Discover what it's like to be on the other side of the table! BARCLAY Backstage gives students the chance to experience the technical side of theatre and assist the production team in creating the magic of live theatre. Each student will find the technical niche that is right for them and can assist in a variety of positions, including:
- Running music tracks
- Taking down blocking
- Media projection
- Backstage set changes
- Costumes
- Set building & decoration
- Props

It's our show now, kid! The ghost-with-the-most comes to the stage in Beetlejuice JR., the frightfully funny musical based on the beloved motion picture turned Broadway phenomenon. Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium.

THEORY OF RELATIVITY
This group of dedicated performers works together throughout the year as an ensemble, like a professional theatre company. Dedicated to honing their craft, higher level storytelling, production, a commitment to different styles of storytelling and an ensemble approach to theatrical work, the JB Show Performance Company works together as a unit to produce multiple shows a year of varying styles. Coupled with dedicated training and a passion for exceptional art, this performance company exemplifies the qualities of the person our company is named in honor of, John Barclay. Heart, teamwork, commitment to growth, acceptance, dedicated and disciplined work ethic, an ensemble attitude, kindness, professionalism and next-level performances- these are the qualities of the Show Performance Troupe and its ensemble members.

-Students wishing to join the JB Show Performance Company MUST be enrolled in at least 2 other programs or group classes at BARCLAY (any discipline) in order to be considered for casting. It's our show now, kid! The ghost-with-the-most comes to the stage in Beetlejuice JR., the frightfully funny musical based on the beloved motion picture turned Broadway phenomenon. Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium.

JUNE DANCE RX INTENSIVE
Are you ready to get your dance on?! Join us for our June DANCE RX INTENSIVE, run by Head of Dance, Lara Luzim.
This intensive will focus on working through different elements of dance-focused audition prep, growth mindset, how to train for an audition for commercial dance, concerts, Broadway, and beyond! Professional guest dance instructors will also visit throughout the week. On the last day of the intensive, there will be a mock audition to give students real audition experience!

Are you ready to get your dance on?! Join us for our June DANCE RX INTENSIVE, run by Head of Dance, Lara Luzim.
This intensive will focus on working through different elements of dance-focused audition prep, growth mindset, how to train for an audition for commercial dance, concerts, Broadway, and beyond! Professional guest dance instructors will also visit throughout the week. On the last day of the intensive, there will be a mock audition to give students real audition experience!

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

Set in the East Village of New York City, Rent School Edition is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, it has become a pop cultural phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages.
Based loosely on Puccini's La Boheme, Rent School Edition follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. The physical and emotional complications of the disease pervade the lives of Roger, Mimi, Tom and Angel. Maureen deals with her chronic infidelity through performance art; her partner, Joanne, wonders if their relationship is worth the trouble. Benny has sold out his Bohemian ideals in exchange for a hefty income and is on the outs with his former friends. Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, feels like an outsider to life in general. Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical JR., based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. It's a "big bright beautiful world" as everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance.
Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he's handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn't be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.
