The Chocolate Nutcracker: An Afro-Caribbean Experience - Ages 5 to 17
Canada is a unique blend of rich culture—flavourful food, vibrant style, music, dance and proud traditions. The Chocolate Nutcracker celebrates this by fusing Tchaikovsky’s classical music with Afro-Caribbean heritage.
Through creative workshops (students separate when learning routines based on ages and levels), youth reimagine famous scenes from the popular Ballet by exploring cultural sounds, movement, and storytelling rooted in the Black & Afro-Caribbean Canadian experience. Styles include:
Soca, Bhangra, Reggae & Dancehall, Amapiano & Afrobeats, Step Dance, Hip Hop, Breakdance, Lyrical, Contemporary African Drumming, Steel Pan and more!
***Special guest artists, musicians, choreographers & more***

Intermediate to Advanced Level. In order to see dance technique levels, dancers must also audition for Jazz and Contemporary, even if not choosing that competitive option.

Must have 2-3 years class experience in Acro and/or Gymnastics classes to audition. 1-2 years of Jazz OR Ballet technique is required.
