Formal training in the Classical Ballet technique utilizing a structured syllabus designed to increase technical knowledge and understanding of theory. As students gain proficiency, strength, and confidence, emphasis is placed on artistry, movement quality, and performing skills. Dancers at the Int/Adv level who commit to a minimum of three ninety-minute ballet classes per week are considered part of the Ballet Wooster Company, a pre-professional program for students ages 10+. These pre-professional students are committed to multiple classes per week, including ballet, pre-pointe, pointe, contemporary, and variations; guaranteed roles in performances; have opportunities for additional master classes, workshops, and intensives; and receive discounts at local dance stores. Classes missed are expected to be made up at a level of instruction or one level lower and within the current semester. Company students are also required to attend at least three weeks (M-Th) of Ballet Wooster summer intensives.
**Invited to perform in "The Wizard of Oz" - separate registration is required.

Description: A perfect opportunity for adults and teens to begin ballet or for those who wish to return to the studio. Classes will emphasize the joy of movement while working on flexibility, strength, balance and grace.
Dress Code for Adult Ballet:
Ballet shoes (leather or canvas), any style leotard and pink or black tights (dance skirts optional), OR comfortable clothes to move in such as yoga pants and a T-shirt. Please pull your hair out of your face and avoid clothing with bright graphics or words. Our goal is for you to feel comfortable and able to move freely without distractions.

Description: Come dance together! Through movement and music exploration, students will develop motor and social skills in a fun, friendly, and encouraging environment. As co-participants, this class pairs the young child and parent/caregiver. Our instructor will facilitate all movement as the adult takes an active role in supporting the little dancer!

Intermediate II

Formal training in the Classical Ballet technique utilizing a structured syllabus designed to increase technical knowledge and understanding of theory. As students gain proficiency, strength, and confidence, emphasis is placed on artistry, movement quality, and performing skills. Dancers at the Int/Adv level who commit to a minimum of three ninety-minute ballet classes per week are considered part of the Ballet Wooster Company, a pre-professional program for students ages 10+. These pre-professional students are committed to multiple classes per week, including ballet, pre-pointe, pointe, contemporary, and variations; guaranteed roles in performances; have opportunities for additional master classes, workshops, and intensives; and receive discounts at local dance stores. Classes missed are expected to be made up at a level of instruction or one level lower and within the current semester. Company students are also required to attend at least three weeks (M-Th) of Ballet Wooster summer intensives.
**Invited to perform in "The Wizard of Oz" - separate registration is required.
Minimum weekly class requirements for each level:
Intermediate I & II, Advanced I & II 90 min class, 3 classes per week required. Tuesdays are Company Night and are required for all Company members. Saturday classes are optional additional classes/make up opportunities that are being offered at no additional cost. This class may not be offered every week, so please check your email before attending. All rehearsals are mandatory. More than 1 unexcused absence may result in recasting or dismissal from the performance.
Dress Code:
Girls: Plain black leotard with no embellishments (camisole preferred), theatrical pink footed tights (dancers on pointe should wear convertible tights with split soles), pink ballet shoes (canvas or leather) with elastics properly sewn. No ballet skirts or leg warmers are permitted. Hair should be secured tightly to the head in a ballet bun with a hairnet. No bangs, loose hair or ponytails, please. No jewelry other than small stud earrings is permitted.

Description: A perfect opportunity for adults and teens to begin ballet or for those who wish to return to the studio. Classes will emphasize the joy of movement while working on flexibility, strength, balance and grace.
Dress Code for Adult Ballet:
Ballet shoes (leather or canvas), any style leotard and pink or black tights (dance skirts optional), OR comfortable clothes to move in such as yoga pants and a T-shirt. Please pull your hair out of your face and avoid clothing with bright graphics or words. Our goal is for you to feel comfortable and able to move freely without distractions.

There is a separate fee to help cover the cost of costumes and other expenses. All fees must be paid by February 1st in order to participate. All rehearsals will take place outside of class time, and all rehearsals, classes, and performances are mandatory. Dancers should expect to have rehearsals as late as 9p on week nights, and between the hours of 12p - 5:30p on Saturdays. Missing more than one rehearsal or failing to disclose known conflicts before the semester begins may result in recasting or dismissal from the performance. Registration will close on January 21, 2025.
