This class introduces students to both ballet and jazz dance, while enhancing coordination, social, and listening skills. Your child will get so much more out of this class than just dance skills! Students are expected to be able to use the restroom by him/herself and dress themselves (girls wear a leotard and tights), but restroom use should take place before class, not during. We do understand there are emergencies sometimes where they may have to go during class, so all students must be potty trained and able to use the restroom on their own.

This class teaches students the beginner techniques of both ballet and tap dance, while enhancing coordination, social, and listening skills. This level III class runs twice a week and will build on ballet technique while enhancing strength, flexibility, and coordination through barre exercises, across the floor progressions, jumps, turns, and choreography. One class will focus on technique and choreography and one class will focus on technique.

Stretch/Technique/Turns/Leaps ages 10+
This class is designed to enhance dancers’ technique, performance quality, flexibility, turns, and leaps. Students will work on their dance abilities and learn proper form to get the most out of stretching as well as work on back, hip, leg, feet, and overall body flexibility while learning how to control that flexibility using correct technique. Dancers will also learn and practice various types of turns, such as pirouettes, fouetté turns, a la seconde turns, attitude turns, coupé turns, etc. Curriculum consists of preparatory exercises as well as proper technique and alignment to help master turns. Dancers will also work on their leaps, jumps, etc. Students should have at least one year of dance experience prior to taking this class.

This coed advanced jazz class will build on jazz technique for all students while teaching them to integrate these skills in challenging choreography. Girls dance in heels (purchased through the studio) for this class to accentuate their movements, and boys will dance in black jazz shoes.

This class is designed for students who are eventually looking to take pointe class. Students will work on strengthening the hips, legs, ankles, and feet. Students will utilize known ballet technique at the barre and in the center to prepare them to go on pointe in the future.

In order to take this class students must also be enrolled in stretch/tech/turns/leaps or ballet. This expressive style of dance allows for a wide range of movements and choreography. This advanced class will focus on feeling the music, stretching, strengthening, floor work, improvisation, and dynamic movements. Students will explore the full movement potential of their bodies in challenging choreography.

Our dance company is a committed group of dancers who perform at events, such as parades, showcases, dance competitions, nursing homes, etc. Ideally, they perform 7 times a year and attend at least 1 dance masterclass/workshop convention. Company members perform group pieces in the styles of jazz, lyrical, and contemporary. Our dance company season runs from September-May.

Tryouts are June 5, 2025 and results will be out by June 9, 2025. There is a $10/dancer audition fee.
