Hip Hop + Play (Senior infants - 2nd Class)
Introducing Hip Hop and Streetdance Foundations and Fundamentals to include Groove and Party Steps to develop on the Hip Hop Culture in an age appropriate way, to develop movement capabilities and skills, in a fun, friendly and encouraging environment. Classes include elements of play to teach social skills, higher level movement concepts and physical literacy to encourage movement confidence and therefore self-confidence. Students need comfy active wear and runners. Suitable for students in senior infants up to 2nd Class

Blending the lines between Street and Stage Dance, allowing dancers to showcase their strengths through their music choices. Can be a great beginners class to experience both styles. Features supplementary circuits and games to enhance strength, fitness and coordination.

Learn the foundations of Acrobatic Arts to Enhance your dance practice in either Street or Stage Dance. Increase strength and flexibility, balance and mobility to elevate your dance practice, improvisation and freestyle capabilities. An essential class for any student wanting to 'level up' their dance training.

Streetdance Group 4 (Secondary School)
Teaching elements from the Streetdance Umbrella (Locking, Popping, Waving, Gliding, Breaking & Hip Hop Culture) in a progressive manner with the objective to increase confidence and awareness in moving, creating and exploring in the style of Hip Hop Culture. Potential to engage in grading to further solidify knowledge and skillset leading to confident and inspired dancers and creators. Celebrating Peace, Love, Unity and Having Fun!
Special focus on creating fun and impactful choreography pieces in a zero pressure and encouraging environment. No previous experience is needed as each week foundations are repeated and built upon.

Intellidance Kids - PreSchool
Introducing Intellidance Kids to the FYI Dance Academy programme for 2024-2025 season. Introducing movement concepts to build dance and movement vocabulary while stimulating Brain Development, Coordination and Social Skills in a friendly, encouraging and collaborative space. Best suited to students at Pre-school up to Junior Infants with a caregiver present to support and assist if necessary. Students will need comfy, stretchy activewear and either bare feet or grippy socks (we have some to borrow/buy in the studio. Jumpzone socks work well also).

Leading on from the Intellidance classes, students will continue to develop on movement and dance concepts learnt, and begin to engage in more complex movement and dance structures and choreography though stories and ideas. Using dance and physical literacy play to enhance brain and body connection and development to enhance learning and development on all levels - social, emotional, physical and mental.

Stage Dance Group 2 (1st-3rd Class)
Building on Stage Dance concepts and movement structures of Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Musical Theatre and Lyrical to create a dynamic and flexible style where students can learn to unleash their creative and emotional expression. Using stories and student- chosen themes, we will develop our style and enhance our performance confidence in a safe, fun and encouraging environment. Great for the student who loves to express themselves or could benefit from an outlet where all emotions are essential!

Begin learning 4 of the 5 elements of Breaking - Top Rock, Transitions, Footwork and Freezes (Power moves to be taught by guest teachers or during suggested Masterclasses) to express your unique style in a friendly, fun and encouraging environment. Suitable for the dancer who loves to freestyle and express their unique talents and skills and who are eager and keen to develop their style through drills, strengthening and conditioning and friendly cyphers (dancing in the circle).
