We’ll focus on physical expression, vocal variety, emotional truth—and most importantly—supporting each other as we grow. This lab is fast-paced, fun, and filled with the kind of creative play that builds confident, connected actors.

Time to jump, spin, and groove your way into musical theatre dance! Dance Lab 1 introduces young performers to the fundamentals they need to feel confident and capable in choreography—from basic technique and body awareness to directional changes, rhythm, and timing. Through playful movement, high-energy combos, and lots of encouragement, students will build coordination, performance skills, and the ability to tell a story through dance. No experience needed—just a positive attitude and a willingness to move!

💃 Dress Code: Jazz shoes required. Please wear leggings, dance shorts, or jazz pants with a fitted top—no loose clothing. Hair must be pulled back and out of your face so you can leap, turn, and shine without distraction.

Whether they’re roaring like lions or tiptoeing like spies, every class is a new adventure in creativity and connection.

Ready to push further? Dance Lab 2A is designed for teen performers who have a solid technical foundation and are ready for greater challenge, complexity, and performance quality. This intermediate-advanced class builds on the skills developed in Dance Lab 2 with more demanding combinations, faster choreography retention, increased technical expectations, and a deeper focus on artistry and intention in movement.

Students will continue training in jazz, ballet, and musical theatre styles while refining turns, leaps, extensions, transitions, musicality, and storytelling through movement. Dancers will be challenged to move beyond simply learning choreography and begin performing it with confidence, precision, and emotional connection. Expect an environment that values growth, accountability, teamwork, and the work ethic needed to prepare for advanced-level performance training.

Ready to push deeper? Acting Lab 2A is designed for performers who have built a strong foundation and are ready to move beyond the basics into more layered storytelling and performance work. This class bridges the gap between intermediate and advanced training, challenging actors to sharpen their emotional connection, increase specificity in their choices, and strengthen the truth behind every moment on stage.

Students will dive into scene work, character relationships, objectives, tactics, beats, and emotional shifts while continuing to build confidence, flexibility, and presence. Through partner work, ensemble exercises, improvisation, and script analysis, actors will learn to make stronger choices, take creative risks, and develop greater ownership of their craft.

This class is for performers ready to work harder, think deeper, and begin refining the details that elevate good acting into compelling storytelling.

Voice Lab 2A is designed for singers who have built a solid vocal foundation and are ready to refine their technique, strengthen artistry, and take on greater vocal challenges. This intermediate-advanced lab expands on the work of Voice Lab 2 with increased focus on vocal control, dynamic expression, musical storytelling, and more advanced repertoire.

Students will continue developing breath support, tone quality, vocal placement, and healthy mixing while diving deeper into resonance, vocal textures, phrasing, emotional connection, and navigating passaggio transitions with greater confidence. Through musical theatre repertoire and focused vocal exercises, singers will be challenged to move beyond simply singing correctly and toward singing with intention, authenticity, and performance maturity.

This class serves as an important bridge toward Voice Lab 3 and is ideal for students ready to elevate their technique, artistry, work ethic, and overall performance presence.

This beloved annual tradition combines music, storytelling, and holiday magic in an upbeat revue-style production featuring ensemble numbers, featured moments, and seasonal fun for performers of all ages. Masterclass With Andrew Kober

Masterclass Fee: $110

Train with Broadway veteran Andrew Kober, whose Broadway credits include Beetlejuice, Hair, Les Misérables, She Loves Me, School of Rock, and more. Andrew brings a special connection to our fall season as a member of the Broadway company of Beetlejuice, where he covered multiple roles including Beetlejuice himself.

This full-day masterclass includes two sessions. The first, Beetlejuice Jr. Scene + Song Workshop, dives into character, scene work, comedy, and musical storytelling using material from the show. The second, Acting the Song, focuses on connecting to lyrics, making specific acting choices, and using music to tell a compelling story. A 30-minute break will be held from 3:00–3:30 PM.

This is an incredible opportunity to train directly with a working Broadway professional and gain insight into the level of preparation, specificity, and storytelling required on the professional stage. Required for all Company and Rising Stars members. Open to Beetlejuice Jr. cast members and Northwest Theatre Lab families.
