Mini Combo Ballet /Tap
A combination of Ballet and Tap for our dancers aged 4-6 years. Come join in the fun as we dance our way through summer and increase our dance skills!Dancers will learn the five positions, beginner barre work, basic turns, jumps, and traveling exercises. Emphasis is placed on body alignment, proper arm placement, and introductory terminology. Dancers will also learn basic tap skills and terminology. Dancers must wear leotard and tights. Pinks ballet slippers and tan tap shoes are required for class. Please pull hair back.

Tap Technique
Tap is a style of dance characterized by the sound of the metal tap striking the floor. Tap utilizes rhythm, syncopation, and sound in addition to movement. An emphasis is placed on musicality, expression, and improvisation. Tap Technique is offered in a multi-level format over the summer so that dancers may excel at their own pace. Dancers will cover the basics as well as more advanced skills and combinations...the sky's the limit for our summer tappers! Dancers should wear leotard, tights, and tap shoes. Please consult Victoria if you are new to tap to choose the shoes that are best for you.

Ballet Technique
This weekly session includes classes in ballet technique, pre-pointe and pointe work where applicable, lyrical, choreography and stretching. The goal of the intensive is to nurture, develop and challenge each dancer's technique as well as cultivate their self-expression and self-confidence. Dancers are to wear leotard, tights, and ballet shoes. Hair must be pulled back away from the face in a bun.

Wiggles and Giggles Summer
Wiggles and Giggles ( My Grown Up and Me)- Ages 18 mos.-3 yrs.
Explore the joy of movement with your child as props and pre-school music are used in a creative, fun-filled, learning environment. One parent or guardian is asked to stay in the classroom either to participate or to encourage the new student. Toilet training is not required for this class. Please no extra grown-ups or siblings (infants OK).

Adult Ballet
Ballet is the basis for all western dance forms and is strongly recommended for all of our dancers at Harmony Dance Academy.Emphasis is placed on body alignment, arm position, turnout, flexibility, fluidity, precision, and strength. Ballet develops fine muscle control, balance, flexibility, and technique which is a tremendous benefit for all other forms of dance taught at Harmony. In addition ballet terminology and technique is typically used and expected in many other disciplines including most tap, jazz, acro, and lyrical classes. Please wear comfortable clothing and ballet slippers.

Jazz Technique
Jazz Technique is offered for dancers ages 7 and up. This intensive works on jazz technique and also conditioning. Dancers begin the intensive with a fast paced warm up followed by center floor work. The floor work includes complex isolations, turn, jumps, and traveling exercises. The focus is on building strong technique, strength and stamina. The goal of the Intensive is to nurture, develop and challenge each dancer's technique as well as cultivate their self-expression and self-confidence. Dancers are to wear tights, leotard, and jazz shoes. Hair must be neatly pulled back.

Princess Camp
Weston's Premiere Princess Camp! Your dancer will celebrate and learn about a different princess each week! Activities include: dancing, crafts, creative movement, story time and much much more. Your dancer will have instruction in ballet, tap, and tumbling. Please wear leotard and tights, ballet shoes, tap shoes are recommended but any hard soled shoes will be fine for summer!

Lyrical dances are expressions of the music while relaxing some of the strict doctrines of classical study. An emphasis is placed on grace and fluidity, musicality, and expressiveness to capture emotion through movement. Students must wear tights, leotard, jazz or ballet shoes, and hair pulled back.

Tap utilizes rhythm, syncopation, and sound in addition to movement. An emphasis is placed on musicality, expression, and improvisation. Tap students are continually challenged with new steps and combinations at all levels. Advanced students are expected to be fluent with all core tap steps including the five basic time steps (both Buck and Rhythm variations). Please wear comfortable clothing and tap shoes. Call the studio if you are unsure of the type of shoe to purchase.

Camp Harmony
Camp Harmony is an intensive summer dance experience for our most dedicated dancers! Dancers will enjoy an all-day dance experience that includes ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, jazz, musical theater, hip hop, stretching and conditioning, flexibility, and turns and leaps classes. Campers will also have crafts, classes in hair and make-up, and lots of fun surprises with friends. This is the perfect camp to prep for the upcoming dance year at Harmony and is highly recommended for students wishing to join our performance company. Dancers will need tights, leotards ,and proper shoes daily, a peanut-free packed lunch and drink, water bottle and a love for dance! We can't wait to "camp" with you all week!

Correct terminology is taught for all types of dance. This class consists of 30 minutes of ballet and 30 minutes of tap. Parents may watch from the waiting room or leave and return for pick-up at the end of class. If your child needs help using the bathroom, we ask you to stay in the waiting area if she/he needs to go during class time. Dancers will perform two routines (one ballet and one tap) in the annual recital.

Students will learn Luigi based broadway jazz but classes may also include elements of theater and lyrical jazz.Dancers will perform two routines (one Lyrical, one jazz) in the annual recital.

Class is ½ Hip Hop ½ Acro- Students will warm up and rock it out to the latest songs while learning basic hip hop technique. Center work includes isolations, arm and head moves in basic patterns that are fun and challenging. Traveling exercises are geared to develop coordination and flow of movement. This class focuses on developing strong lines, strengthening the dancer's technique, and understanding the body's center of movement. Students will also focus on acrobatic and tumbling moves that will enhance their dance skills and routines. An emphasis will be placed on flexibility, stretch, and balance to increase technique on an individual level. Students will be taught proper technique for landing and supporting one another in partner work. Dancers will perform two routines (one hip hop and one acro) in the annual recital.
