Put on your lab coat and goggles, and join us for a week of curiosity, creativity, and awesome adventures! From designing your own spellbook to learning fun dances and creating emerald-green masterpieces, every day is packed with wickedly wonderful adventures. Character Building Camp
This camp explores how to develop a character and become that character in a play or musical. We will explore three different categories of characters, over three days, commonly found in theater. We will start by choosing an individual character for your performer to become for the day (ie- Ariel- The Little Mermaid, Little Red Riding Hood- Into the Woods, Gaston- Beauty and the Beast, etc.) There will be a list of characters to choose from and corresponding worksheets, small scenes, costume examples, etc. for each character available. Throughout the day activities include acting games through the character we choose, learn a short dance as that character, design costumes, improv and movement as that character. This camp will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (July 15-17) from 10am to 2pm and is $150 total.

Nutcracker Bootcamp
The Nutcracker is a much-anticipated tradition, and this December 2025, we’re excited to present our very own abbreviated Nutcracker production — kicking off with a special Nutcracker Bootcamp! During Bootcamp, dancers will hone their technique, dive into the Nutcracker storyline and characters, begin choreography, and have the opportunity to audition (optional). August 5-7, 10am-2pm. $25 registration fee, $140 total.

Dancers cast in The Nutcracker are required to enroll in dance class at MPAS for all semester. Camp attendees are not required to audition for The Nutcracker.

Playwriting Camp
This camp is a chance for your writer to learn how to write a play! Over the three days we will write, edit, clean, and workshop a three to six minute play. Writers will be guided through creative writing exercises, character building, workshopping one-on-one and with the group, giving and receiving feedback for writing, as well as script format, different story structures, and different types of conflicts and resolutions. On the last day of the camp we will be bringing in local highschool volunteer actors to give our writers the chance to also direct and see the script on its feet- Guardians are encouraged to attend the showing at the end of the third day!! Laptops and chargers are required for every class as we will be writing and editing on them. This camp will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (July 8-10) from 10am to 2pm and is $150 total.

Each day includes hands-on theatre games, character creation, costume fun, and rehearsals for a spectacular final showcase for family and friends! This class explores the world of broadway choreography and character dance. We will learn classic dance moves often associated with Musical Theater dance as well as learning short dances to Musical Theater show tunes. Each class will start with a warmup, a fun acting game, a breakdown of movement and then a small section of a dance that includes previously learned moves for that day. Great for kids interested in theater and dance as well as ones who just love to move to Disney/young broadway songs. Geared towards ages 7-12, $16 per class.

Emphasis is placed on musicality, precision, and expression, blending classic jazz foundations with current trends. A great class for teens looking to grow as confident, versatile performers! $16 per class.

Acting Through Song
This is a class that explores how to act through musical theatre repertoire. Breaking down what it means to be a character through song and what it means to have a goal to pursue, engage with the other person you are talking to, to achieve what your character wants. Each class, students will work on their songs in front of the class in a live feedback/ workshop type of way. Performing in front of other students allows them to work on stage fright, how to work with an audience in front of you, and allows students to take notes from other performers and apply to themselves. Geared towards ages 9-18, $20 per class.

We'll dive into script analysis, character development, physicality, stage directions, and more—exploring how to act with a script in hand, understand character motivation, visualize scenes, and even prepare for mock auditions. Broadway Dance Workout
This class is a dance style exercise class designed to dance to and celebrate the world of Musical Theater while getting your body moving and your steps in for the day. This class focuses on enjoying physical movement for yourself and having fun rather than losing weight or getting dance movements “correct.” Each class will begin with stretching and a warmup, followed by a review of some steps, and then the main section of dance, and end with a cool down. Members of the class will also be able to suggest favorite musicals and songs! Think Zumba or Youtube workout videos! Geared towards ages 13+, $16 per class.
