Students will explore vocal performance techniques and dance choreography as they sing along with favorite songs and create simple sets & props for a final end-of-session showcase.
This is not a full musical theater production class. Perfect for the student who loves to sing & dance, this is a great introduction to musical theater and performance in a relaxed, supportive environment.
*NOTE: Students will be grouped into two levels for this class based on previous experience and demonstrated ability during the first week of class.
Level 1 is perfect for the student who may be new to musical theater or who is working on gaining confidence on stage. (Typically our 1st-2nd grade students, and 3rd & 4th grade new to musical theater).
Those who end up in Level 2 will have higher expectations placed on them for rehearsals and for being prepared for class each week. They will also be given more advanced numbers to work on for the performance. (Typically our 3rd-6th grade students).
There is an end-of session showcase for family & friends during the final class of the session at 5:00.

The Acting for YoungStars 2.0 class for K-5th grade is full of theatre games, improv, and scene creation that help students shine on stage while building confidence & teamwork, and developing speaking & presentation skills.
This expanded 2.0 version of the class adds additional elements of theatre such as set design, program creation, and show production as students learn about the different elements that go into putting on a show. It is only available at Total Arts!
- Fees include all materials for designing sets, props plus a full-color showcase program.

Students will explore vocal performance techniques and dance choreography as they sing along with favorite songs and create simple sets & props for a final end-of-session showcase.
This is not a full musical theater production class. Perfect for the student who loves to sing & dance, this is a great introduction to musical theater and performance in a relaxed, supportive environment.
*NOTE: Students will be grouped into two levels for this class based on previous experience and demonstrated ability during the first week of class.
Level 1 is perfect for the student who may be new to musical theater or who is working on gaining confidence on stage.
Those who end up in Level 2 will have higher expectations placed on them for rehearsals and for being prepared for class each week. They will also be given more advanced numbers to work on for the performance.
There is an end-of session showcase for family & friends during the final class of the session at 5:00.

The Acting for YoungStars 2.0 (created by Jape Payette) is full of theatre games, improv, and scene creation that help students shine on stage while building confidence & teamwork, and developing speaking & presentation skills.
This expanded 2.0 version, unique to Total Arts!, adds theatre experiences such as set & prop design, program creation, and show production as students learn about the different elements that go into putting on a show.
Mornings will be spent designing & creating show elements and related art projects, afternoons will be spent with program creator, Jape Payette, learning scenes & songs for the final performance & participating in theater games & learning activities.

- The theme this week is "Party Time Too!" and each day we will celebrate different parties - maybe it will be an ice cream party, garden party, costume party, etc. - with stories, art projects, and other creative activities.
- Students will be grouped by age/grade based on registration numbers. Some projects may be different for each group but the overall theme is the same.
Each Sampler week is unique with a different theme, stories, art projects, and creative arts activities so your child can register for more than one Sampler program and have a unique experience each time!
