This combination class introduces our youngest dancers to the foundations of both ballet and tap in a structured, nurturing environment. Dancers will begin to learn basic ballet positions, classroom etiquette, musicality, and coordination through imaginative movement and guided exercises. The tap portion of the class focuses on rhythm, timing, and foundational steps, helping dancers develop a strong sense of beat and sound.

Performance Company - Competition Training
The Performance Company is designed for dedicated and passionate dancers, ages 5 to 18, who are ready to take their training to the next level and showcase their talent on stage. Group pieces may include classical duets, classical trios, contemporary groups, and classical group works, allowing students to experience a variety of performance styles and enhance their versatility as dancers.

Rehearsals take place every Saturday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, where students will focus on perfecting their choreography, stage presence, and artistic expression. Dancers will work closely with instructors to refine their technique, perform challenging choreography, and prepare for multiple performance opportunities throughout the year. Participation in the company gives students the chance to develop both individually and collaboratively, as they explore diverse repertoires in both classical ballet and contemporary dance.

To maintain their spot in the Performance Company, students are required to attend the entirety of their level's weekday classes, ensuring they have the technical foundation needed for the demanding repertoire. These classes will support their performance work and help them continue to progress in their overall ballet and contemporary training.

Performance Opportunities
Students in the Performance Company will have the chance to perform at various showcases and competitions throughout the year, including the Winter and Spring Showcases, Company Showcase in January, NYCDA, and Universal Ballet Competition (UBC). Additionally, students have the option to participate in prestigious events such as Revel, American Dance Competition (ADCIBC), and Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP). These performances provide invaluable experience for dancers, offering them the opportunity to demonstrate their progress, artistry, and hard work on stage.

Google Form Agreement
All dancers in the Performance Company are required to complete the Google Form agreement, which outlines expectations regarding finances, commitment, and costumes. This agreement ensures that both students and their families understand the responsibilities associated with being part of the company and participating in performances.

Uniform: Standard ballet class uniform (as per their level) and attire for contemporary or group work will be assigned based on the piece. Dancers will need to purchase a practice tutu for their variations.

Ballet Company - Pre-Professional Day Program
Our Daytime Pre-Professional Ballet Program is designed for dedicated ballet dancers who are committed to pursuing a professional career in ballet. This rigorous and comprehensive training program includes ballet technique, pointe, variations, Pas de Deux, daily Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) and cross-training, as well as ballet rehearsals. Students will focus on perfecting their technical skills, strength, and artistry in a structured, supportive environment, preparing them for high-level competitions and performances.

The program provides extensive training in classical ballet with a focus on improving performance quality, precision, and artistic expression. Students will have the opportunity to compete at prestigious events such as the Universal Ballet Competition (UBC), American Dance Competition (ADCIBC), Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), and New York City Dance Alliance (NYCDA).

In addition to competition preparation, students will participate in multiple performance opportunities throughout the year, including the Winter and Spring Showcases and the Company Showcase in January. These showcases allow students to demonstrate their growth and artistry in front of family, friends, and the community.

Training consists of the following weekly schedule:

Optional Tap and Jazz on Monday and Thursday is available.

This program is ideal for serious students who are preparing for professional-level careers in ballet, whether in company work or further education at elite ballet academies.

Pas de Deux on Wednesday:
On Wednesdays, students will participate in a Pas de Deux class, focusing on learning the fundamentals of partnering in a safe and supportive environment. For this class, dancers are required to wear a platter tutu from Mia Dancewear or Nikolay and pointe shoes that are fitted by Grit and Grace.

Students are expected to go through a new pair of pointe shoes approximately every two weeks.

Uniform: Any Yumiko leotard in Nylon/Crushed Velvet Eggplant combination, Nikolay pink tights, pink Nikolay StretchTek ballet flats, pink Nikolay stretch ribbon, and hair secured in a neat bun. Students may wear any colored MStevens Georgette #246 skirt and any purple leotard Tuesday-Thursday. Friday and Saturday are free dress days for leotards. Pointe shoes fitted by Grit and Grace Studio to streetwear are also required.
