Through a dynamic blend of lecture, seminar, observation, and hands-on movement, you'll explore the core principles of great teaching — and walk away with real, practical tools you can use right away.

This isn't a one-size-fits-all curriculum. Led by Julia Wilkinson Manley and Chris Harris, the program is shaped around your individual goals — offering personalized guidance that helps you grow in confidence, clarity, and effectiveness as a dance educator. Expect to be challenged, supported, and genuinely inspired.

This intensive is designed for those looking to begin, build, or strengthen their teaching practice. Through a mix of lecture, seminar, observation, and movement, participants will explore core teaching principles and gain practical tools for in the studio.
