Youth Classes (Spring 2026)
This is an introductory class containing ballet and tap. Dancers will learn the basic steps of ballet and tap while learning how to follow directions and imitate movement. The goal is to prepare these young dancers to move on to higher levels of ballet class in a positive and fun environment. Engaging music is used to get these little ones inspired to dance.

Warm-Up:
- Gentle stretches and basic warm-up exercises to prepare the body for dancing.
- Fun, age-appropriate activities to get children excited and engaged.
Ballet Segment:

Tap Segment:

This is a beginner class containing ballet and tap. This fun and exciting class inspires creativity and works on the fundamentals of ballet and tap. Students will develop musicality, coordination, strength, dance technique, rhythm, and body awareness in a caring, nurturing environment. This class is an excellent way for children to be introduced to the many benefits of the performing arts, gain self-confidence and a sense of accomplishment.

Discover the dynamic fusion of gymnastics and dance in our Open Level Acro Dance class, where dancers of all skill levels—from beginners to seasoned movers—are welcomed into a structured and supportive environment. Students will learn various acrobatic tricks, tumbling skills, and dance movements in a safe and supportive environment.
*Hair must be pulled back, and dancers must wear fitted clothing. No t-shirts.

Contemporary blends several types of dance into its own unique style. It includes elements of ballet, jazz, modern, and even hip hop. Contemporary dance encourages dancers to be versatile in their expressions and to be able to portray a wide array of movement styles and emotions. It focuses on spatial and body awareness, use of body weight, floor work, technique, efficiency of muscle usage, musicality and safe body alignment. Technical dance experience is recommended for this class.

Commercial dance is a highly stylized dance style that focuses primarily on learning and embodying choreography. It incorporates movements from hip-hop, jazz, house, and contemporary dance. It features a mixture of hard-hitting, detailed movement contrasted with fluid and sustained choreography. A strong emphasis is placed on performance quality and building confidence within your own execution.

This class is for advanced dancers with previous technical training. This class will build on prior knowledge and the ability to develop precision and accuracy in technical skills. Dancers will work on proper alignment, strength, flexibility, understanding of body awareness, and mobility to help improve their execution of leaps, turns, jumps, extensions, and other dance skills/tricks. Class will include warm-up, isolations, stretches, and across-the-floor progressions. It feels incredible to nail these moves, and it is the closest feeling you'll get to flying!

Hip hop uplifted generations of people in difficult socio-economic conditions, particularly in the African American and Hispanic communities of the Bronx where it originated.
